  1. Orton is here only until EJ is ready (probably next year or year after), or a new qb comes in and gets ready. To be honest, I see Orton as our qb through next year...unless he completely ***** the bed.
  2. I don't think the Pegulas know enough about running an NFL team. So who better to show him the ropes right now than Brandon?
  3. I always thought it was a good, gutsy trade from the beginning. The chances of Buffalo getting a blue chip qb in the first round next year were slim, so I was good with it.
  4. The only time I wanted to see the cameras on EJ the whole game was then. Glad that he was as happy as everyone else. About EJ going back to sidelines, I'm sure you saw the reaction of Orton and he too, after running onto the field, quickly went back to the sidelines. As someone else said, I'm sure it had to do with a possible penalty.
  5. I will not pass judgment on CJ until the OLine starts to block a little better for him. CJ needs space to show his true talents and the line just isn't giving him anything. Fred can make some plays, because he is the bruiser type. If the line can just give him a little more room we'll see what CJ can do.
  6. Lions 23 Bills 13 It will take a game or two for Orton to get comfortable.
  7. I'm a Manuel supporter, but you can't look at just the stats. Look at how his confidence and accuracy has actually gotten worse as he got hit more and more. Those stats don't tell you what was happening to the other guys. Were they getting beat up as much, did they actually get worse or was there a steady climb game to game with an occasional bad game? This is one instance where stats don't tell the whole story, I hope he comes back next season better than ever.
  8. I thought he was making progress after the first two games, but once he started getting hammered, I think he lost all confidence in himself. As bad as the OLine played last week, EJ still had the opportunities out there and he just couldn't come close to getting it done. I think the staff is doing the right thing by benching him right now. Let him sit and watch and learn, that's what was supposed to happen anyway. Let him compete next year for the starting job with Orton or whomever we bring in. He just looked terrible after getting knocked around.
  9. I didn't read the entire thread, but it seems most of you think Manuel is done here in Buffalo. I'm guessing that is not true at all. I see Manuel as learning/developing on the sidelines. If Orton doesn't prove to be an answer, Manuel could be back as soon as the Bills are out of the playoffs. Also, as far as next year goes, you can look forward to Manuel and Orton (and possibly other FA/draft picks) battling it out in training camp for the starting job. That's all Marrone did was sit EJ to have him learn like he was supposed to last year. It was always said he was a project, now he is going to be treated like a project. Whether Marrone is here next year or not, that is what is going to happen. Personally, I think Marrone and Whaley stay on, Pegula's not the type to come in and clean house before learning the biz.
  10. IT's got to be the OLine. They were not good against San Diego and they were worse against Houston, they were manhandled in that game.
  11. Now that you bring it up, it's got to be Joe Ferguson. So it's been 40 years or so.
  12. Don't forget there was a large contingent of Bills fans that wanted Kelly benched in favor of Reich.
  13. Let me be the first to ask, why did he announce it already instead of making Detroit wonder who was starting?
  14. This is probably what should have been done with him from the beginning, the Kolb thing just screwed up everything and forced EJ in too soon. I still think he has potential, just have him sit the rest of the year behind Orton and learn from a distance.
  15. Guess everyone got what they wanted. So what happens next week or in the coming weeks when Orton sucks?
  16. You may be kidding, but there will be dozens of posts Monday that will say that.
  17. I pledge to avoid this board like the plague on Monday. Then come the following Sunday, cheer on the Bills like I always do.
  18. Above average pass rusher now, not a great one. Do the same thing they did against Wake last week and it won't even matter.
  19. This right here is the problem. The Red Zone inefficiency has nothing to do with EJ, people are talking about 3 missed passes, what about the multitude of rushes for only 1 yard. If you want success in the red zone, the running game must be working there. If a couple of those runs get 3 or 4 yards then your play action works that much better. I'm sorry, anyone blaming Manuel for the problem, to me is wrong. If the RB's and OL do their job we don't have problems.
  20. This is a trick question, I always believed Tom thought everyone was an idiot, himself included at times.
  21. I started both Gates and Rivers, so that guarantees Rivers 3 INT's 4 sacks 0 TD's and 112 yards. Meanwhile Gates gets 2 catches for 9 yards and a fumble.
  22. This is going to be a tough game, Buffalo has always had trouble containing the TE, so I think Gates has another good day as Rivers dinks and dunks us all day. I doubt the fans will be nearly as loud as they were last week, I hope so, but I don't think it will happen. Red Zone problems continue for the Bills, they won't play bad, but just not enough to beat the Chargers. Chargers 24 Bills 20 - 2 Minute drill for Buffalo comes up short.
  23. Really? I didn't listen last week, so didn't realize that.
  24. TuneIn Radio App, you can listen to WGR through that and pick up the games.
