Some people don't have great relationships with their parents and talk to them on occasion or life can just get in the way and you don't get a chance to call.
Jackson is another one of those lengthy DE that this team seems to love because they can play inside or outside. If he fell to Round 2 I'd look at him if got a quality DT with our top pick and grab a CB or WR with our other 2nd rounder.
Schobel in terms of long term, as was here for 9 seasons. Yet Mario was probably a better pure pass rusher but only here for 4 years and one of those years he was miscast as an OLB.
Look at the WRs Worthy had around him Juju had 18 catches, Justin Watson had 22, Mecole Hardman had 12. Dustin Hopkins, Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown stats aren't great but only played a handful games.
I get he wants to set the market but based on other RB salaries and his production that's what the market says he deserves. If he balks at it let him walk.
Oh wow KC got a guy that to me looked like Elijah Moore. Good quickness and okay hands. He was at his best in space but didn't like the burner he ran at the combine. He was invisible in the Super Bowl until the game was all but over. I could see a healthy Curtis Samuel doing similar things for us tbh.
I wonder why those that hate on Coleman don't bring up we didn't take Xavier Legette at 32.
We almost signed LaVante David a few years back who is older than Shaq is now. Assuming he doesn't expect a big deal am all for kicking the tires on somebody that can fill our void at big nickel.
Until we see what free agents are added or removed it's hard to say what to do. I mean if we add a veteran Safety or CB and keep Hollins and Cooper or another vet with with speed and a vet or 2 depth D-Lineman than am okay getting a rookie with the 1st. Ideally I'd like us to land a rookie as be cheaper both in cap room and amount of picks needed to acquire etc. Toss in younger and have them for a longer time etc.
I suppose his higher floor is my appeal as I keep my expectations tempered with most free agent/draft picks as to many years expect great things and guys just don't live up to the hype and it's not worth building it anymore IMO.
One name that has speed and gets good separation I haven't heard mentioned yet is Tutu Atwell. Granted he is a slot guy but could also be in mix as return man too. Obviously not a #2 but maybe a #5 WR if want to use higher picks else where.
