They're young and came from "successful teams" as everyone wants to think they have the next Sean McVay (see young coach that develop a great offense and win a Super Bowl) within 3 years with the team.
We had 4 guys in competition for the job, Dodson, Spector, Klein and Bernard. Seriously team lose players all the time in UFA and can't always sign big name UFAs to replace them. Look at the Bengals who lost their 2 starting Safeties.
For what it's worth we didn't have Knox in the game and while he's not a great blocker he's our best blocking TE we have on this team, in fact not sure we had Reggie Gilliam dressed either. I agree Brown is a question mark but not sure we had our complete starting team on the field.
Beane added 3 starting caliber OGs in this offseason in McGovern, Edwards and Torrence. He also added a guy like Shell in who's started a few years. What else do you want him to do?
Murray's upright running style makes him an easy tackle, he isn't going to shake off a tackle but if he gets downhill lookout. We also haven't had a chance to see what Damien Harris can do with him being out with injury. I'm not worried about the offense yet the defense a bit concerning granted not seen Daquan Jones out there much and to me he the 2nd best Dlineman we have behind Miller. Also think we haven't seen Floyd regularly as we try and sort through backups. Pittsburgh got a jump on us yet as the game progressed I felt we were the better team.
Small LBs due to TEs emergence as being more used more in passing games as they become more athletic. Toss in we e never had a big nickel which were staple parts of McDermott's D in Carolina.
Ed was still going to make big money this year playing his 5th year option, which above average OT could we have signed for little to no cap space this off-season?
We talking minimum or maximum security? Am I with a cellmate? so many other factors yet I'd probably say zero as my wife be pretty upset with me when I get out.
