Your best chance to win that game is the sneak & timeout. You then get 1-2 chances to complete passes to the EZ to win, and then can still hit the chip shot to take your OT chances. There is no good excuse for kicking the FG on 4th and inches. I'd prefer a shot to the EZ on 4th and in rather than the FG. For one thing, you're automatically behind the 8-ball based on a 50/50 coin flip. You lose that, and I don't have confidence our offense would get the ball.

If you want to approach the slip from a physics standpoint, if he sees that side of the OL getting a poor jump on the snap, he may have gone low to try to advance under the defense. That angle of attack may be enough to compromise the traction needed to accelerate at that trajectory. In my mind, whatever caused the OL to be late off the line is the issue.

I think he knew it was doomed and tried to go as low as possible to both dive ahead and limit contact. But he was a sitting duck. His LT let him down there. As I was alluding to in my post, it seemed nervous and disjointed. Maybe his cadence on the count was off. But you're right, it seemed like reaction time on the left side was extremely poor.

The right elbow is when he's down. Do that one. Then you'll be enlightened.

Everything came up the way you wanted it at the end of that game. Well, almost everything. This was a foreseeable game. Big win last weekend. Titans team that's specialized and seemingly feast (last night) or famine (Jets game). To have a little let-down is not shocking, especially on defense as you feel like you have Tannehill's number most of the time. But even through struggles, you still have the chance you need. In a shootout, grabbing the lead on a late score may be your best chance, as the defense had few 2nd half answers (though I'd suspect they'd be better in 2 minute defense as the threat of TEN running would be lessened). The trouble - that sneak. And the other one. There just seems to be some level of "guarantee" believed to these plays. It's easy to understand. It also leaves you wondering if it's being treated a tad nonchalantly (whether by Josh or by the coordinators). Maybe it's just a great guess by the TEN defense and they just happened to shoot the gap Allen needed to hit. Just looked rushed & nervous, and possibly even a mistake. He takes his step towards that gap, and he may have realized that it was intended the other way (Morse & Williams partly caved that side of the line) and slipped as he knew he was going to get smashed. You hate to lose. But their two losses this season have great learnings. You need to string wins against good teams in the playoffs, and this was a chance to do that (in what may be the meatiest part of the sked). Their inability to do so should register in their minds heading to a longer break until MIA.

Maybe if Congress gets involved. Which I'm surprised they haven't threatened to already. With the high-profile nature of the WFT crap and the Kaepernick embargo, you'd think they would be ready to start demanding more of Goodell and the owners. Andrew Beaton was reporting on it at 4pm ET on Friday. The vote was Friday evening.

This seems to have two components to me: Individual calls - Ever since the Houston playoff game where the ref gave a TD on a kick returner flipping the ball instead of kneeling we've seen more and more "eye in the sky" guidance to help the officials get it right. Usually they huddle up to make it seem like they're talking with each other, but there seem to be more-and-more instances where someone with replay help is trying to ward off clearly bad calls. I think they have started to realize that fans are getting tired of the additional commercial breaks adding to game time on replay challenges. "Game Flow" - I think in extreme cases this may be called down, like "You guys are calling too many penalties" or "that was a bad DPI". Largely I feel the officials are left to their own devices, but HQ steps in when it's clear that they need help - especially in prime time. I think the Sun 1pm games may have too many for HQ to be completely in tune to each game at that level. Addendum - I'd like to think this isn't used to skew results to any one team, as I'm pretty sure the small-market Bills wouldn't be 4-1 in a profit-driven world.

My point of view (for what little it's worth): I want to complain less about the officials. Social media allows for immediate reaction to every play. In the moment, every play appears to have a potential infraction if you look hard enough. Thus, most of us find that - especially when our team is losing - the referees miss calls on the opponent while call too many on their team. The real issue is when there is a double standard. The roughing calls & the OPI calls were pretty consistent. Where things got problematic was that there was a clear disparity in the Bills defenders being able to treat the Chiefs receivers with the same physicality as what they assumed their opponent would be allowed. Unfortunately for the Bills, a few of those calls were made on the very first drive, and as the game went on you might gather the impression that the Chiefs defenders got the message, didn't play it quite as loose, and then got burned on 2-3 deeper passes because of it. There was also a disparity in the way it cost Bills opps to get off the field (or extend their own drives). That first drive was littered with drive extending flags. Then after the KR fumble there was a marginal o-hold on Dawkins which negated a 3rd down conversion and 1&G. Follow that up with the Morse hold, that was another one that had been taken away. So in that regard, the "by the letter" roughing the passer call was pretty much just desserts.

Collinsworth was almost impossible to listen to.

The Bills app works for the radio feed most days. Though a few Sundays ago it was a bit intermittent. It's also a challenge to keep the audio synced with the video. -

At this point I'd listen to an alternate Smothers Brothers commentary instead of this guy. -

I'm sure that's part of it. But some of his fortune is also heavily tied to analytics being a done-and-dusted accepted field, and Josh Allen is the one that got away from them. His ascendancy has caused a disturbance in the force in that field, and there seems to be a split between those who accept that flaws are possible in any algorithmic approach, and those who are dug in and will jump on every moment to either say "told you so" when JA has a bad game, or "well it was just the other team's defense is garbage" when he does well. -
Might be a combo of a bunch of things, but most maybe related to his huge contract. They gutted his OL, have fewer good weapons, and it's also meant their defense is down a lot of guys. Add to that the fact that a lot of his mark was made on lobbing the deep ball, and now he's being roped into a West Coast style possession attack which is Andy Reid's deal but maybe not his...

CC was the reason ball gags were invented. It's comical watching people complain about people complaining about officiating and perceived slights from talking heads. -
What is Wrong with Steve Belichick?

Probably rooted through Patrick Chung's locker after he was released... -
The Steelers fans are saying the same thing right now. If I were you I'd be worried about Wilson and the Jets finishing 2nd, he had a pretty solid 2nd half against Beli's defensive buddy in TEN. And I think they have the better head coach at this point in the modern NFL.

We should all grieve for Al Michaels's golden years being wasted by being paired with the worst. And we have to put up with his Buffalo hate this week. Ugh.
-
The impressive part is the side of his game that was deficient at one point is now a strength, so much so that things he used to do well are now getting criticized by detractors and "we need it all now" fans... If you hit 1/3 long passes, you've done well. It won't be long where at least 1 of the misses will draw flags based on reputation...

Nahh, replying to the wrong comment with half-intelligible jibberish on a rival's board reads like a job posting for being a Patriots fan. You're hired. -

I mean, you have all that great history to reminisce about with fellow Patriots fans. Why you'd be over here trolling a Bills forum should be something the moderators should take up with you... -

He only will because the lapdogs in the media feed from his competitive intelligence trough. We've only seen the surface dinged with that Schefter news... Just about any news leak comes from that shop. Mark it down...
