I need clarification on the new rule. I thought I heard that OT would be a continuation of the 4th quarter (see 1st quarter going into 2nd) aka no coin toss. So in the case of the Chiefs Bills playoff game since the Chiefs scored the FG as time expired they'd have to kickoff the ball to us at the start of OT. If we score than we kickoff to the Chiefs, if they score more they win if not we win or if they tie the next score wins. Which then adds a new element is instead of milking the clock for a FG to tie does a team tie it sooner forcing the other team to get the ball "first"as time expires.

DJ is easily my favorite. As he is a former NFL personnel guy so he knows what guys are looking for. My least favorite is Todd McShay as I just don't feel he brings anything to the table except an opposing view to Mel Kiper.

With Boettger back and Greg Mancz signing it definitely could mean Bates is gone. I'd welcome bringing in another veteran OG/T to compete for the RG spot (as expected Stafford to be our LG). We'll find out tomorrow, I have a feeling it's going to be in the $3-$3.5 milion range.

Most stadiums these days also house restaurants etc and just aren't stadiums parse. The reason for less seats is you can justify making people buy PSLs because the ability to be in house will be even more limited etc. The NFL is about earning money and they can earn more by seeling 45k PSLs tickets with 15k tickets than just selling 70-75k tickets only.

How is Reed not an upgrade? Bates rated as a 64.3 from PFF and has started 4 games of 41 NFL games. By contrast Reed rated 67.2 and started 29 of 61 NFL games. Sure Reed is older and might not be as position flexible but he has shown to be just what Bates is, a serviceable backup and potential starter in this league.

because you can be secure in knowing that you have Mayfield as if he gets cut he could go anywhere he wants, case in point of Mitch Trubisky. Did anyone really expect him to sign to backup Allen last year? I know I didn't and who knows what ramifications it had on other teams that wanted him.

We might be lining up to sign another vet before giving up on Bates. We might as well and take our time to do so. One name I have seen sign anywhere is Chris Reed. He's been a solid veteran backup that's been on a few different teams the last 7 seasons. At the very least he's a veteran backup G.

Do we know for how much?

I really like the reports o read about Kyler Gordon. I know some worry with his forty but he ran in 4.5 range which not super slow like Levi Wallace's 4.6. He should be available at our top pick but wouldn't risk waiting til Round 2. Ideally we could trade down and get him early Round 2 and get another mid rounder in the move. If we wait for Round 4 Alontae Taylor feels like a guy that needs a little grooming but has good size/speed but needs to work on his tackling a bit.

Straight to Sabres is a mistake, these kids need to develop in Rochester first.

That play where it looked like he was going to take a sack but somehow found Foster for the TD was one for the ages. Yet he convinced me he was special in the infamous Clay drop game.

It's not unpopular anyone who watched this team knows that Beasley was a big part of our passing game. Yet it's also obvious that he not playing at the same level as when he first got here. Whether it be age, playing through injury etc. I think Josh working with Jordan Palmer in the offseason etc. shows he's committed to be as great as his physical gifts allow. Toss you can tell when he says he wants to bring this city a Super Bowl he genuinely means it. Toss in he's got that Tom Brady gene where I think he wants to be the best and wants to constantly improved. Aka intangibles that you can't get from a scouting report. As I'll admit I never expected him to be a top 5 NFL QB, I thought we'd be lucky for him to be top 10-15 as from his college play/scouting reports I thought he was going to be a QB that only relied on his physical gifts to will himself to be better yet instead Josh also taking the mental approach to learn to read defenses better, learn how to put himself in position to play better etc. Toss in he's got a great personality etc. Just an all around great guy and my favorite Bill of all time.

I agree Patriots aren't same without McDaniels and GM Belichick not as good as the coach. Saleh doesn't impress me and think Miami was foolish letting go of Flores for "the genius" as think he unproven.

He's cheap depth, I think we keep him unless a low round pick unseats him yet if Bates does return agree Ford on way out.

NO arguably has worse QBs than Miami.

Despite not having an elite pass rusher we last year we finished 10th in sack last season, we get sacks from rushing DBs and LBs. Now Miller gives us a presence we not had before.
