Bengals will be the team to beat for years to come
The Jokeman replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
Boyd won't get a massive deal but might get a deal the Bengals can't match for a role player. As a team looking to improve their WR might give him a rich contract that enough to want to leave or feel more wanted is all I'm saying. -
Everybody's Feeling Stung right Now but please.....

I knew the Bengals were a tough matchup for our D so I wasn't too upset with losing. A little shocked our O wasn't better. But it is what it is, a good season that got beset by injuries when Von Miller went down I had doubts so didn't get as emotionally invested as did in prior years. -
Zach Davidson is intriguing if he shows he could be a TE/Punter hybrid yet not sure he'll get enough of a chance to develop.

KC is like the Patriots in that their division rivals aren't competitive which allows them to get wins abounds. I'll admits Mahomes is the best QB in the NFL too but his lack of wins against the Bengals and Bills in the regular season the last few seasons gives me pause. As Reid was great at leading Eagles to conference champion games too. The Bengals will be in trouble if Higgins and Boyd want to get paid and if their DTs leave in UFA or Hubbard gets a top deal elsewhere. -
Michael Thomas or Odell Beckham Jr.?
The Jokeman replied to thenorthremembers's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think we have a #1 WR an inconsistent #2/3 WR and developing #4 and an average starting TE. Yet need a reliable slot guy and 2nd TE. -
Shakir did look good yesterday, Romo mentioned he could be good contributor next year. He might develop but a to me like him in the 4th guy role and do more than McKenzie can as a catcher. Nobody was expecting Shakir to start. The thought was Davis be his playoff self in the regular season and Crowder/McKenzie man the slot. The last two weren't close to filling the Beasley role. Shakir was more of the developing young WR ala 2019 Davis.

Phillips, Shaq and Martin and maybe Marlowe be guys I'd want back as long getting paid less than $2 million per season. I like Singletary but think he might want more than we can avoid on a RB 2. I love Poyer as a player but his age and contract demands not worth it. Edmunds just to me just bad at diagnosing plays IMHO and rather see someone spend big money on him.

Here's the stat numbers from top WRs this year, note the two 1k guys didn't compete with a guy like Diggs for #1 looks. Do any of them look better than Davis' stats? -

I think Gesicki would want a prove deal and not sure he'd get enough looks here that allow him to earn a big contract the following year. Yet agree we need help in the slot and 2nd TE. If we do look at free agency, I think a guy like Greg Dortch could be a low cost good slot answer yet unsure of his RFA vs UFA status. -
Because Daboll's great offense in New York produced 7 points against the Eagles this weekend.

Free Agents and Offseason Situation
The Jokeman replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hopefully a team willing to jump up at end of the 1st for a QB and we can get a high 2nd and more. -
So...is it a rebuild or is it a try again?
The Jokeman replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Retool the offensive line. Find a cheap alternative to start in place of Poyer and Edmunds. Find a big TE that can block and offer RedZone help. -
Beane’s mediocre draft record
The Jokeman replied to Shanahan's Horseshoe's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yetur Gross-Matos was a 2nd Rounder in the same draft and started all 17 games for the Panthers this season. He had 2.5 sacks, I guess Beane was dumb for not trading up for him huh? -
Beane’s mediocre draft record
The Jokeman replied to Shanahan's Horseshoe's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because their 7th rounder wasn't splitting carries with Singletary or anyone that matter. -

6.5 sacks this season isn't poor production. -
Beane’s mediocre draft record

And you think Metcalf have the exact same production here without having a Russell Wilson at QB or a Lockett on the other side? As much as like to say all things are equal they're not. -
Beane’s mediocre draft record

And how many other teams missed on Metcalf? -
Beane’s mediocre draft record

You want to rip on Beans poor draft record it's on fair to bring up busts by the Chiefs if going to make a comparison. The Chiefs defense was statistical worse than the Bills this season. They also have one of the top 5 DT in the game in Chris Jones. Last I checked nobody on our Dline was that good. -

Part of it's opportunity and system. -
Beane’s mediocre draft record

And what has Jefferson gotten the Vikings to? Let's not rip on the Chiefs for taking Mecole Hardman over Metcalf because...? -
Beane’s mediocre draft record

Only because Clyde Edwards-Helaire got hurt/been a bust.
