  1. yeah...it's called getting a brain.
  2. This is too true! I mean, you are at a position in your life where you stand the chance of making more money than you ever could in your life....and you are going to tarnish it by acting stupid? You can't put the blunt down for a couple of months until the draft passes? Idiot! I don't care about the Wonderlic. This buffoon fails the common sense test.
  3. Depending on how the board falls, I take exception to Floyd at #1. Lets not forget that Buddy cleared the decks, and IMO, signalled to the rest of the league that we are going LT (and rightfully so) with #1. What I mean is, we let Bell walk, and only have 1 player at the LT position. You need atleast 2 going into camp- preferably 3 for projects and injuries- we are left with only Hairston. Don't give me the Levitre garbage because he is solid and should stay at LG. We only have Hairston. I don't see them whetting their chops for training camp fodder of LT contract casualties. They have to replenish the stock at LT, and after Bell left, you don't take a risk drafting a LT in the lower rounds when you have such a glaring hole staring you right in the face.
  4. There have been rumors that the Bills were looking for a hybrid LB/ safety to eventually replace Scott. This guy certainly appears to fit the Bill (no pun intented). I sure hope that he's not the Tim Tebow of LB's....
  5. Even though my wife and I have moved from WNY, we still visit regularly and I fork over lots of cash every year to watch the Bills and Sabres on DirecTV. I don't understand why the Bills were not built in downtown Buffalo to begin with. It makes no sense to be in Orchard Park, Niagara Falls, or anywhere else. Like UB being in Amherst. Makes no sense. Bulldoze those brown fields immediately south of the City, and put the stadium right there. Plenty of space for parking. Will get rid of those eye sores of old factory/ plants at the same time. I've always said that WNY is too small to have sprawl. There is no attraction to WNY, besides the Sabres and Bills, and the Falls. Let the Falls become Las Vegas East. But Buffalo should be consolidated with the Bills, Sabres, Bisons, zoo, UB, etc all in the downtown area. Forcing people into the area will force creative entrepreneurs to open restaurants, taverns, and other venues to keep the money in WNY. It would really help the City and region out by consolidating resources, and I think it should have been done a long time ago. I think of teams like Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Baltimore, Jacksonville, San Fran, KC, and Cincinnati with their stadiums right in the heart of their downtown area. Seems like a no brainer to me.
  6. I guess that Sapp is just "too big" to fail... I would have to agree. ESPN does an ok job finding its top notch talent, but suffers once you get past the 1st line. The NFL Network, IMO, has abysmal hosts. Case in point, the guy with the ears....goes to show you how much of an impact they have as I can't remember the name...reminds me of a Ferengi out of Star Trek: The Next Generation, is horrible. What were they thinking with that hire? I don't want to mean to the guy, but... And this is off topic...but I cannot understand why all of the networks can't find a really hot woman to either a.) be a sideline reporter, or b.) co-host one of the shows. The NFL Network keeps hiring these run-down, unattractive women, and none of the networks (Fox, CBS, NFL, ABC/ ESPN) can hire anything worth looking at to handle the sidelines. I'm almost to the point where the producers are literally saying "ok, it's time to hire a lady, but let's make sure that she is definitely not smokin' as it would just be too much of a distraction." Would it kill them to find some hot women that can talk football?
  7. Have you ever heard of Anthony Munoz? Jake Long? Heck, where was Boselli taken? The devil, you say!
  8. How can you not understand that LT is perhaps THE biggest need on the team- after having addressed the pass rush in free agency? Bell signed with Philly, and we have Hairston- who will only be going into his second year and was deemed a project by some and was injured last year- as the only viable candidate. Add to that we really haven't had a good player there since Peters left, and that the talent pool in consideration with our draft position is perfect, what's not to love?
  9. We....better...not....draft...another...freakin' RB...in....the...first....round.... Seriously, I don't think that he'll make it to the 10th pick, and I could see a team like Tampa in desperate need for a guy like Richardson. I think that this is nothing more than exploring "what if" scenarios and to create confusion and a smokescreen about their true intentions. I'm thinking either LT or WR in the first round...and with Bell now gone to the Eagles...LT for sure. Then if the DE from Syracuse is left in the 2nd take him.
  10. Makes me lament the Gregg "Hit Man" Williams and "You're Full of" Mularkey days when they just couldn't find a way to incorporate little Roscoe into the offense. First off, the league is a rip-off league and second...how is taking Roscoe ruining our plans? We already have our reliable slot receiver. Agreed. Solid WR, dynamic kick returner. His talents were never properly utilitzed by Donablow and Co.
  11. Yeah, but think about it...this plays directly into the Bills hands. Fullbacks are hardly dynamic playmakers who gain thousands of yards rushing per season. Bringing in FB's to help block is taking players from other positions (namely WR's) out of the game. This would make them not only incredibly slow and methodical, it would increase the possibility of turnovers and sacks.
  12. This is a tough one. I hate all of them- to a point. It was really neck-and-neck for me, between the Dolphins and the Cheatriots. I hate the Jets fan for being so incredibly mentally inept...but I give them credit because if they are falling behind, they become huge critics of their team and pipe right down. I hate the Dolphins for that darn arrogant, classless, ego of Miami teams. Even if they have their butts handed to them on a regular basis, they continually are quoted as blaming something else rather than giving proper credit to the team that kicked the snot out of them. Marino's Dolphins were classic at this. Despite 4 consecutive Bowls, they never gave the Bills their proper respect. But I hate the Patriots the most because of the dynasty that they have had up until recently. A decade of being dominated and exposed sours quickly.
  13. No, that's what happens when you take steroids and GH.
  14. Whitner over Ngata set the franchise back 2 years in terms of draft picks alone... ...and Orakpo or Oher would have much better choices over...ahem...Maybin...
  15. Well, it's right there for us all to see. The Bills are not playing into Bell's contract demands, and have let him be free to explore. That leaves us only Hairston at LT. Pears is very effective at RT, so he's not moving. I see the Bills going LT with their 1st pick. Then they may revisit it again in rounds 3-5. I wouldn't be surprised to see them go after a WR, DE or CB in Round 2.
  16. You don't know too much about football, do you? To be honest, the play on the field and the health of the squad will determine everything. With the Bills recent spat of injury plagued seasons, if Mario Williams goes down that would be a huge blow. If Merriman is done, that is another. Or if Dareus goes down. Anderson could flop. It can happen. But I don't think so. The 1 critical element missing from the Bills was a consistent pass rush. Now they've got one. They can afford Merriman to not return, if it was to happen. They have some talent AND depth. Add to that any potential draft picks with additional talent, and we could have 3-4 pass rushers on our hands. Not to mention waiver wire and camp cuts. But I digress. My original question was that you don't seem to know much about football. Or the impact that a sustained pass rush can have on opposing defenses. IF the Bills can consistently get to the QB to disrupt or never allow the QB to get into the desired "rhythym", that is a huge factor. Increased pressure in alot of these timed offenses will...well...ruin the timing of the darned thing. If not sacks, then interceptions should increase, as a sustained pass rush makes a QB skittish, and becomes a situation whereby the QB throws more balls prior to be 100% set and ready. These makes for less accurate, off target, errant throws that have DB's licking their chops to get at some of those. Then the whole sack dynamic, and how it feeds a defense, forces an offense to account for it. But when you've got the Lake Effect Pass Rush of Dareus, Williams, Williams, and Anderson/ Merriman...look out. Our crowd will eat it up. Buffalo will be a tough place to play again. The 'O' (providing health does not betray them again) will take the field, and open up the fast attack and all of a sudden, these teams are playing from behind, which will force them into pass- first mentality...which...will again FEED THE BEAST of a pass rush that we should have. These signings have the potential, to send the Bills over the edge in terms of success. From mediocre to unbillievable!
  17. Something about this is catchy...I like it.... ...but, this is pretty good, too....
  18. Wow. Depending on how the season actually plays out (like, everyone stays healthy), this could be the most fearsome D-line the Bills have fielded...ever.
  19. I'm torn on a WR. I like them building the lines more than working on the outside. I think Stanford LT- Jonathan Martin should be our #1 choice. Marcus Easley is being forgotten here- even though he has not proven durable. I also wouldn't rule out any possible trade on draft day- though in the NFL trades are rather rare. I don't know. There are still holes on the Bills roster. LT, WR, CB, and OLB. Nix has indicated that this year the draft is deep in linemen. Maybe we do draft a WR in the 1st, but with our spate of bad luck drafting at that position (Evans, Easley, and Hardy), I am a bit concerned over using such a high draft choice for the WR position. And we could really use to solidify the LT position for years to come.
  20. I originally didn't like the signing because it reeked to me of desperation- like the TO signing. Throw into the fact that he was a walking steroid before getting busted (and any professional athlete will state that only the stupid ones get caught), and he's never been the same. But as a Bills fan, and removing said players previous reputation aside, I would love to see him atleast come back to a serviceable, consistent pass-rush threat, even if it is situational. I agree with your overall point and find the idea of the Bills cutting him when Nix has publicly stated that he is in the fold after the signing of Mario Williams that $1 million in bonus is a fart in a bucket for modern sports. Really meaningless. I will also agree that modern science and surgery have advanced greatly. But I diverge from your thinking because I don't see it as a given. Tendons and ligaments are tough to fix and return to full ability.
  21. Miami is a funny team. Even when Marino played, they could never find a quality running game to make them multi-dimensional. Therefore, besides the one against the 'Skins, they never made it back to a Super Bowl. Over the past decade, I think that it could be argued that the Dolphins have been closer to being a solid team that the Bills. But just like the Marino era, they have pieces that look like they are establishing something, then flush it all away by not building upon it. They were a beast with Ricky Williams pounding the ball. But they never solved the QB situation. They've had excellent WRs, but something is always missing. What makes me delight in their difficulties is how arrogant they are. Last game where the 'Fins DB's were head-hunting our WR's, and the officials did nothing...reminds me of the Gregg Williams stuff of trying to knock players out of the game. I'll be happy to see them fall apart.
  22. This is a completely jealous comment that Buffalo should not be the punching bag anymore, and that Brady will now have to be sacked alot more when he plays the Bills. I can't remember Kraft making comments about Daniel Snyder's spending on such notable free agents as, say...Albert 'Fat Al' Haynesworth and the like. Or Jerry Jones' free spending ways. The Pats dynasty is fading, and they are coming back into the realm of mortals and this is nothing more than sour grapes. "bah, wah, wah, waaaaah. We're not great anymore!"
  23. I could not agree more. I always said that pre-Super Bowl days, Kelly opted to play in the USFL with the Houston Gamblers rather than come to Buffalo. Bruce Smith did not like it. Cornelius Bennett always scoffed at Buffalo the City. Thurman Thomas was so pee'd off at the rest of the league for not drafting him in the 1st, he gladly came to the Bills to get revenge on all of the teams that did not draft him. In other words: no one wanted to come to Buffalo. I could not agree more that now with Super Mario, the Bills have some major help in selling the team to other free agents. The 3 days did stress me out some, but in the end it proved to be worth it. GO BILLS! I wasn't going to re-up my Sunday Ticket...now I don't really have a choice!
  24. Once they finally cleaned house and kindly showed Tom Modrak the door, I was sold. Donahoe, Guy, and Modrak should have been fired all on the same day. This front office knows what it is doing.
  25. Now that we have our pass rusher, I think that we'll sign a WR in free agency. That being said, I think Stanford's LT Martin will be our pick in the 1st.
