Matt Araiza accused of rape, served with a lawsuit.

They just got themselves out of an unsavory gameday situation with Beasley, they don't need this. -

Wasn't trying to say they don't want some financial award from this. Mostly just saying that you go to the Court of Public Opinion for a variety of reasons...in this situation it seems that they want to force the Bills into terminating him, but maybe the real motivation is that her attorney wants to be the next Avenatti. -

She should fire him immediately. He's totally trying to make a name for himself too. Shameful representation regardless of the veracity of her claims. -

Exactly. He went to the Saul Goodman School of Law. Yeah this is where we are at in the US. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't think this is about money, this is about taking him down. -

So tell me, how long do you think it takes to get the results of a rape kit? 9 months? -

His criminal attorney (in that clip posted earlier in the thread) makes it damned clear that the Bills knew about it before they cut Haack. There's no getting around that. -

Yeah pretty sure he means that the press is going to ask like 100K questions about this. -

I just can't get over the fact this team, that has to have one of the lowest 3-and-out rates in the league, was infatuated with drafting the best punter. It serves them right in some ways. Yeah Haack stunk. Just that nobody's gonna vet a punter, and so they pissed a 6th round pick because that was a "position of need" because they have so few. -

Well yeah, I'm sure initially she had hoped the police would charge. And honestly if the evidence is there, every single one of us wishes they would have done their jobs. But then when you hold off filing the civil suit until the perpetrator gets paid...yeah I get it, it doesn't benefit the victim if they file in February and then nobody takes him and she gets nothing. But yeah, this might be the definition of a shakedown plan. Anyway, there's nothing good about any of this. -

He must have really hit the table-jumps already. Since that's more important to the Maf than football or morals. -

Maybe. I'd have to think someone could go "STOP CALLING ME THAT PLEASE" and they'd probably stop. Anyway, maybe I'm wrong. I feel like a guy who's ready to tell a gal he screwed to test for STD's is a guy who has like ZERO moral compass and one should think long and hard about how important he might be to your team that ends up on the 50 in 2 plays and thus an 80 yard punt means little to nothing. -

Yeah I feel like they did no vetting pre-draft, because I highly doubt they'd have wanted this headache. -

This happened nearly a year ago. In this day, the authorities would be bringing Araiza & company in extremely quickly if things matched up. The story says she reported the incident immediately. So why would SD police sit on this for months? Not to mention the attorney for the accuser completely makes it sound like a shakedown, and does the accuser no justice by listing his current employer in his rhetoric. Even if consensual the actions are distasteful, but hell I'd say the worst part is what's being reported about Araiza's conversation with the victim set up by the police. Even if this guy was two steps away from sainthood, why would this team need to draft a punter when you go three & out, like, never? Then top it off with this, which was almost certainly coming up if they did any vetting. This sounds like an impulse move from the team, "Hey, we are stacked, what would rub it in? Let's draft a punter!" They probably did no vetting predraft, and now are paying the price. But Araiza comes off sounding like the guy who would let himself be anointed "punt god". Mega-ego. -

Plus Belichick isn't the type of coach that inspires guys when things are going off the rails. Observe guys like Judon as they started to realize that the smoke and mirrors can't hide the truth. Easy to quit on that type of guy, it's his type of attitude that everyone rails on when it fails with guys like Chip Kelly & Urban Meyer. James forgot the "I'd stay but I like winning" line. They do have Patriots forums ya know. -

Belichick's 20+ years removed from when he won 2 Super Bowls with traditional Erhardt-Perkins caretaker QB coupled with strong defense. The game has changed, winning that way is extremely difficult with that formula today. He lucked out with Brady developing the way he did, he basically had a second OC on the field adjusting on the fly. I remember that Andy Reid's death knell in Philly was moving OL Coordinator Juan Castillo to Def Coord after McDermott was relieved of his duties. He lasted 2 more years after that decision, but those kinds of moves will either be master strokes or the final straws. -

Yep, well, the Maf has to put profit over helping their team, so no surprise they will grow their presence whether or not it hurts their team come Week 1. It's what it's come to. They could always go to Patriots or Jets or Dolphins camp. Hopefully the Bills take it indoors without any fan experience next time. Then they'll have tons of content. -
Josh is playing in the Pebble Beach pro am next week.
pocoboy replied to Southern Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh is paired with Keith mitchell and will play Pebble Beach on Saturday (there is a 3 course rotation Thurs-Sat). It doesn't say if it's PST, but assuming it is, he'll be on the back nine during the late afternoon. Plus Larry Fitzgerald will also be in his group, so a football theme for sure. -
There's definitely a hinge point right now. You've lost presumably one of the primary guys who helped develop Allen. But on the flip, in the same man you've also lost the guy who struggled to make the run game threatening enough to be the counter to the potent passing attack. You have to have some turmoil right now with whatever gets decided is the real story behind the 13 second collapse. If only that Allen has to have some real difficulties accepting the fact he won that game and the other facets botched it in such excruciating fashion. With all of that, you've also seen a team respond to some early season woes & improve in the process. The run game became competent enough to allow Allen some better looks through the air. And the defense mostly shored up their issues in terms of stopping the run. I feel Dorsey will offer some continuity. He's gonna need to figure out ways to spring Diggs in the games where teams take him away. Hopefully the learnings from the 2nd half OL carousel can give them a solid footing when they hit August. I think the future is bright, but the KC debacle needs to be the last time we see such a sorry display - the Hopkins Hail Mary was bad enough, it's tough to believe they found a way to top that...

No s**t. That doesn't mean I want my team blabbing inner workings to the guy, with this scenario being one particularly ugly outcome. Personally, I hope it bites Belichick in the ass. I hope he was playing games. It would suck for Flores to get jerked around in order to wreak havoc with two Division rivals (of course the Dolphins bit would be independent of the alleged Rooney Rule charade). But that's Belichick, and nothing is beyond that guy.

Someone who cared would dig into why Belichick would have been in contact with either Buffalo or NYG about the Giants HC job. The answer is likely he wasn't, and was probably being told this information by a certain person whose father was a hardcore New England Patriot fan...and who also had a big part in the whole WFT wagon-circling that got Gruden fired but nothing else.

New York State vs Pennsylvania, right? Most of the NY cities not in the boroughs or state capital have gone to hell. Downstate sucks tons of tax dollars, so nobody wants to put a lot of investment into the areas where infrastructure gets second (probably more like 20th) best. The Pegulas are lucky their choice of McBeane, and thusly the selection of Josh Allen, paid off in success on the field. Have this funny feeling we'd be wondering about a move if the Bills sucked like the Sabres have.

I was listening to a "popular" radio show's interview with Eric Wood on the way to work today. I got about 5 minutes in and I said to myself, "Why TF am I doing this to myself???" I put on "The Nightfly" and grooved out. I need to put this team away for awhile, maybe weeks. Maybe draft time. Maybe free agent signings will help. Maybe I would feel a little better about this if it wasn't the same humdrum BS from our coaches no matter what. Come on McDermott, I want to see you in emotional pain over this. I want to be convinced you're hurting as much as we are. And I'm not. I'm not sure you don't think you made every right call, and it's just the football gods have it in for us. Or maybe there's a better way, but you're way too sold on yourself to ever admit it. There, I wound myself up again. Try to escape, and the Black Hole of the Buffalo Bills history sucks you right back in...
