  1. Most WR who produce year one are helped by playing time/snap counts. Case in point Nuka and Addison last year benefitted from injuries to Kupp and Jefferson respectively. Flowers wasn't competing with many others with Andrews down etc. If we can get a rookie that can get 40-50 catches and 500-600 yards and 4-5 TDs with a healthy Diggs and Kincaid then we had a good pick.
  2. Similar to Mitchell but a step slower. He's definitely on the list of possibilities at #28.
  3. With that RAS and if he falls to #28 I can see Beane being all over him.
  4. His writeups remind me of Josh Allen and wouldn't mind taking a flier on him as could develop and then be moved for a higher pick than we drafted him type situation.
  5. Cornelius Johnson remains on my 3rd day wish list. Bub Means from Pitt also is another guy who could fly under the radar.
  6. Hardman candidly admitted that, by that point, "I was so checked out, like, it was over with. I had already talked to (KC GM Brett) Veach and Pat (Mahomes), like, ‘Come get me.’" Two weeks later, he was traded back to KC.” I guess I misunderstood this comment.
  7. A GM talking to a player on another team is considering tampering. Now there's nothing in the rules that players can't reach out to other players but some Jets players supposedly felt Hardman was giving competitors info about the Jets playbook which is another error but of course that's on him not his team.
  8. Just look at the top list from the class, you'll see some NFL names and some no names. It happens all the time. https://247sports.com/Season/2018-Football/RecruitRankings/?InstitutionGroup=highschool/
  9. Because Shorter was the top WR of his class coming out of high school so he's realistically a better talent than most other guys out there. Granted he may never have developed to his full potential in college and as a result may not in the NFL either. Only time will tell.
  10. To quote lawyers, previous success doesn't guarantee future success. While there's a chance KC could getting another franchise player from a loss of a pick due to a tampering charge it's highly unlikely.
  11. I agree Bates is being over paid, as obviously when we matched the offer Bears made it looked like he be a starting OG of the future which since has not happened. Yet do we keep him at that cost to replace Morse? Do we look for him to take a pay cut? do we cut him? I'm sure Beane will work his magic to lower Bates cap figure as it clearly not warranted.
  12. Andre Smith for the win.
  13. Toney is making $2.5 million in 2024 am sure KC can justify the contract considering how weak they are at WR, toss in who knows he may turn into the player he flashed as a rookie in New York.
  14. In a perfect world I'd draft Brian Thomas Jr. in Round 1, draft Cornelius Johnson in Round 5 and sign Noah Brown as an UFA to a two-three year deal.
  15. Mike Williams might also be a cap casualty, at 29 he still should have two-three good years in him and give us the size we've lacked at WR for years and underated speed as averaged close to 15 yards per catch for his career although it is trending downward. Shaheed is an exclusive rights free agent, it be nice to nab him but I can't see New Orleans letting him go.
  16. I really should look at all the names but guys have looked at liked before were David Edwards returns, good backup G and as we saw played a part as our 6th OL in certain circumstances WR Noah Brown, can be an outside #2 or a #4 gives us some flexibility in the draft S K'Von Wallace, played well under our new nickel defense coach in Tennessee last year. DT Bilal Nichols younger run stopper that might be a better investment than Da'Quan Jones.
  17. He seems to be an ideal guy for the Raiders to go after. Question is what the Jets would want as compensation, am thinking highest they could get be a 5th but that might even be too much.
  18. He was definitely was entertaining and memorable. While his spiel got old over time hill always be one of my favorites for calling out Doug Flutie for the fraud he was.
  19. Gotta wonder what would have happened had we kept Roland Mitchell. As Yes, we got Leonard Smith in the trade but Mitchell had a longer career.
  20. a low third rounder but with knowledge will be getting another 3rd rounder in UFA compensation and the 5th rounder from Green Bay. The way I see it is we traded down in the 3rd round from pick 91 to pick 166* (not sure what pick is due to compensation picks not awareded) and got Douglas. Assuming Douglas plays the 2 years of his contract (or more) it's more than a fair trade.
  21. I agree letting Douglas go is foolish. With question marks in the secondary of Hyde's return, White's availability etc. having something that was positive should be kept. For the very reason we don't have a replacement on the current roster, for if we did we wouldn't have traded for him to begin with. Now if they don't want to extend him I can understand that more but he's under contract for 2024 and I say let him stay and play.
  22. I'd rank them as Franklin/Worthy/Walker/Ladd. DJ to me the best talent evaluators of the talking heads, I also like Joel Klatt.
  23. Walker is a guy I'd hope fall to round 2 but he might not fall that far down.
  24. Mitchell is intriguing for sure. My sleeper for a Round 4 or lower guy is Cornelius Johnson as he might be a pure burner but he's got size, shows he can get contested catches and can break free from time to time.
