It comes to this, do you want a back up QB that can win you a game? Then Fitz is the answer. Yet if you want a back up QB that won't lose you a game? Then the answer is Tyrod. Personally I'll take the first more then not especially since we don't have a lights out defense.
Croom is more of an H-back type TE and the only one on the roster so he could be helped by that. Toss in we've developed him in the last two years and we've kept 4 TEs in the past. Yet I never see him every being anything more than a depth guy, so to me he's not competing with Knox but instead Sweeney is the one pushing him if we elect to only keep 3 TEs this season.
Hughes is still in his early thirties and he seems to be a locker room guy that we should be able to re-sign. Ziggy could be added on a long contract or we could go hard at someone in UFA next year as still have plenty of cap room. Bigger need might be starting RB but might be able use a 1st Rounder on that.
LT Dawkins
LG Spain
C Morse
RG Long
RT Ford
Reserves: Nsekhe, Teller, Feleciano and Waddle.
Long and Feliciano's have played C in the league before but offer more position flexibility than Bodine. Yet I wouldn't be shocked if we keep him over Teller.
Nope their on a timer just like everyone else is, if no pick after time expires they get no pick and day 2 starts the next day with Cleveland on the clock, now when the clock restarts the I think the Pats could still draft someone but not sure they could trade the pick.
Gary, even before his injury was reported he was on my hate list. In part because Jim Harbaugh is an NFL caliber coach and if he could not get him to excel in the NCAA worries me a ton.
TJ Hockenson, the only team ahead of us that likely take him be the Jags yet unless the Raiders really over reach. Yet the Jags also need help all over the field so not sure TE their top priority.
If we stay at 9 I'd be over the moon with Q Williams or Bosa.
I'd be happy with Oliver, Sweat or D White.
I'd be okay with Hockenson, J Taylor, C Wilkins or Metcalf.
I'd be furious over Gary, Jacobs or anyone else
If Hock is there at #9 and Oliver is gone than I take Hock. If both are gone then I move down and take Wilkins or Fant or maybe Sweat or maybe one of the OTs (yet I don't like taking an OT with what we've done in UFA).
It was hard to dismiss Peterman as he was killing it in the preseason. That said not having a veteran to back him up might have been foolish but then again we got to see Josh and as much as doubted him he proved me wrong last season that he was just as ready to play as any other rookie QB.
I can't see Bosa sliding past 2. Q Williams could slide to the Jets pick but they need someone more like LB Josh Allen and why they want to move down but it maybe foolish as could see the Raiders taking him at 4 too. Of course the Raiders could take QWill if he fell.
Detroit might have issues with Hock as don't want to relive Ebron plus Patricia might want to help his Ds front 7. Jacksonville is a ? but Hock to them makes some sense with Foles yet they could go O or Dline or even Metcalf.
As a Bills fan I feel we go Oliver or Sweat. The LB White could be a sleeper to add. I'd also like Hock but part of me worries it could be Gary if all of the above off the board. The clamoring for Olineman earlier makes little sense with all we added there this offseason.
