Thanks Promo! Don't know what everyone expects Whaley to say when EJ is the only !@#$ing QB on the roster. Reading back about EJ over the course of the year since his benching, why wouldn't he talk "glowingly" about him? He's been a great and supportive teammate, by all accounts he has been studying hard and learning how to lead from Orton. I would be going into those interviews saying that to the candidates and also, I think he was handcuffed by Marrone and forced to play not to make mistakes instead of playing freely.

I'm of the belief that it was more Schwartz that got this team to 9-7.

If the Jets do end up hiring Marrone (and I don't think they will), I don't want to charge them with anything...I want to thank them.

Right there is your answer, he was only concerned with getting that winning record so he could tell any future employers "See what I did with the Bills? First winning record in 10 years!"

I would love for him to stay, but there is no way he doesn't get another shot at a HC job next year. After stopping PM and AR, this defense is being noticed big time and Schwartz is a big reason.

Welcome to the board. Good Luck Sunday. If our offense was even average, Bills would have a decent chance of winning this one...unfortunately they are well below that level. I fear you are correct.

Buffalo's offense can't move the ball, I don't care what the opponents defense is ranked: Pack 27 Bills 16 One TD and 3 field goals, as the offense fails again.

The only one out of that group that I would take and I believe may be available would be Bradford. I even doubt the Rams let him go. Anyone else on that list is no better than Orton and EJ.

I never understood why fans actually root for players on their team to fail. That makes absolutely no sense to me.

Pegula is not the type of owner to make any kind of quick changes. Unless they go winless or only win 1, I fully expect them all to return.

I think the Buffalo v Denver game is going to be ugly.

Orton is here only until EJ is ready (probably next year or year after), or a new qb comes in and gets ready. To be honest, I see Orton as our qb through next year...unless he completely ***** the bed.

I always thought it was a good, gutsy trade from the beginning. The chances of Buffalo getting a blue chip qb in the first round next year were slim, so I was good with it.

The only time I wanted to see the cameras on EJ the whole game was then. Glad that he was as happy as everyone else. About EJ going back to sidelines, I'm sure you saw the reaction of Orton and he too, after running onto the field, quickly went back to the sidelines. As someone else said, I'm sure it had to do with a possible penalty.

I will not pass judgment on CJ until the OLine starts to block a little better for him. CJ needs space to show his true talents and the line just isn't giving him anything. Fred can make some plays, because he is the bruiser type. If the line can just give him a little more room we'll see what CJ can do.

I'm a Manuel supporter, but you can't look at just the stats. Look at how his confidence and accuracy has actually gotten worse as he got hit more and more. Those stats don't tell you what was happening to the other guys. Were they getting beat up as much, did they actually get worse or was there a steady climb game to game with an occasional bad game? This is one instance where stats don't tell the whole story, I hope he comes back next season better than ever.

I thought he was making progress after the first two games, but once he started getting hammered, I think he lost all confidence in himself. As bad as the OLine played last week, EJ still had the opportunities out there and he just couldn't come close to getting it done. I think the staff is doing the right thing by benching him right now. Let him sit and watch and learn, that's what was supposed to happen anyway. Let him compete next year for the starting job with Orton or whomever we bring in. He just looked terrible after getting knocked around.

I didn't read the entire thread, but it seems most of you think Manuel is done here in Buffalo. I'm guessing that is not true at all. I see Manuel as learning/developing on the sidelines. If Orton doesn't prove to be an answer, Manuel could be back as soon as the Bills are out of the playoffs. Also, as far as next year goes, you can look forward to Manuel and Orton (and possibly other FA/draft picks) battling it out in training camp for the starting job. That's all Marrone did was sit EJ to have him learn like he was supposed to last year. It was always said he was a project, now he is going to be treated like a project. Whether Marrone is here next year or not, that is what is going to happen. Personally, I think Marrone and Whaley stay on, Pegula's not the type to come in and clean house before learning the biz.

IT's got to be the OLine. They were not good against San Diego and they were worse against Houston, they were manhandled in that game.

Now that you bring it up, it's got to be Joe Ferguson. So it's been 40 years or so.
