Ideally I want to move out of Round 1 (and maybe one of our late 5ths/early 6th) and get a high 2nd and 3rd Round draft pick in a trade down. Then I'd use our day two picks on Tyleik Williams, a CB and edge rusher.

He likely won't cost much and I'd at the very least bring him in to see if has anything to offer. Worst case scenario who turns into a Chase Claypool/Anquan Boldin at CB.

Actually not signing Kelly allowed us to bottom out and draft Bruce Smith a few years later. In terms of serendipitous the trade of OJ Simpson to the 49ers lead to us to taking Tom Cousineau first overall in 1979 who eventually was traded to Cleveland for 1st in 1983 lead to us drafting Jim Kelly.

Some people read into him asking for $15 million contracts through social media headaches. Personally, he's been good in his role and welcome signing him to another 2-3 years but not top end money maybe top 10 but it means sacrificing elsewhere like the interior OL to do so.

When draftniks say these DTs are available in Round 2 it doesn't necessarily mean late Round 2 where we draft. As to me he fits a serious need and to me the ranking between 25-40 (87.4 vs 87.0) is usually minuscule when talking about BPA. Sure other DTs might fall to us at the end of Round 2 but IMO few of them fit in as run blocking NT/1 Tech that we are looking for. Again trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Not wisest of things to do IMO.

Lofton, tall and fast. Moulds would also be a good fit but based on locker room fit think James might be better as Moulds might be one to be looking for more targets etc.

Jordan Burch, with AJE and Bosa not under contract after this coming season we could have a serious hole at DE after this season with Groot and Soloman the only guys under contract. Burch looks the part and at very least is good depth in 2025 and maybe competes with Soloman to start in 2026.

He was a 3 time Pro Bowler following a strong rookie season that got ruined with an injury. He looked like was going to be a top 3-5 QB his last played season in Houston.
