He was good in his initial role, when we paid him more to expand his role and he failed it only made sense to cut him. I wish him good luck if he continues as a NFL player or as a restaurant owner as he seems like a great guy and teammate.
McDonald was replacing sure handed Beasley. Toss in he sometimes fumbles which not a good thing. I don't see a good reason to keep him with Hartley around and use his $2 million cap figure to help add depth at TE or LB or OT.
Kelly had a better OL, a better RB, 2nd WR for sure yet unfair to compare pre salary cap/free agency teams to post salary/free agents as in the old days quality players hardly ever moved.
The point being is even good teams lose good players or don't necessarily shore up holes in free agency. As to me the Chiefs still have a hole at LT, WR and DE and worse than they were at the start at UFA. Claiming the Chiefs GM is better than ours is a laugh as look back and understand the reason they got great production from their 7th Round RB last year was the RB they drafted in the 1st a few years ago was a bust. They had to trade for Toney because Hardman hasnt been a great 2nd Round pick at WR etc.
