  1. all im sating is WE DONT NEED to focus our offseason on re-signing him.. we look into his situation AFTER FA and draft... and see where he need help, and what holes we have left UNLESS he agreed to a short term average priced deal for a RB. 3 yrs, 12-15 mil. MAX... unless u write up one of those "contracts" that are 6 yrs but really means 2-3 yrs cuz they structured it that way.. HES NOT A FREE AGENT.. teams with Better RB's have simimlar situation in Forte and Rice.. they are both better and younger than freddy... stop being such a homer.... Freddy was having a great yr, but its no TOP % rb in this league after a big injury and in his 30's.... He will be back regardless, ppl talking about cutting him are just plain ignonant.. i dont get why ppl think hes a FA.. HE IS UNDER CONTRACT.... use him and CJ and if he cant excpet that CJ has earned a share of the carries then adios.. freddy has always been a team guy, but i have a feeling hes gonna BE VERY VOCAL about this thing and use what nix said against him and try and milk as much as possible.. call ralph cheap all u want.. he isnt worth hunderds of millions of dollars for no reason... hes a very crafty business man even at his age.. problem is, ralph seems to care more about that than winning and thats why he needs to sell the team but thats a whole diff topic right there... he has no one in his family to take over...
  2. who cares what he said... THIS IS A BUSINESS.. u think with ur heart cuz ur a fan... Nix has a job to do, and if the numbers for freddie r too high, dont jsut pay the man cuz u give him "ur word" thats BAD BUSINESS.. i run a big business and if i did that i'd be broke.. u prioritize what u pay and who u pay... WE HAVE MORE PRESSING NEEDS THAN "PAYING THE MAN CUZ U GAVE HIM UR WORD".. sorry to imform u , this is not little league, u dont play every kid to make them happy. this is a MULTI BILLION dollar industry.. Nix job is not safe if we dont produce next yr... freddy is under contract and u make him a FAIR OFFER. 2-3 yr extension at under 5 mil a yr... thats BEYOND fair and finacially feasible and spread money out so he doesnt hurt cap at all... if he thinks hes worth more... let someone else pay him and get a 2nd cuz if a team feels a 31 yr old RB off a knee surgury is worth that kinda money, thats a lot more than u pay a 2nd rounder... ppl that think we cant get a 2nd or at worst a 3rd for him is nuts.. in BUSINESS you corelate how much u pay on a scale.. if hes worth big bucks to u , u would easily sacrifice what u have to in order to get them.. which will be a 2nd or 3rd.. pay stevie whos gonna be gone if we dont, pay chandler cuz hes gone if we dont.. dont OVER pay freddy cuz u gave him "ur word".. we need to bring in passer rushers, lb's , vet CB , depth on oline and real WR outside of freddy and nelson in slot and if we pay freddy and dont stevie, we then need 2 WR's and then u have chemistry issues with 2 new starting WR with an AVERAGE QB. we used a top half of 1st round pick on spiller... USE HIM.. u dont draft a RB in top half of 1st to let him collect dust while someone else is the guy.. CJ shut up and did whatever team needed when reddy was rocking... only reason CJ didnt keep cracking 100 yards is cuz we have no OLINE, fitz was AWFUL and we were down in 2nd half in every game and stopped running ball cuz we couldnt stop a college offense let alone an NFL one.. look at CJ's 1st half stats and carries. Freddy had the benefit of us having a good record and oline was healthy and D was totally decimated and had spencer johnson and carrington starting at OLB in a 4-3! CJ average per carry was as good and dropped more balls than freddy did but is much more explosive in space and showcased that with big runs in every game... he can be a game changer in a shotgun offense which is what we run.. our O is passed based and sets up run thru pass... not other way around... We come out throwing alot more in opening few drives with short passes to RB or WR's to get fitz going.. we need to shore up the D bigtime in draft and IF and thats a HUGE IF freddy doesnt accept average $ which is what he deserves, there are TONS of RB's out there or u can draft in mid rounds than care be the PERFECT complimentary back to CJ.. much easier to find a between the tackles tough yardage guy than it is to find a game changer who explodes with big plays.. FREDDY WILL BE BACK whether he likes it on not cuz we should be smart and play hardball with him.. look at manning??? hes 1000 times the player freddy will ever be and until this yr, could u EVER hve imagined colts not paying manning his bonus and DRAFTING his immediate successor???? if u would have told me that after last season when no one knew of surgeries and offseason lockout that he couldnt do his routine with training staff??? what happens, colts worst yr since they drafted 1st overall and got manning... BEST thing that could have happened to IRSAY.. as OWNER, he saves a fortune, doesnt pay manning 28 mil.. yes 28 mil... and has his next starting QB for next 15 yrs... imagine if after jimbo's last yr , we go 2-14 and we had a chance to draft 1st overall and theres a kid like luck at #1?? not a yr where there is no clear cut #1.. hes higher rating than manning what coming out of college... that could be 30 GREAT yrs of QB play for colts... s*** happens.. this is a day to do day business... u would have been on serious crack if we were talking about luck a yr ago AT THIS TIME to colts... u would have needed to be instituationalized..
  3. ingram or upshaw will be just fine at DE in 4-3 if we cant land coples... secondary will be easier to fix if we have pass rush.. already have 2nd round pick we used last yr in williams and rogers will be i our 4 db packages and is gonna be our KR.. we bring back one of are current guys in mcgee mcelvin who is still under contract and still has potential if we have a rush and floyrence.. cant stand mcgee, always hurt and well past his prime and floyrence gets flagged 2 much.. we can easily sign a vet for something reasonable... giants have proved that a good pass rush trumps all... we havent had a good edge rusher since we lost schobel and this is by far our biggest need.. and even schobel wasnt a star.. we need a top notch DE and all 3 of those guys fits the bill..
  4. 110%.. read my thread on mayock / senior bowl.. love this kid
  5. coples is NOT highly over rated at all... has all the tools but played for crap team and is still a kid.. has some growing up to and has high motor and a mean streak.. he have enough "character" guys.. time to get a baller and this kid has all the tools to be the 2nd coming of peppers. even if hes 75% of peppers he would be worth his weight in gold.. NC turns out some really good pro prospects on D and him and zack brown are both premier players at their respective positions.. we were smart last yr and drafted a BAMA and LSU guy to be up middle of our D.. stick to same logic and draft kids from schools that turn out good pro;s on D and NC seems like they produce good edge rushers like UM produced good WR and RB's a few years back.. Brown absolutely BLEW up a screen yesterday and creamed the RB.. may be a bit under sized but HIGH motor and insane speed.. i was hoping he would have a bad game so he can slip to 2nd and we get him there while adding coples ( who doubt will last to us) ingram or upshaw... IF we dont go DE in round 1 which i think based on players avaiable is deepest position for our spot at 10.. we can really do our HW and get best DE available.. no reason to look anywhere else unless blackmon drops to us which again, he wont... i think we take care of WR in FA with a bowe like signing to pair up with Stevie who we WILL resign some way or another... if we can some how get Mario Willliams who i dont think we will spend on, hat fixes our need for DE and say we go WR cuz i cant see us signing an expensive WR and DE in free agency.. its probably gonna be 1 or other.. those are our 2 biggest needs that can help us immediately.. i dont care how good some of CB's are like Dre or claiborne.. we dont need them if we can pressure the QB.. williams should be locked into 1 spot and we can sign plenty of guys to reasonable deals.. i think we let mcgee walk, and hopefully floyrence as well... i still think they should give mckelvin another look to start.. bad ball skills cuz came from D2 school and sometimes it takes them longer to adapt cuz they were used to winning matchups on ability alone and hes not sharpest tool in shed.. talent wise hes by far the best we got and i think Rodgers wil turn out to be a great corner.. has great instincts and over final weeks , we finally got a KR who wasnt scared to bring ball out of endzone... this kid will be a top 4 corner next yr for us and between mid rounds and free agency i see easy fits for us... our safeties are great , LOVE byrd and wilson and would look alot better if we actually got to QB so they can do their jobs... think Searcy is gonna be a baller too.. looked tough against run and made some rookie mistakes as did williams but will be much improved in yr 2.. last yr's draft class was best in a long time and dont forget , NO OTA's and stuff really limited rookies.. i think we will see a huge step for 2nd and 3 rd yr players... im hoping carrington goes back to DE and i think would be a good 3rd and short or 1st and 10 DE... not best pass rusher, but hes a big boy and gets hands up and knocks passes down and was sooooooooooooo stupidly used last yr as OLB.. boggles my mind how we lined him and spencer johnson at OLB... i think we see a real over haul in depth in front 7 this yr as we will be much more of a 4-3 team... 4-3 is built up middle and our 2 best D players are at DT.. if we can get a really good DE whether viz draft or FA, and draft smart on D like last yr and get guys like shepp, dareus, searcy and williams and rodgers... those 5 guys will all receive alot of playing time .. i cant remember a draft producing 5 solid guys with a true stud in round 1 and throw in hairston who looks like we will def. have a solid career in league whether as a starter or as a 3rd tackle which is still valuable due to injuries and tackle being most important depth position on OL... thats best draft class is YRS... i see it as an A+ draft.. cant wait to see these guys along with moves in off season... this is yr we HAVE TO MAKE PLAYOFFS and to be honest, we arent far away.. we will have a much improved team, my biggest concern is their confidence is fitz... i really hope we sign a REAL backup and not thiggy and draft a kid like moore in 4th who has long term potential and will really soak in alot in yr sitting behind a brain like fitz and working with a QB type HC in gailey..
  6. then ur pretty stupid... this is not college or a bizz letter.. i do most thru IPAD or mobile phone.. i type fast and dont care about perfect grammar.. every point made, is feasable and makes sense on future on players and hopefully we get right guy in 1st... coples, ingram or upshaw... a 3 suit our needs more than anyone else unless something unforeseen occurs and a major player drops to us
  7. tebow is not a qb... he will be figured out like he was did in playoffs. broncos better bring someone else in but tebow is gonna last as long as wildcat did... im 110% fine with cj.. hes gonna be very valuable next yr and is a true pro a team guy.. never whines about playing time, freddy is gonna be a divs this offseason cuz this is his last chance at payday.. hope they dont hand him big cash, i dont care how good he was last yr.. he deserves a mid level contract for 3 yrs and split tim with cj.. if he cant accept that, adios mr. coe college and trade him.. anyone that doesnt think we can get a 2nd or 3rd 4 him is nuts... there r quite a few teams that need a proven RB , first team to come to mind is detroit and packers.. both out of conference, and all they are missing on offense is a steady running back.. we have more preseing issues than RB, CJ filled in beyond find , hes average per carry was as good as freddy and scored as many td's as freddy did ith a banged up line and fitz. i would be 100% cool with CJ and choice being back next yr and adding another 2nd day pick
  8. i watched game twice.. no QB looked sharp.. pead had a few big returns.. adams and criner would VERY effective... both really improved stock.. adams showed toughness and fumbling away his 1st reception but coming back and catching alot of balls for a ton of yards and had alot of yac.. criner made some nice catches and was crisp on routes.. on D.. coples looked like a beast.. upshaw was playing DE in 4-3 set which was good to see cuz thats where we would needed.. kid is very solid but his sack was a coverage sack and QB run right into him.. adams looked like a mid to late 1st round LT , mayock was raving about him.. ingram was pretty quiet but they were saying he was really good all week during practices.. coples did have 1 really bone head play, it was a blown play and kellen moore slid and in college u dont ever need to touch him once knee is down play is dead and he gave him an old school wrestling flying elbow.. blatant flag.. mayock actually missed it, only call he really didnt catch all day and i was shocked cuz i spotted it right away and it was blatant.. alot of other WR looked very shaky with hands. no rb's really stood out outside of pead of returns, had 2 huge ones.. most of the int in game were easy picks for D, no spectacular plays.. QB's looked awful on picks but showed glimpes of why they are mid round prospect but all the top guys like foles, cousins, and weeden looked average .. weeden probably looked best and seemd comfortable under center but mayock was saying hes gonna be a mid 1st rounder.. way too rich for my blood considering hes 29. he will need to start from day 1 for him to worth a 1st round pick.. those are main guys that showed good or bad.. kellen moore looked very good also btw, i would def. use a later round flyer on him.. really squeezes balls into windows and is great on play action.. really tucks ball away..
  9. things change... he went to IR and our 1st round pick showed promise... buddy has all the bargaining power.. this is a business.. do players keep their word? they get a big contract and suck it up and give $ back cuz they didnt do well? r u that naive?
  10. mcshay is awful.. falls in love with guys 4 no reason.. kiper as much as he irritates me, is very good.. but mayock is just so damn good at breaking things down and just so natural is how he says it.. did u see banks mock draft?? another bozo... si has really fallen off... nfl.com and espn insider are by far 2 best sources.. between shefty, mort and the penis with ears john clayton.. they are very well covered and get the fastest updates.. As a commentor i was most impressed.. i just wish other analysts had a clue what they were doing.. hearing beuilin, tasker, even aikman is awful and he gets high ratings.. the MNF crew is great too but they r too nice and not critical enough.. jaws breaks stuff down really well as does collinsworth. collinsworth is just 2 cocky
  11. i must say, watching NFL games past few yrs, and hearing these ex players as analsyts is pathetic.. calling wrong names, missing flags, being wrong about challenges.. no depth to what they say... Mayock is a draft guru and only guys mock i trust cuz he sees EVERYTHING... watching him dessect every play , even if its a good play, he will be on the QB for his footwork, saying hes lucky WR made that catch.. on in 2nd quarter with kellen moore throwing back to back TD passes on same route that was cleanly dropped twice in a row, he commented on how he looked over at sideline and kinda winked or smiled cuz even though he didnt get credited for a score, he will be GRADED for like he did, cuz he did his job.. i wish every commentator had HALF insight and sundays would be alot more entertaining.. he could make a blowout entertaining with how we dissects every play, calls guys out even when they make a big play! upshaw had a sack in 2nd, and mayock right away COMMENDED LT, cuz it was a coverage sack and he did his job, kept pushing upshaw upfield but QB rolled wrong way and literally right into upshaws arms... on paper upshaw gets a sack and Adams give up a sack, but adams get graded better on that play! game itself: adams looks REAL good.. looks like a desean jackson with a brain.. made a nice catch in 1st quarter and fumbled but came back and had a monster game... crinner is also gamer.. i think 2nd or 2rdround we get a WR.. its so deep this yr and i have a very strong feeling we bring in a guy like bowe.. we will have 1 big contract and i think its going to a WR along with resigning Stevie to give us 2 strong WR.. neither is a true 1 but that could actually work to our benefit cuz fitzy likes to sling it around and throws to whoever is open.. which means D wont know who to double cuz there is no clear cut #1.. with those 2 at WR along with a rookie hopefully a kid like adams... guy just flies and he need a burner.. to go along with nelson in the slot.. very solid... probably draft an mid round OL and go HEAVY on D... I would LOVE to see coples.. same talent as peppers accoridng to mayock but question his work ethic.. we need pure talent on D.. doesnt have to be on field every play cuz we rotate anyway, but we desperately need a guy that HAS to be accounted for on outside cuz our interior DL is our strongest position on team.. id also love to see brown get to us in round 2 .... pure speed on olb , he just blew up a screen early in game.. take the WR in round 3 OL in 4th and get a developmental QB in 5th or 6th... none of the QB has done anything to impress me to much.. weeden is too rich for my blood cuz hes now gonna be a 1st rounder.. lets not even bring up tannenhill, id said his name to many times over past few weeks that i hope to never hear his name again! i would love kellen moore or a case keenum late.. have not looked into what round moore is projected but it will proabably like 5-6 but i have a feeling someone will fall in love with intangibles and take him in 3rd.. hes only QB id feel comfortable in drafting in 3rd..i wouldnt waste a high pick on any QB outside on top 2.. foles is all over the place, weeden is 29 but would need to start now and we wont do that cuz like it or not, nix and gailey are going with fitz.. but we do need a qb and moore just has that it factor.. hes a lefty version on pennington but better.. would be great in a spread offense like ours cuz gailey would work perfectly with his short comings.. id rather a weaker arm than fitzy wildness.. and moore is great student of the game and would work great sitting a yr under fitz and either battle it out the next yr and just flat out be handed keys to ship.. i really liked this kid all yr, and dont care about his height, he just finds lanes.. fitzy gets 2-4 passes down a game, rivers gets passes batted down... it happens.. u roll him out, he is PHENOMINAL at play action, hides the ball real well and fools D's and hes good at gadget play and gailey is into that.. fitz is too limited cuz he does arm arm stregth 2 fit ball in between tight coverage but i dont care how strong ur arm is, if is no where need WR it wont matter.. moore just finds those lanes and puts the ball where it needs to be and just gets in there somehow and makes the right decisions and is obviously a pure winner.. the guy can count on 1 hand how many times he lost a game in his college career, u can only play the teams on ur schedule.. anyways to some up, didnt have much time to read too much on senior bowl practices i like to see what guys do under pressure.. id love a top flight DE for a 4-3 in this draft and i hope somehow coples falls to us.. i wouldnt be unhappy at all if ingram or upshaw either... but i see one of these 3 being our guy.. i dont trust mercilus... no more 1 yr wonders... i dont care how much talent he has.. coples had a "bad" yr and still had 7 sacks and a loaded D with no offense.. was dominant yr b4.. ingram was great last yr too i remember watching every S. carolina game and saying if they only cuz they had best tailback in country and jeffery on outside.. we should be open about our interest in best DE cuz it really doesnt matter.. i think any of those 3 guys will be a baller on next level.. and pair him with a mix of carrington and kelsay whos still serviceable and is a team first guy at other side of Dline... another interesting name that comes to mind who never saw field much this yr but would suit our D better than any of our current LB is Morrison.. i believe his forte is MLB in 4/3 and was very productive yr in out and even in very limited action this yr, when he was out there.. i actually heard his name.. which says more about how bad our D was cuz he was never out there! i think u can mix him and shepp in and let a vet battle a 2nd yr guy for mlb and barnett i think was no issue moving outside.. he got a few ints this yr, moves well and think shift would not be a big deal for him..
  12. WE WONT BE REALEASED... what is every freaking out about???? he is UNDER CONTRACT.. worst case is hold out and he trade him and he plays hard on current deal or we end up re doing his deal.. very simple.. cant lose situation..
  13. ur smart... cj averaged as much per carry and had as many scores as jackson and spiller didnt have the luxury of a healthy OL.. team fell apart when OL got hurt cuz OL is what gave fitzy time and creatd big holes for freddy.. spiller had no center and a rotation and injured LT's , the 2 most important positions on line.. he had less carries thatswhy he had only 500 yards.. he has the burst to close those big runs for td;s.. and had some key drops in endzone or close to it.. he will only be better next yr
  14. a real homer... we are a cheap team.. hes over 30 and still UNDER CONTRACT next yr.. we have more pressing needs.. this was very smart.. he will probbly hold out and either come back and play angry which is when hes at his best or we trade him and get a 2nd or a 3rd.. i'd be fine with any of those scenarios.. we throw the ball alot and from make take and the press conferences, by reading between lines, they will bring in a vet legit WR and will end up signing Stevie.. worst case we franchise stevie so its big money for 1 yr but will get us a real chance 2 see if his character issues that give 15 yards after every score.. id rather him being taken down and the 1 and run it in! As much as i love freddy and the story behind it.. im a business owner that has insanely high expenses... obviously not like a football team but i have min. 1.2 mil in expenses in a yr and if i had an employee and i had to cut costs, id keep the young guy with talent and teach him.. CJ got better and better as yr went along and showed in my opinion alot of class which is rare in league.. never whined about being under utilized.. he worked hard all yr with no real off season did whatever coach asked.. he played lots of WR , had a ton of games where he didnt get any chances.. We used a 1st rounder on him and he is more elctric than freddy, the easiest position to replace with mid round picks is RB.. and bring in aging vet like a what lets did with with lt, or mcgahee did with denver.. wont be hard to find a complement to spllier cuz u need just a basic convertional RB.. spiller could be like a sproles type but with more rushing and less receving and i think next yr he is one of breakout players in NFL... i watched almost all his college games, the kid is insane talented and i think he really learned alot as freddys understudy.. we were very stupid at start of yr and ONLY used freddy when they had a guy that was capable of sharing load.. even the best RB's get spelled a play here and there and at least a full series in each half.. there were a fair share of games with freddy get 22 ish carries, 5 cathces with spiller getting his token bubble screen for 5-10 yards his token slant over middle for 7-10 and MAYBE 4-5 carries when they were games he had only like 1 or 2.. thats just bad coaching.. they were alot smarter at end of yr with we had choice who i would also have no problem resigning , he suits a #2 back perfect.. better between the tackles and can catch a few passes out of backfield.. our team was so beat up by that point s it didnt matter but not resigning freddy will not affect cuz fact of matter is he IS under contract and even if he held out, hes an agry dude, he will stay in tip top shape and report b4 he loses game checks.. play hard ball with him, we need to be thrifty to use money and hopefully 2 very good free agents and 2 solid guys who r either starters or 1st guy behind starters like a nickel back..
  15. hes better VALUE in late rounds versus a 1st rounder where we desperately need an IMPACT player than can play from day 1... this regime doesnt have more than a 1 or 2 yrs more and i think if we have another top 10 pick next yr, we have yet again have another GM and head coach... our history shows we give 3-4 yrs for a regime...
