  1. I'm glad for Goodwin. That story about him and his sister is awesome. He deserves the opportunity to succeed.
  2. Question wasn't who was the worst coach, but the most reviled head coach. I was furious at Gregggg for punting on 3rd and 2 from the Pats 31, most gutless call I'd ever seen. But what Marrone did? I despise him for that.
  3. Anybody remember last year when we beat the Green Bay Packers? Was that a fluke? We ruled over that Rodgers guy. And we have added a bunch of talent. 5-11? I just tweeted Rodak and asked him to find another team to torture. Quit. Quit now. What a rube.
  4. I thought the theme here was what we would do if we still had the #19 pick. We wouldn't get one of the top 2 QB's with that, and we can probably get #3 or #4 with our 2nd round pick. Also, let's ponder where we'd be picking if we hadn't made the deal for Sammy Watkins. I think we would have taken the tight end from North Carolina. We'd probably have won 6-7 games, and we'd be in a bad place again. Instead we have Sammy, Rex, Shady, Clay, the Fullback, Percy, Incognito, and no more Marrone. Good turn of events.
  5. Just can't catch a break, Buffalo. Freakin' Edmonton has 4 of the last #1 picks in the draft, and they still sucked.
  6. Hey, maybe things are turning around. Rex is here, he brought some great talent, and things look good. But I will truly believe the curse has been lifted when the Sabres win the Connor McDavid sweepstakes.
  7. The point of the original poster, me, was that this national commentator/expert had nothing to say. He also criticized us for overpaying Torrey Smith. Karaoke does evil things to mens' souls.
  8. He has developed a fondness for Karaoke. Wikipedia says "In the community, Balzer is currently a part of the unique Celebrity Karaoke event that has existed for 10 years and currently raises money for The Adoption Exchange. He was also on the original board for the Ronald McDonald House in St. Louis and was a longtime committee member for the Gateway Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society." Once you put down the guitar and sing to a video, you are no longer qualified to write about football. You write about touch football.
  9. Howard Balzer is in his 39th year covering professional football as a writer, editor and broadcaster. His connection with pro football began in 1976 with College and Pro Football Newsweekly, and since then he has been a featured columnist for The Sporting News, Pro Football Weekly, USA Today Sports Weekly and The Sports Xchange. His work can now be seen locally on foxsportsmidwest.com.
  10. I'm glad they woke up Howard Balzer to come on the radio and share such valuable insight. He thinks we overpaid for Charles Clay too! Does anybody not have foresight? In 5 years Clay's contract will be a bargain. If he's what they say he is, it's a great signing. Howard also said we paid too much for Shady. My favorite thing he said was that we paid a lot for Torry Smith. Good one. Nice research. Howard is a mastermind who knows football as well as anybody, but since he discovered Karaoke here in St. Louis, his mind is on Barry Manilow songs.
  11. I searched to see if I was repeating a topic, and I am sorry if I am. Just read the article about the Bills and their plans for the 50th pick. I would be happy if Whaley did what he did last year, which was to trade the pick for other choices. Unless there is one player available at #50 who jumps off the page as an obvious choice, there will probably be a few players that they would consider. There may be another team who really covets somebody available at that point, and is willing to give up a 3rd or 4th rounder to move up a few slots. New England and Miami used to do this all the time, and would end up going into the draft with 7 picks and walk out with 12. It makes the draft more fun to watch, and we end up with extra players.
  12. I like EJ with a good coach, a non-rookie OC and Head Coach, and all the weapons at his disposal. When you factor in the total mediocrity of last year's offense, it's sort of a miracle that they went 9-7. Tannehill doesn't do much for me. I don't get the scrote scrubbing of Miami by this guy. He actually said they got better by losing players. OK. And what are they going to do with that extra 5th round pick? Wait, they surrendered a 3rd for Stills. So maybe they didn't stockpile a bunch of picks like he said at the top of the article. What a moron.
  13. He wrote something about how the Bills don't know how to do contracts, because of the money in the Clay contract. The Bills contract with Clay is 38 mil/5 years, or 7.6 per. The Fins had transitioned him at 7 million. What's the big deal. Does anybody think that the contract for a tight end, or anybody for that matter, won't go up in 5 years? 7.6 million may be a bargain for an average tight end in 5 years. The Bills obviously see Clay as very important to their offense. They wanted him. They got him. They'll pay him. What's the problem? Schlereth just trashed them for not doing anything about the quarterback position in the offseason. What were they supposed to do? What quarterback was available to them that they whiffed on? Matt Cassel was in the Pro Bowl a couple years ago, and they basically gave up nothing to get him. Then they signed a guy who Rex has always wanted. What's the problem? Great offseason. Let's go!!
  14. Are we out on Clay? I thought we hand't presented him with numbers yet. Regarding Harvin.....we're basing this on one tweet because things have quieted down? If Rex wants him, I think they'll get him.
  15. Spiller, Carrington, Easley, Moats all came from that draft. They're all still productive. That doesn't suck. What sucks was the Troup pick instead of Gronk. But everybody whiffed on Gronk at least once in that draft. Everybody whiffed on Brady at least 5 times, including New England. Nobody drafted Jason Peters. It's fun looking back.
  16. Rack him. Not my money. It'd be nice to have a tight end who makes a difference.
  17. Regarding Urbik: wasn't he a waiver wire pickup from Pittsburgh? He played well enough for that status. To get a starter off the waiver wire is good work. To get Hughes for Kelvin Sheppard was a great deal. To get LeSean for Kiko was pretty good. I think Doug is doing solid work. can't wait to see what happens next.
  18. I think we as fans should sit back, grab a beer, and let Terry and his wife decide how they want to spend their money. They already spent 1.4 billion on the team, what's another 50 million? Nothing. It's like a hockey player pushing on his nostril and blowing million dollar bills out the other side. No big deal.
  19. How good is this guy anyway? Apparently they love him, but whatever.
  20. Bulaga likes it there. The cost of living is low and the fans are high.
  21. He loved Rex. Rex did not have anything to do with the trade, right? Revis shuts down 1/3 of the field. Book him. You could put me at safety over there and my buddy Todd at linebacker. Revis covers for us.
