  1. Seantrel may have caused the situation, but Manuel could have thrown it someplace else than in his lap. There's a whole universe in front of him, and he chooses the ONE PLACE to NOT THROW THE BALL.
  2. The guy had a hand on him the entire route, and that's a penalty. An obvious one. I'm starting to feel a trickle down effect from the New England regime. We were in first place alongside the Pats. Not any more.
  3. Our OC is lost. Why did he hire a guy with zero experience in the NFL, other than hanging around watching his dad learn the west coast offense?
  4. We should have won this game by at least 14 points. The decisions made by our Quarterback are very puzzling. I don't think he's got quarterback smarts. The lack of a penalty on the last play was total nonsense. That guy was leaning on Woods for about 18 yards and wedged him off his route. Minimum 5 yards and a first down.
  5. Sure you did. The pass to Sammy on the slant in the first was about 150 mph
  6. I was as angry at this game as any in recent memory. We let them off the hook at the end of the first by allowing conversions twice on third and long, and with our db making a horrible play on the td. Then the non-spike was absurd, followed by the 3 yard pass in bounds. Idiotic. All the timeouts were long gone because EJ had to walk to the sidelines to find out magical plays that accomplished little. Then the handoff to Watts for pick 6 after we got the ball on their 20. 14 point turnaround. We should have been up by 20 at that point. Pinned at the 1 yard line, I might have punted on first down. Twice. EJ's in over his head. He should be depressed.
  7. The guy had his hands on Woods almost the entire route, re-routing him. HTF do they not call that? One of the worst losses in a long time. The pick 6 was absolutely horrible on EJ's part. He gift wrapped the game to them. We should have been up 20-0 by that time.
  8. I was on my way to lunch and started thinking about all these weapons they have given to EJ Manuel, and he is not using them much. He should be able to find Woods, Watson, and Williams open on just about any play, and our tight end can run routes too. So can the guys out of the backfield. He has not shown the presence to put the ball in the hands of the receivers. He has had ample time till the San Diego game, when the wind and the rush affected him way too much. I hope he settles in.
  9. Rotten pick. And we traded up to get him. For the record, I was hammering home a point to draft Russell Wilson as high as second round. I am a Wisconsin fan, and I could see what was going on with that dude. I was pissed when Seattle took him.
  10. I understand why he did that. I wish he had gone for it. Does anybody remember the New England game in 02....we were tied for first place, and at home. Down by 7 or something like that, 4th and 2 from the New England 31. What do you do? Kick a field goal into the wind? Trust your offense to get you 2 yards? No, you're Gregg Williams. You punt. Result a 12 yard punt. Most gutless call I had ever seen. In that game, New England ran about 16 successful screen passes against our pretty good defense. Every single one worked. It is as if they knew our defensive calls. Of course, they did. That's how they won the game.
  11. Just looked at this. 53 pages about EJ. The Buffalo Bills fans are the best.
  12. Come on. Let's get real. Comparing EJ to Phillip Rivers is asinine at best. He's had 10 years. EJ has had 10 games. Give him a break. Anybody want to compare him to Sanchez? 5th pick? Joey Harrington? The Oakland guy? We are a work in progress...I'll take 2-1 right now. Let's go dismantle Houston and move forward. Anybody know what Phillip Rivers did in his first 15 games? ar Team G GS Comp Att Pct Yds Y/A TD Int Rtg 2004 SD 2 0 5 8 62.5 33 16.5 1 0 110.9 2005 SD 2 0 12 22 54.5 115 5.2 0 1 50.4 2006 SD 16 16 284 460 61.7 3,388 7.4 22 9 92.0 2007 SD 16 16 277 460 60.2 3,152 8.4 21 15 82.4 2008 SD 16 16 312 478 65.3 4,009 8.4 34 11 105.5 2009 SD 16 16 317 486 65.2 4,254 8.6 28 9 104.4 2010 SD 16 16 357 541 66.0 4,710 8.7 30 13 101.8 2011 SD 16 16 366 582 62.9 4,624 7.9 27 20 88.7 2012 SD 16 16 338 527 64.1 3,606 6.8 26 15 88.6 2013 SD 16 16 378 544 69.5 4,478 8.2 32 11 105.5 Total‡ 132 128 2,646 4,108 64.4 32,369 7.9 221 104 96.0
  13. Rivers was great. Reich called an awesome game. On the bomb over McKelvin, we had no safety help. Reich says he knew that, and that's why he made the call. The guy had half a step and made an incredible catch. They were running picks all day. The first bomb was the result of an effective pick. And on the play where we stopped them, they called holding on us....on a non-hold on the other side of the field. Gave them a first down instead of forcing a punt. They scored after that. It seems that the refs were quick with the flags yesterday. We need to get more pressure on the QB to affect these passes.
  14. We were out coached. Their game plan was excellent. And their QB played like a 10 year vet who has been to a few Pro Bowls. With good wide receivers. Ours played like a 2nd year guy with a shoddy game plan. I hope they learn a few things from this game. I agree with the post about that play on 3rd and 1. Big play. Bad play call. A first down would have come in handy. San Diego is a better team.
  15. Cyrus will eventually learn the pro game and be a very good player. He has size, strength, and intelligence.
  16. I like the signing of the linebacker Larry Dean. He is a special teams guy. He had 18 special teams tackles last year. Most signings like this one seem insignificant, but remember how much work went into cutting down to 53? This decision is bigger than those on cutdown day. He's gonna help.
  17. In Chan Gailey's last couple years, the Bills were a handful of plays from being 9-7 or even 10-6. I remember being thankful in a way that they weren't, because we would have kept Chan in charge. He clearly was not the man to get us to the promised land. I have no illusions about this week's game. I will sit with the same Bills Backers I've been with for years, and we will scream for the team. If we win, we will all leave wondering when the other shoe will drop. If we lose, we will leave thinking that the other shoe just dropped. And we will come back for more. God, I hope we win.
  18. Seantrel was the Offensive Player of the Year in high school, and was the top recruit that year. He clearly has the talent, but he had some issues. He appears to have overcome those issues.
  19. Appreciate the effort. I think it was even more obvious live. Especially the one on 4th down. How they missed that is beyond explanation. I've seen the refs throw flags when tackles shoulders shift, or a head moves. When the guy stands up and is back 3 feet before the snap...the play should have been whistled dead. What the hell. Game changer.
  20. I've seen refs blow the whistle when a guys shoulder twitches....or a wideout's head moves slightly. To miss 71 backing up before the ball is snapped.....absolutely horrid non-call. Game changer, really.
  21. 71 stood up early on at least 4 plays for the Dolphins, and was not called once. Especially on 4th and 3. Unbelievable that they missed that one. Miami would have been forced to punt.
  22. I just watched the E60 segment on Marquise. I hope they find a way to throw deep. If not, I hope he finds a job with a team that can take advantage of his speed. Then he can make enough money to build his sister that dream house. Great story. Throw deep.
  23. Home underdogs are always a good pick in the league. I just looked at USA Today, and all 9 of their experts picked Miami to win the game!! That's awesome. I will be ready to watch this Sunday, and I hope the team is ready too.
