  1. Although I brought this option up we could still see Morse return on a lower contract or someone else to player Center before the season starts.
  2. It's a double edged sword with him. Personally as great as he been, he's not the true big nickel this defense needs.
  3. I hate to say it but I don't want Taron extended. He was not great much of the first half of the season and think the older he gets the less time he'll see on the field and result in over paying him.
  4. Extend his contract so it goes a few years longer but they void when the new financial year starts, Brady did this with the Patriots tons of times to keep his cap figure lower.
  5. considering how bad our special teams was last year maybe it a good thing we cut him.
  6. and tell me if we win that game do you clamor that Flutie should have started? Because when RJ finished things on the field and Christie made that FG we were ahead. Is RJ's fault we gave up the kick off return for the TD? Or does the win all that counts? because that's all I ever heard from Flutie fans is that he just wins, it doesn't matter how ugly. He was a glorified game manager and there's no way he would have outscored that Rams offense as their defense was one of the better in the league.
  7. Tom Brady to Tampa Bay maybe Desmond Howard to Green Bay could be debated.
  8. Managing any group of people is difficult. As every person is individual and not all individuals are always on the same page or agree with said management. What's worse if some athletes are somewhat coddled as they've always been the best and/or treated as though they're superior most of their lives. Toss in not all of them have much education passed high school level which evenso not equal everywhere. Throw money into the mix and sense of worth and got even more drama to deal with. Not easy but if you surround yourself with good people around you it makes your job that much easier.
  9. He's in my could be better than round they drafted in. I like him and Cornelius Johnson in that sense.
  10. Keeping one of the few lines together that played all 16 games last season makes sense. Yet agree like to see a swing OT and interior guy drafted on day 3.
  11. If we re-sign him David Edwards could start at OG
  12. He's only played a full 16 games once in five NFL season. He's fragile but could be a good depth guy.
  13. I can see 2 drafted and maybe an undrafted kid on the PS. Yet it be nice if can get David Edwards back for less than Bates was due.
  14. And a few 3rd round comp picks. Or flip for picks in the 2025 draft.
  15. McGovern can shift to C in a pinch and we could still draft a kid to serve Bates' role.
  16. If it's for the Bears 5th at the top of the round I'm good with the compensation since he wasn't starting here and over priced depth.
  17. Sucks? We almost lost him to the Bears as a free agent with no compensation, now we move him and get a pick out of it.
  18. Some would argue to draft a QB every draft too as if unearth a diamond in rubble could turn it into valuable draft picks. Ron Wolf had great success doing so in Green Bay.
  19. And he wouldn't count in the draft pick compensation formula since he was cut. I'd be willing to bring him in.
  20. Xavier Leggette is as close to Metcalf you'll see although some say his RAS is more Andre Johnson but he just doesn't have college production. Yet think he favorably compares to Eric Moulds too.
  21. The reason Zay was productive as he was he wasn't competing for balls in Baltimore. That's what people fail to look when look at performance. Most of Gabe's numbers came early before Kincaid became a more focal point of the offense. Zay had 26 more targets but less receiving yards and TDs than Gabe. So how is this an improvement? Toss in he doesn't have the size Gabe has. I'll admit at 28 the guy I like is Legette yet not sure he'll be as good as Gabe last year but he has a bigger upside than Gabe as he's faster.
  22. And Flutie was far from competent at the end of the 1999 season. Under Flutie we scored 19.6 points a game which wouldn't be enough against the 22 the Titans scored in the playoffs game. Here are Flutie's last 4 games. 22/40 220 yards 1 TD 2 INT 1 FL 2 sacks 15/32 184 yards 1 TD 1 INT 1 FL 3 sacks 21/32 239 yards 2 TD 2 INT 0 FL 2 sacks 22/35 212 yards 0 TD 0 INT 0 FL 3 sacks Oh and just a comparison Flutie's game vs the Colts in Week 1 vs RJs in Week 17. For those that feel the Colts weren't playing anything, they had a chance at the number 1 seed in the Conference had they won. 22/42 300 yards 1 TD 2 INT 1 FL 5 sacks 24/32 287 yards 2 TD 0 INT 0 FL 0 sacks
  23. The difference is Kelce also a physical mismatch as too big for a DB and too elusive for a LB. Stevie Johnson was able to free lance as a WR. While he was able to put up good stats I wouldn't but him in Diggs' class.
