  1. It's not Vick running the ball that concerns me. I actually think we can contain that as much as he can be contained. I worry more about Desean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin slicing and dicing our secondary like Ginsu Knives with really quick feet. I think that the Bills strategy tomorrow should be to score a ton of points early running the football, because I don't think there is a defensive advantage we have at any one position, and the Eagles have proven thus far to be a little weak against the run.
  2. Why am I a bandwagon fan? Let's put it this way. I love the Bills. Even when I was mad at them, I watched them....couldn't stop, really...but just because I choose to live in what I consider a better place, (and that "better place" being FLORIDA, I do understand that is STRICTLY a matter of opinion) I'm a bandwagon fan? If you've been watching since 1996, I've been at it a hell of a lot longer than you. I do like the Andre Reed avatar, though. Dude should be in the Hall.
  3. I'd qualify as a fan who TRANSPLANTED to Western New York right before the Super Bowl years, so I've got a little bit of both in me, I'd say. Still, I feel ya. In the early '90s, everybody had Bills jackets and all sorts of Bills gear. You don't see a lot of that anymore. Here in Florida, where a lot of New Yorkers wind up, I do see more of it, especially at Dolphins games when the Bills, Jets, or Giants play there. I would love to, just ONCE, be able to shove it up a Bostonian's ass...just ONCE! They win everything now, it seems! And I do mean shove a SUPER BOWL victory up their ass...in case there was any confusion.
  4. He's pissed. His team is 0-4. I don't see the big deal. I don't like reporters, either, and I don't even play football.
  5. I hearken back to a game in 1995, Bills vs. 49ers. The Bills lost that game on an eventual (Darrick Holmes?) fumble at the goal line that (Gary Plummer?) returned all the way for a touchdown. The 49ers were the Super Bowl champs at that time, and the Bills played them to the wire on their turf. I thought that was a game that sorta made the Bills believe who they were and was a GOOD loss, if ever there was such a thing. I know this isn't the '95 49ers, but there was SO MUCH hype about the Bills after last week's win, I almost wonder if a good knockdown game isn't some good medicine for this young team. Again, no loss is a "good" thing, but they can be learning experiences. Perhaps this can be one.
  6. Great point. This team is still not a Super Bowl contender, whether they won today or not. We're hoping for playoffs here. Next year, with another draft and free agency period, we're hoping for a playoff WIN. The year after, if all that pans out, is when you can start looking to be REAL contenders. Maybe a little faster than that in this fast paced NFL world, but seriously...anyone who had dreams of the Super Bowl in New York this season (seriously? did I just say Super Bowl and New York in the same sentence?) was not being realistic. 3-1 is just fine for me right now.
  7. If the refs get that Stevie Johnson call correctly, it probably would have changed the outcome of this game. It was a horrible call and I don't understand how they got it so blatantly wrong. (These are the things I remember about being a Bills fan) But to me, it came down to the fact that as poorly as that quarterback played in the first half, the Bills didn't make the adjustments that the Bengals made in the second half. Dalton was completely different in the second half, throwing different passes and finding one on one matchups, and it looked to me like the Bills didn't expect them to change things up. Defensively, they looked really off balance in the second half. But look, the Bills are 3-1 with a crucial game next week. I think we all knew going in that the defense was going to be a problem. The "O" couldn't bail them out today, and that just happens sometimes. I'll start worrying in a few weeks if the losing continues, but for now, let's hope they just learn some "bending but not breaking".
  8. It looks like that was actually BEFORE a game.
  9. The last one of those I saw was about the Bills signing Terrell Owens. I guess it gets used for a lot of different things. Funny, though.
  10. Am working on it. I went to confession today. The priest told me to do 100 Hail Marys and have a six pack of LaBatts Blue. As I said before. I understand the NFL, and my patience is better. Someone above said that it's just sweeter when you've suffered through the pain. I'll contend that I still have, as I didn't quit watching until 2008. I sat through that Browns game. That was pure hell.
  11. I loves me some Jackson, but the best back in football?
  12. I disagree. Bush doesn't suck, he's just not utilized correctly by Miami. They are trying to run him between the tackles, and that's just a crying shame. New Orleans is using Sproles the exact same way they used Bush, and that's why he is as successful as he is being. Bush isn't a feature back, and neither is Spiller at this point. But, to humor you, yeah, if we used Spiller like New Orleans uses Sproles, and previously Bush, I think it would fit into their offense much better.
  13. I don't think I'd make him a Wide Receiver. That would only further delay his learning curve. Instead, I'd be more tempted to use him like a Reggie Bush or a Darren Sproles. Get him out in space. In my opinion, that seems to fit our offense better, anyway.
  14. Thanks! I'll just get in my car and head on back to Losertown with my fellow Losonians, where I belong. Wanna come with me?
  15. UUUhhhh...well, you know us Floridians...we can't vote properly, we can't handle the cold, we can't understand the punchline of what appears to be a really good joke.... So, um...I'm going with "tuck and roll"? Good to be back!!
  16. Thank you. No, I don't think it ever truly did. What is it about this team that gets into people's blood? You look at these Florida teams....the Bucs were on the verge of the playoffs last year, and couldn't sell out their stadium. The Jags and Dolphins have the same problem. But, the Bills, as bad as it ever gets, still regularly sell out that stadium, and for SUCH a small market team, they have a very good out of state following. How do they do it?
  17. LMAO!! The "Shout" song is actually my Windows Startup Sound. I did love Flutie in '98, but I was for the Rob Johnson move in '99 and '00. However, I did purchase some Flutie Flakes at the end of the '98 season on ebay! As for Aaron Maybin...euh. I STILL shiver when thinking of that failure! I do have three children, and fortunately, a very understanding wife. And, you're right. It IS Miller's Ale House. No..was never a Dolphan, really. I watched them because they were on TV, but if you were to ask me who I liked during this hiatus, I would have told you the Bucs were my team. I can't bring myself to jump into enemy territory like that. I will say that I did go to the two Bills games in Miami in '07 and '08. I was cheering for the Bills, and wearing Bills colors. There are a LOT of Bills fans that go to Dolphins games. We won the game in '07, but lost the '08 game.
  18. I kinda figured I did. Way back in the day, Yahoo had a Buffalo Bills message board. I posted there for several years, but I guess they have done away with that place. This seems like the primo place to not only post, but get up to date Bills info.
  19. I tried to go to that bar once, but even though it was a "Bills Backers" club, there were FAR TOO MANY Bears fans in the house, and they moved us to some small TV in the back. So, I started watching the games at Buffalo Wild Wings on International Drive. Last week, though, I was at the Orlando Ale House on West Colonial near Hiawassee.
  20. You know...thinking about it a little, I'm not even 100 percent sure I truly turned my back. I was keeping up with the team. I was monitoring what they did. I was watching them when they were on TV. I knew who they drafted. I knew their player movement. Even last year, they were a fun, fun team to watch. I decided to watch other games instead of the Bills games. But, I never bought a Bucs jersey. I don't even have a Bucs coffee mug. I still have ALL my Bills stuff. Even watching the Bucs games, I never got INTO it like I did with Bills games. I think what I was really doing was just watching something else because the Bills were so bad. Thank you, Sir. It DOES feel good for the Bills to seemingly be relevant again. It could all come crashing down around our ears as soon as this Sunday, though I really kinda doubt it. There are a couple of good "barometer" games coming up. We shall soon see! Either way, the fanbase has my allegiance from now until the Buffalo Bills no longer exist. You can take that to the bank!
  21. I always like to lean towards honesty. I could have just said that I'm a "long time Bills fan that just found this forum", but I'm just being straight up with everyone.
  22. Cameron Wake comes to mind right off the top of my head. I won't mention another name, but it rhymes with Spootie. Can't argue your point. I'll accept it. Just know that I am staying on the wagon until such time that the wagon never rides in Buffalo, anymore. (Unless, of course, they become the Orlando Bills one day!)
  23. Thank you! Love the Avatar, by the way. The Bills/Dolphins rivalry isn't what it once was, but I have attended two Bills games in Miami. Unfortunately, one of them was in 2008. That was a bad, bad day.
  24. Normally, I would think that a Bandwagoner might be an accurate depiction of me. However, I didn't jump ship after the Super Bowls. I didn't after the Flutie/Johnson debacle. I didn't after the Music City Miracle. I didn't after several years of no playoff runs, the 3-13 season, the choke job against Pittsburgh's backups. What REALLY made me do it was the collapse of 2008 COMBINED with the fact that I ASSUMED that since they were playing home games in Toronto, that it was just a matter of time before the Bills were packing up and moving out of town. Still doesn't make it right, but I hope that at least makes it UNDERSTANDABLE.
