  1. Can't wait to get to the draft. I watched highlights on all of these guys. They're super players to get this far in life to be considered first round caliber quarterbacks. I wish them all the best, except when playing the Bills. And of course I hope we draft the right guy. Last year we took some heat for signing the two safeties, but they worked out just fine. We traded down and got a great corner and an extra first rounder. We dumped Sammy, got a year out of EJ Gaines and a 2nd round pick. We drafted Dawkins, traded Glenn and moved up to #12. We traded Tryod for the first pick in the 3rd. By we I mean those guys, but they are my guys, so they are "we." I trust them to get the guy they want. And I trust that they will pay market value for that.
  2. Because it's taking too long to get to the draft, and some of us like to speculate. Just for fun. Why so serious? Jeez. Go away and come back on the 26th if it's that annoying.
  3. There are many great quarterbacks who didn't slip, but were underrated. OK. Aaron Rodgers slipped from #1 to #24 to the Packers. But Brees was a 2nd rounder. Wilson a 3rd. Cousins a 4th. Montana 3rd. Brady 6th. Warner undrafted. Bart Starr was taken in the 17th round. If the Bills are truly sold on a certain quarterback, they will get him somehow. I don't see them overpaying for that. If they have doubts about the The Four, I am hoping they keep the picks and build the team. We need targets for the QB. Blockers. Defense. I just watched highlights of Mason Rudolph. I like him. I like Lamar. I like Lauletta. I think they know who they want, and they are messing with the media.
  4. If they haven't traded up and the top 4 are gone, I say trade down. Get a couple more picks, maybe a #1 for next year (somebody wants Vita Via), and continue to stockpile assets. We got a great DB at #27 this year, and we will get some great players. I'm in favor of busting a move to get a franchise guy, but not at the expense of the rest of the draft and next year's #1. Too much.
  5. I''m glad he's alive. I hope whatever this is was an anomaly or a reaction to a bad choice of drugs. Rehab, hope and prayer.
  6. Can we wait? I'm glad he's alive. Let's wait till the story emerges from the b.s.
  7. I remember a few years ago we cut a couple guys, Glenn Parker and Dusty Ziegler, put them on the scrap heap. The next Super Bowl they were starting for the Giants. Patriots always seem to have a good line, as do the Steelers. I'm thinking that a good OL coach can turn these pieces of meat into good linemen. They were good enough athletes go get through college and make a pro football roster. They ain't junk, no matter what the pundits in this group surmise. We either trust Beane or we don't. I was happy when they traded Sammy and got EJ and a 4th rounder. I was thrilled when they got a 3rd rounder and Matthews from Philly. Now, Matthews failed to live up to even his own expectations, but was hurt all year. We got draft capital that they will probably use to move up and get the quarterback they want. I read that Beane says he's not ready to decide which guy he wants. They've only spent 15 minutes with each candidate. There's a lot of time between now and the draft. They will pick the guy they want, and I think they'll get him. At least that's what they'll say in the press conference: "This is the guy we targeted all along!" Bam!
  8. Yeah, let's fire a guy because of something some other guy did. Hey, my cousin got a DUI. I'm going to take some classes. I wonder which guy the Bills want. Remember 1983. Kelly was taken at 14, and Marino was at the end of the first round. Elway was the first pick, then Blackledge, then Kelly, Eason, Ken O'Brien and finally Marino. The Bills must have a guy they want above all the others. If it's Darnold, they may have to trade with the Browns to get #1. I think Rosen is ranked 2nd, Allen 3rd, and Mayfield 4th. But who knows? It only matters who the Bills want, not what the others want. They have sufficient picks to do whatever they want.
  9. I think it's fun to speculate, but the truth is that all the efforts we put into this is nothing compared to the work put in by the staff while making their decision. I was telling my son I hope we get Mayfield. I think he's got the right leadership style and excellent skill set. But then I reminded myself of Sam Darnold in a bowl game against Penn State a couple years ago. I think he had 5 td passes in the second half. In other words, it's torture. I have no idea. There are times I think Rosen is the guy, but I've read that he doesn't need football and doesn't care that much. I think our team is good at misdirection and keeping their hand close to the vest. Rumors may run rampant, but we won't know for sure till draft day. Unless they trade for the first pick and announce early, we won't know. I think.
  10. I don't do the math for these guys. It seems like they know exactly what they are doing.
  11. I thought they were close to if not in excess of salary cap. They got the tight end and Wilkerson?
  12. I don't mind a guy like McClown. He can't be planning on playing more than a year, and he did a nice job with the Jets. Who knows? Maybe Peterman might be decent with a year under his belt. Then we get our franchise guy in the draft. I'm pretty sure the Bills know which guy they want, and they will keep that close to the vest till the card gets turned in. Unless a cab driver tells Berman.
  13. I love the certainty displayed by many of you. I hope the Bills know more than we do, and that they make the right choice. By the way, I just read that Lamar ran a 4.34 40 yesterday at Louisville. That's fast, isn't it?
  14. My favorite for this team is Baker Mayfield. He's a winner. I was watching live when he played Kansas and was caught on camera grabbing his sack in their general direction. I didn't know at the time that the Kansas team refused to shake his hand at the coin toss....in front of kids. Low class. But Baker, on the field, is a winner. He probably grew up more following that nut grab than anything else he went through. However, if they don't move up, I don't have a problem with them taking Jackson. The guy won a Heisman and is a world class athlete. He might end up like Deshaun Watson. Don't rule it out. Kid is a stud.
  15. You can find information on every player at the combine.....this year, last year, etc. Click on their name and it scores them on their potential as NFL players. I was looking at the people we picked last year.....you can go back as far as 2006! Take your time. http://www.nfl.com/combine/top-performers#year=2018&workout=FORTY_YARD_DASH&position=QB-RB-WR-TE-S-EDGE-DL-LB-CB-OL-SPEC
  16. He threw the ball nearly 70 yards!! Wow!! But, how often does that come into play? How often is anybody on this team wide open 70 yards downfield? Can he hit the guys on the medium routes? I want Mayfield. He's a leader. An inspiring person. He has confidence. He won't accept losing. or sit there at 21 and take the best athlete. the Louisville guy.
  17. I have no problem with your response to my post. He's a good leader, but there are good leaders all over the place.....
  18. I was looking for some opinions on this......I agreed in principle with the guy who said they'd keep him as an 18 million dollar quarterback, rather than drop 30 million a year on Cousins, or trading a bunch of picks for Foles. The quarterback they take in the first will have a cap friendly first contract, and Tyrod can stick around and play until that kid is ready. If it happens to be the guy from Louisville, that would be a perfect situation. I wonder who they think is the best fit for us. I like Mayfield because his gunslinging style reminds me of Kelly and Brees. Jackson is a phenomenal talent. It wouldn't surprise me if they wait till draft day to make a trade up. I also think they will keep Tyrod, at least for one year. At the very least they will trade him before they have to dump the bonus money on him. An outright cut would be stupid.
  19. I think they should wait till the draft....or at least take time to make sure who they want. I just looked at a draft chart that would get us the 5th pick if we gave up our 2 first rounders and a 3rd. Say they get Baker Mayfield at 5 (go ahead, say it). Still have 2 second rounders. We also have the ability to fill holes in the roster with free agents. Lately Buffalo has been getting a lot of great vibes as a good place to live and play football. Let's sign Star whatsisname from Carolina. He misses our coach.
  20. Just because Jefferies said he got approval doesn't mean he did. The line of scrimmage is clearly the 5 yard line. He's at the 7. That's an illegal formation. Hell, they called our tackle on that 2 times in the same game....Henderson. The tackle was called, and he was in formation, cost us big time in a game. Two huge first downs. Might have been preseason.
  21. Foles was amazing all night. He rediscovered the talent he showed as a rookie and subsequently had stripped by Coach Jeff Fisher. His throws had nearly pinpoint accuracy all night. The Pats fans can blame it on the defense, but aside from those few wheel routes down the sidelines (thrown perfectly) the DB's had pretty good coverage all night. I have no idea what determines touchdowns any more. The two disputed calls would have gone the Patriots way during the regular season. No doubt in my mind. Even Collinsworth the Magnificent was ready to give up. Wish he had. There was pass interference on Hogan on the Hail Mary. The other main reason they lost was the sack/fumble. Woopsie daisy. Where'd the ball go? Game ended on that play, really.
