  1. The season is months away. OTA's don't happen till after the draft. The Bills, with the Pegulas in charge, will do whatever is necessary. If signing Hughes is deemed necessary, their will be done. Come on. Adjust to the new owners, for crying out loud.
  2. I'm gonna stand by a well-coached EJ Manuel, who spent the last 12 games last year holding a clipboard. Which he should have been doing his rookie year as well. I'd rather have him than any of the hacks we're discussing here. Although I would look at Hoyer as a good backup. He did have some good games a couple years ago, and is as competitive as hell.
  3. I am just glad they didn't sign McCown or whatever his name is. Why would we want a 35 year old guy who got cut by Tampa? He's not even good enough to stay on the roster of the worst team in the league. Let's bring him in!! Are you kidding? I'm going to party it up a bit.
  4. I've been going to watch Bills games with our fan group for years here in St. Louis. Bill Weyman took charge of the group many years ago, and kept us going till he had some health concerns. He and his wife Janet were there every week. She was a Chiefs fan, but rooted for the Bills. He was a great guy. Very funny, and totally dedicated to the Buffalo Bills. I'm sad to think that we may finally get to the playoffs and Bill won't be there to help us celebrate.
  5. Naw. He had a few decent games, but some horrible outings as well. better off with what we got.
  6. I actually took time to find the clip, but fat-fingered the 40 time. It was unintended. Obviously 5.3 would not be the fastest time for a tight end. I read that Steve Martin ran the 100 in 4.6. He said he did it with shortcuts.
  7. Typo, man. I guess I was in a hurry. 4.58. I have no idea how I put 5.3 in there. That would be incredibly slow for a tight end. He's not a div. 1 guy, so maybe we get him in the 5th. He's a good football player. Jeez. dude, i was in a hurry. sorry about that. give me a break he was labeled as one of the top 5 surprises, though. know what? don't care. have a good day.
  8. There was a story in today's St. Louis paper about Mycole Pruitt. He went to Kirkwood, where Jeramy Maclin went. Right down the street where my son will be a tight end in a few years. He was one of 5 players featured on nfl.com as being standouts on Friday. He ran the 40 in 4.58, and I'm sure they know about him.
  9. Searcy made some big plays last year, but there were big plays to be made when you have a DL like that putting pressure on the QB. Before last year, had anybody really jumped on the Searcy bandwagon? Many thought that losing Byrd was a disaster. It was a disaster for New Orleans. We'll be okay. We have Lassiter too.
  10. He's been working out, apparently is in tremendous shape. He cannot be covered. He'll be long gone by the time the Bills pick.
  11. Bryce Brown was the top rated player coming out of high school. He ran into some trouble in college. While at Philadelphia, he had a couple huge games when starting for the injured McCoy. He had a reputation for fumbling, and he had a huge fumble in the loss to KC....at the end of a phenomenal run. He also caught some passes out of the backfield and showed some great moves and speed. I actually believe he will be the starter this year. I read someplace that the position of the draft pick was contingent on his playing time, and that may be why he didn't get more touches last year. But I would still like to see a healthy CJ with a great offensive coordinator and a functional offensive line. The more we can run the ball the less pressure on the quarterback. I just saw that Bob Griese threw 7 passes in the Dolphins Super Bowl win. 7.
  12. That was one of my points. Doug took him out after the game, and he never got a chance to come back. I think Manuel's head is probably ok from the play, but may have suffered damage from having to sit out the final 10 games as punishment.
  13. OP here. Thanks to you guys who pointed out the reality, which is that my brain isn't working very well today. Hoping for the best from EJ. His 2013 highlight reel is pretty good.
  14. One was the hit placed upon Trent Edwards by Adrian Wilson, the safety from the Arizona Cardinals. Our team was 4-0 and looking pretty good. Edwards was not great, but he was good enough to get them to that game undefeated for the first 4-0 record in years. On one of the first plays of the game, Wilson came through and knocked Edwards into the future. He was never the same. He never got it back. Last year the play that ruined the season of EJ Manuel was the pick six by JJ Watt. Prior to that play, EJ was good but not great, and was progressing like one might expect from the 16th pick in the previous draft.....not a franchise quarterback, but one who needs a couple years to get up to speed. We were ready to score against the Texans, and he threw that pass that Watt, well, you saw it. He was not the only player to be made to look foolish by JJ Watt. As a result, Saint Doug took it upon himself to declare that EJ Manuel is no longer the quarterback of the Buffalo Bills. One play changed everything. The difference is that Edwards was actually injured on the play, and perhaps that injury led to his long-term mediocrity. EJ Manuel made a mistake. People make them in games. All quarterbacks make mistakes. The way to measure the quality of a leader is to look at how he responds after he gets back up. EJ never was given that chance. Since he was not hurt, I think that he paid an unfair price for making a bad throw to the best defensive player in the NFL. Next time he won't make that throw, and the Bills go on to win the game. This is not an EJ thread. It's a thread about redemption. One guy's malady was physical. The other guy got beat by a great player. Maybe he should have not endured such a consequence.
  15. Snagging Tasker on waivers from Houston was pretty fortunate as well.
  16. Somebody asked if Kelly could lead our present team to the Super Bowl. Who knows? But this video will remind many of you what fun we had about 24 years ago.
  17. I would sign CJ if I were the Bills. He's got amazing skill. They just need to figure out how to use him Hint: Look at Doug's plan and do the opposite.
  18. He was awesome in college. Unanimous first team All-American, Defensive Player of the Year in the SEC. How bad can he be?
  19. Jeremy Maclin. Draft the TE from Minnesota in the second. Sign Hoyer and focus on EJ. Keep the foot on the gas. The new owners overspent for the team, so there's no reason to think they'll be cheap at any point.
  20. I like the support for EJ. If he was on the free agent list, I think he'd get some action. I'm gonna believe that our GM picked a good quarterback, and that the insane Doug Marrone got in the way. Anyway, it matters not what we think. What will tell the truth will happen on the field. I think they'll bring in a few others besides Tuel.
  21. DGB is like Randy Moss. He was cut by Mizzou, signed with Oklahoma and was ineligible last year, and declared himself draftworthy. Some have him going in the first. None lower than mid second. If he was there at 50 I would probably take him.
