  1. What grade would Bucky Brooks give the Bills for wasting a 2nd round pick on himself in 1994? He should be ineligible to criticize the Bills drafts.
  2. Even Kordell Stewart came on to praise the ability of Gailey to design an offense around Cam Newton. He's such an exceptional athlete that it is clear that the best fit is right here in Buffalo. If he's there, we should take him.
  3. I started going to a real church a couple years ago, and it's done a lot for me and my family. If you're a Christian, you believe that it's a very simple thing. Your time here on Earth is brief, and when you're done you can either go up or down. It's easy to go up. Just believe. That's it. It's that simple. My next door neighbor died last week. He was 52. When he was in the hospital in a coma, I felt compelled to go in there and see if he was right with God. His family was not sure. We prayed for him, because we'd like to see him again some day. I hope that helped him. He was a good neighbor. This has nothing to do with football, except that a lot of people believe that God gives people like Jim Kelly the talent to do what he does. Some people might believe that now Jim's gift is to share his faith with the world. I should mention that the church I attend is the one that Kurt Warner was going to when he led the Rams to the Super Bowl title, and Kurt used that platform to share his faith in God. Is that weird or what? From grocery store bagger to Super Bowl MVP. To praise God. Maybe one person reading this might just think about what a gift it is to wake up in the morning, and maybe you will be moved to do something spiritual. To the cynics, I hope you find your way to a great life. I hope so. Go Bills.
  4. "Feeelings......whoa whoa whoa.....feel you...again in my arms!"
  5. My original thought was that the Bills were not the only ones who rated Maybin that highly. And there drafts are usually viewed as sensible at first glance. However, the drafts have not turned out well. Who would've thought that McCargo, Losman, Maybin, even McKelvin and Lynch would turn out to be busts. Somewhere along the line somebody has to play up to his potential. Look at Pouncey! Late first rounder, pro bowl. They could use a little good fortune for a change. Can I delete my own thread?
  6. This guy Rick Gosselin had us picking Maybin in 09, saying the Bills needed a pass rush guy, and Maybin was it. There were others who had Maybin ranked higher than Orakpo, Matthews, and others. My point is, in this case, the problem with Aaron Maybin is not the Bills selecting him. It is Maybin's inability to play to his own potential. I was at a game in KC in 09 during which he tackled a guy, and I thought, man that was a big hit. He has the physical tools to play football. I think when he carved his initials into his head, he pulled a muscle in his football talent. I think the Bills have had horrible luck drafting. They've only had a couple picks that were criticized....amazingly enough, Donte Whitner is probably the best number one pick they had in years, and he's leaving. Losman was coveted by others. I'm babbling. I'm hoping they make the right choice with #3. Trade out of that position. I think the best choice at #3 if Peterson. But I'd rather have a dominant quarterback. <edited thread title for clarity>
  7. I keep seeing guys we passed playing great football. We took Maybin. We chose not to take Oher, Matthews, Orakpo, Cushing. Those guys were all being considered. They were all passed for a guy who can't even play football. The others have been studs. There's no excuse for the drafting of these idiots. We chose Losman over Polamalu. Pittsburgh keeps taking guys like Pouncey. What about New England with Mankin? The list goes on and on. It's hard to get worked up about the draft any more. Even Spiller over Bulaga was a joke.
  8. He drives dealer trades for the place where I sell cars. Martin Gabbert is his name. He's a good guy. I called him because I needed somebody to go to KC to pick up a new black Silverado 2500 Crew Cab Turbo Diesel.
  9. I think Gabbert will end up being a great pro. He was the number one rated Pro-style quarterback coming out of high school (ahead of Andrew Luck). He's big, has a fantastic arm, and is an excellent athlete. I don't think the Bills should take him with the 3rd pick in the draft. But I do hope they end up with him. In fact, I was on the phone with his grandfather the other day, and I told him I'm a Bills fan and I hope they end up with Blaine Gabbert. And my dad's name was Blaine, so I think he would have felt better about that name (he hated it) if Gabbert became a star with the Bills.

  11. There are bad picks, and there are ridiculous picks. Bad picks make the team and play mediocre. Ridiculous picks, like Maybin, hold out, shave crap into their hair, and flat out suck. Dude can't even do special teams. McCargo....wow. Losman. Flowers. Williams. Bad picks: McKelvin seems to be a mistake at #11, Spiller? Jury's out....I think it was a bad pick at number 9. Number 9 is supposed to come in and start and be a difference maker. We are a bad drafting team.
  12. The guy was an a-hole for wearing a Packers tie to work the day after a gut-wrenching loss to the most hated of all rivals. As Bills fans know, it takes a while to get over losses like this. I am a car salesman. I would not dream of wearing that tie the day after a game like that. It's rude. It's mean. I don't buy the b.s. about the guy's grandmother either. Earlier this fall, Missouri was playing Nebraska on a Saturday afternoon. One of our salesmen was cheering for Nebraska....being a jerk about it. My boss, who went to Mizzou, advised him to dial it down a notch, or he might get his ass kicked....by a customer. The manager at this dealership in Chicago was right asking him to change ties. The day after that loss, if he condoned the guy wearing that tie, it would be a slap in the face to his customers, many of whom are surely Bears fans in mourning. The salesman was a jerk. I'm surprised his comrades didn't escort him to the curb.
  13. I had one of those, and wore it for every game after that for years till my pet bird had a heart attack during a game. I wrapped the bird in the shirt and planted him in the back yard.
  14. He was the top rated pro-style quarterback in America as a senior in high school. He's really fast, and he has a gun for an arm. He can throw the ball 60 yards so hard you could hang laundry on it. And he's tough. I would not take him with the third pick.
  15. Was it necessary for additional piling on the Bills today? I don't remember anybody writing anything around the time of that trade about the Saints having interest. At the time, didn't they have a good RB situation? Green Bay was the team that was mentioned as wanting Lynch. Turns out the guy from Buffalo in Green Bay had a good game today too. I believe if the Saints wanted Marshawn Lynch badly enough to give up a 3rd round pick, they would've called Nix and made the deal. Was Glazer the guy who declared during July that Favre was retiring? That was stated as factual information by some talking head, and turned out to be BS too.
  16. I think the concept was really funny, and could've stood on its own merits. It didn't need anything. Here's another example: a few years ago in the chat room, somebody said, "the Bills could use a turnover." and somebody said, "What kind, apple or cherry?" That was followed by about 90 different types of turnover jokes. When the premise only needed the first one. That was the funny one. Just like the concept of a useless player's jersey signing up for its own Twitter account. Good one.
  17. The comments that follow the concept are meaningless. The concept of creating a Twitter account for Maybin's uniform is really funny. It's a one-note, Onion like concept that should stand on its own merit as excellent parody.
  18. It was interesting to hear one announcer claim that Seattle got Lynch for a 4th and 5th, what a steal, and the other guy mentions that this was the first time Lynch had a run like that. Even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while.
  19. I've watched Gabbert many times, and I believe that he has a phenomenal arm. Anybody see the Insight Bowl? He threw for nearly 500 yards, including several extremely accurate long tosses. He was the top pro-style quarterback recruit in the country his senior year of high school. He's big, fast, and tough. I think he definitely has the strength to work the ball in Buffalo weather. I don't think he's worth the 3rd pick, but if we found somebody in the top 15 who really needed to move up, I'd try to get Gabbert on this team. I remember when we had the 4th pick, and I was really hoping they would trade out of that slot, because one player wasn't going to make a big difference. Turns out the guy they picked didn't make any difference at all, except in the width of Ralph's wallet. Mike Williams!!
  20. I just saw the replay of the celebration call in the Syracuse game. I think that may go down as the worst call of its type in the history of sports. He made a great play for a touchdown, dropped the ball, and saluted. Not in anybody's face. For all we know, he's got friends in the military. Unbelievable. Whoever threw that flag should never officiate another game. Period.
  21. My dad's name is Blaine, and he took crap his entire life. He'd get mail addressed to "Elaine," "Blair", and my favorite, "Baline." I've seen Gabbert play a lot. He was a 5 star recruit out of high school, and does possess a great arm and is really fast. When he's on, he's excellent. He had a couple bad games where I was convinced somebody had dropped LSD into the Gatorade, but for the most part he was really good. He's put his name into a study, and if he comes out as a projected first round pick, he'll probably enter the draft. Check him out tonight on the Insight Bowl at 10 p.m. East Coast Time, vs. Iowa.
  22. That was a total injustice. They made up the call on the spot. Nobody had ever heard of it, it had never been called.
