  1. It's better to play like crap and lose than to play well and lose. Tonight they looked like crap. Why is Tyrod still in there? Why are they running?
  2. I nearly fell out of my chair when I heard the Bills traded for Kelvin Benjamin. I see absolutely no reason why anybody would question the value of this guy. I remember when we played Carolina, and he was killing us out there. Our DB's crushed him, which I thought would get him out of the game. But he came back. He's a stud. He's a great pickup. I read that his salary for next year, as it stands, is about 8 million. The Rams gave Robert Woods a 40 million dollar 5 year deal. Which player would you rather have for the same salary? Woods, who I really liked a lot but would never be a number one target, or Benjamin? I'd take Benjamin over Watkins any day. Watkins has all the talent in the world, but , well we all know he has yet to put on a full season of goodness. And he made it clear he expects NBA money. And he wasn't coming back. We got a #2 pick and EJ Gaines, and now Benjamin. Woods v. Benjamin? Come on. And people may say, "why drag Woods into this? What did he do?" Got paid 8 million a year.
  3. I remember his game against our team earlier in the year. He made some great catches, got completely jacked....and I thought he was out for the game, but he came back in and continued being a nuisance.
  4. I can't stand that guy. 11 penalties on the Bills. That's b.s. There were horrible calls. How about the "leverage" calls? Twice this year, and both by Hochuli. He's an a-hole.
  5. Dareus is a fat lazy pig who only throws in a bit of effort when he feels like it. At least we didn't have to give somebody draft choices to take his fat salary off our hands, like Texas did with that quarterback. $16 million for what, 8 tackles? He's a stoner, an underachiever, and he had to go. I hope he likes playing for Marrone again. Obviously they will have issues.
  6. I was at the game, and when the ball came out I said to my friend "That's a fumble, buddy." I said that because it did not move at all like a pass. It moved like it was punched. The replay, which I watched on a screen about 40 yards wide, showed that our guy hit his hand as his hand was still going backward, and at that point he had no control over the ball. It was a great call.
  7. This is one of those topics to breeze through because of the hilarious responses. 12 pages on a topic that really has no reason to exist other than to kick around some humorous banter.
  8. I'm very lucky. My sister, also a huge fan, works for a company that has a suite at the new stadium in Atlanta. She got some tickets and invited me down there. I can't wait. Who else is going?
  9. The Rams had the number one pick last year, and chose the wrong quarterback. However, they got rid of the most overrated egotistical coach in the history of sports, as did we, and are looking much better. The 49ers suck. The Rams defense is weird. You'd think that Wade Phillips would straighten out those bums, but the 49ers rang up 39 on them. That's rotten. I noticed that our top 3 receivers from last year were having a lot of success out there, including Marquise Goodwin. The Bills are better than the Rams.
  10. The Zay drop.....I don't know how he got both hands on that ball. I'm impressed with the kid. The offense sucked almost the entire game. You can blame it on anybody you want, but in my opinion it's time to put Tyrod to the bench and go with Peterman.
  11. I just googled Offensive Pass Interference, and this is what the rule says: Offensive pass interference rules apply from the time the ball is snapped until the ball is touched. See Article 2 for prohibited acts while the ball is in the air and Article 4 for prohibited acts prior to the pass. So, if our guy knocked their guy over, it's a good call. It it was mutual contact, it is not.
  12. The offensive pass interference call on our guy that cost us a first down inside the 20.....in my opinion, that was not pass interference. The ball wasn't even in the air when those two guys banged into each other. They collided, the db fell on his butt, and a couple seconds later Tyrod escaped the pocket and threw the ball to #18. First down. Is it pass interference if the ball hasn't been thrown? If not, is it illegal contact if our guy knocks their guy on his butt....which was beyond the legal 5 yards to make contact....is our guy not allowed to jostle the defender if they engage? I think it was a bad call. Did it cost us the game? We'll never know. Jones could have made the catch, but it would have been an amazing catch.
  13. I happen to believe that the Bills can win this weekend. Our defense was good against the Jets, without doing anything exotic at all. I think they will mix it up and try to confuse Newton. We've got some good guys coaching out there. I expect that the OL will open enough holes for Shady to pop thru and get his 100. I wouldn't be surprised to be 2-0 and ranked as highly as #29.
  14. The field goal attempt started out perfectly, end over end, and it just took off like one of those UFO's that are hovering over an open field and suddenly dart away. Was it windy yesterday? I think it's possible that somebody put a cigarette load inside the ball, and it blew up in the sky.
  15. Don't trash the Jets. They are grown men trying to win football games. Their DL played great most of the game, stuffing a lot of runs and getting pressure on the quarterback. But when there was an opening, our RB's picked up a bunch of yards. Their QB played a nice game of ball control. I think when we put a lot or pressure on him it worked. We didn't do that often enough. The Jets, as a team, are not tanking the season. They will have some wins. Don't rule them out when we go down to NYC to play them. They'll be stout.
  16. Our team has to ignore all the b.s. and prove it on the field. Gillislee had a total of 5 yards on his touchdowns, and I'm surprised they didn't put him in for the last one they got. Maybe the coach was tired of him getting knocked for losses on half the other plays. Hogan is a nice player who works really hard. Part of his appeal is the man who throws the ball to him. Both were lost because of mistakes made by our GM, who could have kept them by putting different tags on them. But they should also be grateful to Whaley for finding them on scrap heaps and turning them into pro football players. It'll be interesting to see how the fans respond to Gilmore. If he keeps playing like that, they will want to run him out of town. The Patriot fans are arrogant snobs, and don't tolerate that sort of play. In the mean time, we have the Jets Sunday and we best win this one....maybe we'll be in first place for the first time in a while.
  17. I was listening to the radio team when Gillislee scored his second touchdown. They kept talking about the Bills.....Gilmore who forced a fumble, Hogan, who looks fantastic, and now Gilislee....what did the Bills NOT see with those guys. I'll bet Bills fans are crying in their beer right now. Well, the losses of Hogan and Gillislee can be attributed to mistaken strategy by our GM at the time. However, the credit for FINDING both of them goes to the same guy. Regarding not signing Gilmore...we've all seen him play a few years. Capable of big plays, and also big mistakes. I'm not sure how much better a team we'd be with Hogan and Gillislee. We haven't made the playoffs with them, let's see how we do without 'em.
  18. I'll pay 3 bucks a month to keep up on the Bills through the News. But when I try to do that, they keep telling me an error has taken place. Perhaps the error is in my decision to sign up.
  19. I find it amazing that after 17 years, anybody shows up to watch the Bills. We truly have the most loyal fans in sports. Even when we all seem to know in our hearts that this team will go 4-12, 5-11, 1-15, whatever.....we're here. I personally think we're in for a good year. Smack me with my own shovel. G'ahead.
  20. Start the season 1-0. That's as far as I care to go. I think we have a lot of pieces in place, and that we are nowhere near the bottom of the league. If our defense didn't suck last year, we could have won 11-12 games. The defense does not suck this year. They look good. We have a DC who is a great coach, and our head coach was DC in Carolina. The clown show is gone. There's going to be some hitting. The offense is somewhat of a question mark, but it seems the line can be really good, which opens it up for Shady to go for 12-1500. If Tyrod is healthy, he can be a tremendous offensive threat. I think we have some talented WR's and TE's too. Special teams? Our kicker is nearly automatic, the punter has been putting it in the right spot, and our coverage can be very good. The return game may have taken a huge leap forward with Clay coming in from Carolina. Therefore, I see us 1-0 after Sunday's game. The only reason I listen to Sirius radio is the Beatles Channel and E Street Radio.
  21. I watched Banyard in preseason and didn't think he had anything going there. And he's old for a running back. And the other guy, #7. he dropped an easy pass in game v. Minnesota that may have put us in the position to win. Right off his helmet into the turf. But I see the point of a lot of you, that these were average players. However, I don't get the replacements. Between 2 of them we have one catch in 6 years of playing time. 7 yards.
  22. I thought Kevon Seymour was a pretty good player. But then we traded for another Clay, this one who has been in the league for 3 years and has not caught a single pass. Zero. No yards. His career highlight is dropping a ball a couple yards short of a touchdown. Great trade. Today we cut Jonathan Williams, a guy who I though was looking great. The first game against Minnesota, he had a few excellent runs, and the one the other night against Detroit was an excellent run. But no, let's cut him and make room for a Tight End from Detroit, who has a sum total of 1 catch for 7 yards in 3 years. What the hell. So now we have 4 tight ends. The OT from New England might be a good one, because for one thing we need tackles. The other thing is, the coaches can pick his brain about how New England runs its team. I hate to be negative, because I'm pretty excited (as usual) for this season. But what the hell are they doing? Is Beane so in love with Carolina that he had to give up a promising young DB for a guy who has yet to catch a ball in the regular season? We know he can return kicks, but can he cross the goal line with the ball? I don't think either of these guys will be totally happy till they get rid of every pick made by Whaley.
