Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
The Jokeman replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tyleik Williams is my early thought of who to draft in Round 1, granted we still have the off-season of free agency before can say for certain. -
It depends, if he gets his ring then he go out on top etc. While he had moments this season it's obvious he can't do it consistently.
-
Problem with Maxx or Myles is you're also giving draft assets to get them. Now sure most rookies won't have the impact their first years but long term it might hurt. I'd love if we could add a veteran CB to replace Douglas and/or Hamlin. Jeremy Chinn's contract is up and be a nice add as he's only 26 yet not sure what salary he's going to command.

Is McD actually compensating for Beane?

He still has to be accounted for which frees up others to make plays. -

Which stud DT is on the market? I'm not saying it isn't a bad thought. -

Miller had 8 sacks in his first 11 games as a Bills. The injury did him in. It was a risk to sign him yes and it failed and yet we've still been a top 5 team. -
Torrence was been a starter since 1 of his rookie year. That's no small feat, as Juice Scruggs taken in same draft same round has only managed 19 starts the last two seasons. Everyone's favorite Chiefs took Kingsley Suamataia in the 2nd round last year and he was benched by seasons end. I could name more names. To call Keon lack of clutch is a misnomer as think he showed to be a playmaker before his injury. I remember his one handed ***** against the Seahawks, a run down the sidelines for another TD. Toss in he is a rookie, I'm pretty sure Cook isn't the same player he is now his rookie year. Truth is we are own worst critics I'd imagine 31 other team fans could only wish they've had the success we've had over last 5 seasons.

He worked with Vrabel in Tennessee. I wonder if this opens a door for Hyde? https://www.patspulpit.com/2025/1/29/24353011/mike-vrabel-patriots-reportedly-adding-bills-scott-booker-coaching-staff

The Chiefs are always one step ahead of the Bills...
The Jokeman replied to Awwufelloff's topic in The Stadium Wall
The 29 points the Chiefs gave up was the second most (the Bills had the most in 30 in the regular season tilt) they gave up all season minus the backups vs Broncos. I understand that the offense gets blame since we had a chance late but to be fair this is first time the Chiefs scored more than 30. It's a team loss but sadly I think it needs to improve if this team is going to finally get to and win a Super Bowl. He's under contract for next season. yet if the Chiefs win a Super Bowl I can see him retiring to end on a high note etc. -

Remember when the Bills had the best offense and lost a Super Bowl cuz they scored 17 points? We've lost the last two playoff games because our offense couldn't beat their defense with the game on the line. 13 seconds was lost because our defense couldn't stop the KC offense. The reason why the mantra that defense wins champions. -
I can't see a team trading him at his current cap number. Just cut him and look to replace him. Josh Sweat is probably going to be the big dog this offseason to sign but I'd rather go with guys that fly under the radar like Matt Judon (as long as he doesn't get elite money and Dayo Odeyingbo. Chase Young another guy I'd love to see but not sure he fits our locker room.
-
I've accepted the loss but demonstrating that guys who were drafted before our front office came in played a role in KC beating us the last 4 seasons. Can we blame our front office on missing out on better talent? Sure, in retrospect Von was a mistake but he was pretty good when he was healthy that first season, too bad for the injury.

I think Cooper wasn't completely healed and might be way we used him sparingly. Or some personal stuff that won't come out was going on. -

Shakir is our #1 WR if Cooper (or another vet) isn't brought back (in). Coleman might get more opportunities as he develops. James Cook and Mack Hollins disagree with you. -
and again why was Ladd so successful? He was given an opportunities because the WRs around him were sub par toss in plays the slot, how would we benefited having him? McConkey was in on 68.9% of the Chargers snaps, Keon was on 55% of the Bills snaps. If we draft McConkey then we take Shakir off the field and put who on the outside where Keon played? People talk about that Coleman can't get separation, he broke 4 tackles on 29 reception, by comparison Ladd broke 10 tackles on 84 catches. Keon had 7.4 yards of RAC per catch, Ladd had 4.8.

Kelce was drafted in 2013 Jones was drafted in 2016, before McDermott/Beane showed up on the scene.
-
I guess we could always be the Bears again.
-
Yes/no if you make enough connections/relationships you end up with another job somewhere, look at Marrone as an example.
-
i think Bernard can be amongst the guys on defense to build around, so long we don't over pay him.
-
Or KC has had mainstays in Kelce and Jones to go along with their super start QB Mahomes, who has Josh had that remotely come close to their talents? Gordon was the guy of guys I wanted to draft.
-
He's a 4th/5th DT. Personally I'd prefer getting younger. If we get an Edge defender in free agency I could see us taking a DT like Tyleik Williams possibly in Round 1.
-
I can't see Ferguson going anywhere. LS are usually long time players unless the team doesn't want them anymore and can't see us parting with him.

We had great separators in Beasley and Diggs. They weren't good enough either. Kincaid showed separation skills as a rookie. Truth is our offense is the least of our problems. Coleman has enough short area quickness that can be schemed open. Making him catch bombs is a mistake. -

Coleman yards per reception was better than any rookies drafted between 2021-2024 but yeah he stinks.
