  1. If we improve over last year it may be due to Rex's loading up the team with his ex-Jets and homeboys. I just did a quick eyeball of the rosters, and there are so many changes it's unbelievable. I hope that the new regime is legit and knows better how to judge talent. I know some of the losses are good players, like Gilmore and Gilislee, but how will we live without Leger Douzable and Idehego (sp)? What about that guy who punched Geno Smith? He's gone too! Will miss him. I see a future in which there are 11 players on the field on every play. I see coaches making challenges based upon real observations and upstairs paying attention. I don't see Marcel Dareus dropping back into coverage. I see Reggie Ragland knocking Gilislee onto his backside. I see Lawson blindsiding Brady and Brady considering retiring in the middle of a game. I see a healthy Sammy Watkins getting 1400 yards and 15 touchdowns. But then again, I just dropped a handful of shrooms.
  2. He's not as good as Sammy. When Sammy is right, he cannot be covered, and he has excellent hands. Let's hope he's right this year.
  3. I heard this announced on St. Louis radio, well, actually it was posed as a question: Do you think Maclin has a better chance of getting to a Super Bowl with Andy Reid or Harbaugh at Baltimore? That's how I found out. I'm not happy with Jeremy Maclin. In fact, i will be rooting against him this year. I hope he has a bad year in Baltimore. I wanted him on our team.
  4. They asked him, and he told them what they needed to hear. The guys we signed probably have great things to say about our team. It's propaganda. I think Gillislee should be thanking the Bills for taking him off the scrap heap and giving him the chance to move onto the Patriots. My theory is that when Brady goes down, and he will go down at some point, the Patriots will become an ordinary decent team. They have Tom Brady.
  5. I read that Baltimore only has 3 mil in cap space. How can they swing a deal for both guys? Maybe they will try to leverage one against the other to keep the money down. I like Maclin a lot more than Decker.
  6. He played high school ball about a mile from here. He was amazing at Mizzou....unstoppable. He is a great kid with a great attitude. I hope they sign him.
  7. Seems like they are opening up the checkbook to hire the best available evaluators of talent. That's fine with me. They stuck with Doug and his guys for a few years, and it didn't pan out. The cyclical nature of the NFL says the Buffalo Bills are due to make a playoff run. We need to beat New England at least once this year.
  8. When it comes to hiring the hot coordinators, it can be hit or miss.....Rams fans were all jacked up for Spagnolo and Linehan, and even Josh McDaniel came in and failed for a while. Most of Bellichik's guys fail. What gives me a little bit of hope about McDermott is that he wasn't necessarily the "hot coordinator," in fact his defense was not good last year. But he comes from a good lineage. Although I think the Andy Reid love is a bit over the top. I hope he gets us going. Tired of watching other teams in the playoffs.
  9. Yeah. Once Brady is gone, they'll be scratching their heads wondering how they went from hero to zero in 5 seconds flat. We went through similar consequences when Jim Kelly retired. Good luck.
  10. Connor Harris, linebacker. Career leader in tackles. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/connor-harris?id=2557852
  11. Seems like a good player. Again, we gave up a lot to get at him, so they must love the guy.
  12. Why? It's a formula they use to make trades. We came up short on this one. I think the Bills are in love with Zay because one of their coaches spent a lot of time with the guy. I don't like this trade one bit.
  13. According to the draft trade chart, we lost 30 points in the process. Not good. Should've gotten a 4th.
  14. I doubt that the 49ers would've taken Trubisky. John Lynch must have the best poker face in history. They got their guy and a bunch of picks.
  15. I don't see any reason to trade up. There is no quarterback worth that sort of sacrifice. Besides, next year is supposed to be a great year for quarterbacks. If we suck again, we will have the wherewithal to move up next year and take somebody great. Let's move down a few spots and take some extra talent in this year's draft. There are a lot of guys who would help this team. I like the tight end from Miami whose name I cannot pronounce nor type. I also like the linebacker from Florida, the DB from Alabama, and the WR from Eastern Washington.
  16. I'm optimistic. But I also have in mind that the Rams hired Spagnola, the hottest coordinator, who failed. They also hired Scott Linehan, who also failed despite being the hot coordinator. I attribute those failures on the Rams organization, who could not draft their way out of a paper bag. The fish rots from the head down. I think Rex blew it. When he took over, the Bills had a top 6 defense, which he promptly ruined. Had he done as promised and made the defense number one, they would have easily been in the playoffs both years. He failed. His big fat ego and his big fat brother damaged our defense. But they are not beyond repair. We come back with last year's number one and two picks, and a coordinator who has a clear idea of how to run a defense. If they can get Marcel to play consistently in the middle, I think we have a pretty good chance. What the players seemed to say was they needed better leadership. They have talent. I believe we are much better off now with McDermott than we were a year ago. I'm glad that Rex had such a bad year that enabled the hiring of the new coach, as well as the number 10 pick in the draft. Cannot wait for tomorrow. Trade down and get more guys.
  17. I think the worst reaction I ever had was when they drafted Donte Whitner at #8 or 9 or whatever. At the time, I thought we could have traded out of the pick because Matt Leinart was still there, and he was the top rated QB. I wasn't done freaking out when they wasted their second first round pick on John McCargo. In fact, they traded their number 2 and 3 picks to move up to draft McCargo. Those two deals alone should have gotten the GM fired. Oh, wait. That was Marv. Marv later signed Langston Walker and Derrick Dockery for about 90 million. That's why Marv no longer runs the personnel department of an NFL team. This year I would be displeased if they stay with the number 10 pick and grab somebody who they could get 10 picks later. I'd like to see them move back as far as 20. I hear that Denver is in love with McCaffery, and if he's still there at 10, maybe the Bills could fleece them of a lot of picks.
  18. 18 picks last year. That's not good. We have Tyrod, who I believe will be better the next 2 years than Watson. I think we can get Chad Kelly or Peterman later on and groom them behind Tyrod. Don't forget Cardale. He has great skill.
  19. I meant to type running out of time. My bad. I'll fix it. Thanks. And I do wonder how Gronk would have done had we taken him. We haven't been able to work in a tight end since Pete.
  20. In my opinion, Tom Brady is the only reason the Pats have continued to dominate. There is a domino effect to his presence....the team is able to sign lots of veterans who believe they'll get a ring. I also believe Brady's career is soon to end. That's why they're loading up on talent....for one last run. Brandin Cooks, Gilmore, even Gilislee to some extent have been signed for the stretch run. I wonder sometimes how great Gronk would have been had we taken him instead of New England. We've been handicapped for years being in the same division with Brady. Most years we can count on two losses. We have not been able to overcome that. And the Patriots cheat. There's a lot going on over there but they are running out of time. To the original topic: Whaley gets a bad rap for things that may not have been his doing. Last year's draft, for example, started out looking great. Lawson and Ragland....potential beasts there.....we all know what happened with Lawson, but Ragland's injury was just one of the costs of doing business. Listenbee....wonder how that guy will turn out if he's healthy? That's half the draft right there. Did he sign Tyrod? That actually may have been his best move. Check out Taylor's highlight reel. Last year he was throwing to stems and seeds out there. We need to equip him with some weapons and see what he can do. This is a key year. If Lawson and Ragland can play to their potential, it will be akin to having 3 first round picks. If I were in charge, I'd trade down a few times and get as many picks as possible. There is plenty of talent in the first 3 rounds. One guy I love (not personally) is the tight end from Miami. I actually like the idea of Peppers roaming the defense, and his stock is falling. I'd pass on the early round quarterbacks, but I'd pick up Peterman and Chad Kelly. It's a good thing I'm not in charge of things. Although if you trace my history, you'll see last year I recommended Dak Prescott, and a few years back I was all over Russell Wilson.
  21. Wade will make the most of his skills. He's a good player. Wish we'd kept him, but I understand that the coach doesn't like guys that are shorter than he.
  22. I was kneeling in front of the tv screaming "NOOOOOOOO" when that happened. Something really weird, and I've looked at this 5 times. Later on the tape, at the 8:47 mark, Cincinnati is given a td on a play when I cannot see how it is even possible to give the guy a catch. Can somebody please explain how that was a catch?
