I'd take Josh Allen over any of the others. He's a phenomenal athlete who has grown tremendously throughout the season. He came from Wyoming to the NFL, behind a bad line with crap receivers and no running game, other than his own. He's made some great throws, and he's so much better now than earlier in the year. By the time they fix the line problems, get him some targets, and get a running game going, he's going to be an absolute star.

2019 Renewed Optimism - for real this time
TC in St. Louis replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm excited too. Like all of you, I have the Buffalo Bills Disease. I watch every game, year in and out, and for the first time in a long time, I feel that we are ready to become a special team. At last year's draft, I was thinking.....they have a guy they want, and they will get him. I think Josh was and is their guy. Tremaine Edmunds was a gift from Cleveland. They need a pass rush guy, offensive line help, a #1 receiver, and a new running back. And a new Special Teams coach. -

Why wasn’t the game clock running after Croom’s catch? -
We should have 2 or 3 more wins right now. With every loss we climb higher in the draft order. That's an upside to the losses. Yesterday should be the end of Danny Crossman. His record coming in from Detroit was abysmal. It seems that his earlier successes in Carolina were the only reason he got the job. He's earned a dismissal. That's an upside too. I root hard for a win every week. I try to see the positives, but I also see next year as our big opportunity. With a lot of cap space and draft picks, I trust that they will turn it around quickly. We played a difficult schedule, and aside from some ridiculous games (Ravens, Bears, Chargers), we've been competitive. Our defense looks very promising. I think Josh Allen is going to be a superstar. If they can build a good line in front of him and get him a star WR, it won't take long for the offense to catch up to the defense. The draft is the key. Look at last year's draft. Cleveland drafting the DB from Ohio State instead of Chubb changed the entire draft for us. It enabled us to only have to trade one of our first rounders (instead of both had we traded with Denver instead of Tampa), and as a result we were able to get Edmunds. Fixture at MLB. If we end up with a top 10 pick, this will give Beane flexibility to maneuver and get more picks. Losing is winning. Of course we want to win out, but an extra loss or two can be a good thing. In the big picture. Fire away. I'll try not to take it personally.

What Was the Primary Reason the Bills Lost (NYJ)?
TC in St. Louis replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Give Darnold some credit. His passes were precise. Especially the long one down the sidelines and the touchdown pass. Those were incredible throws. Into tight coverage, and they were perfect. -
Where are you on the spectrum??

I think he's awesome. He's got a great arm, and when he gets his footwork figured out, they won't be able to stop him. Get some receivers. He'll find them. And as a runner he is phenomenal. We have our guy. -
Hochuli inherited his father's constant quest to be the center of attention. He needs to juice up if he's ever going to get buff like his dad. Here's a picture of his mom.

I am listening to the post-game, expecting to hear people complaining about the horrible officiating. But these announcers have the "holier than thou" approach of pretending that the officiating had nothing to do with the outcome. They CHANGED the game. The Miami touchdown drive.....helped immensely by bogus pass interference, the absurd call on Phillips for swatting a guy's foot out of his way after making an amazing play. And then not calling holding on the touchdown pass. Hughes was mugged. Next we have Josh Allen being ripped down by the head, no call. Later he was hit in the head again, no call. Obvious pass interference on Jones. No call. Josh may have been exhausted having to run around 100 yards before heaving that final pass. It was in the air long enough for Clay to make the catch. Nobody within 10 yards of him, and he does not make the play. I say cut Clay tomorrow. Goodbye. He could have made a catch and won the game. This dumbass announcer, is he the Bulldog or Mike or whatever, he's horrible. My dad would make a lot of money on him. He'd buy him for what he's worth and sell him for what he thinks he's worth. -

He slapped his foot, which was sticking up in front of him. Do you think he injured the guy? -
Those were some overoficious jerks!

We have a Bills Backers group in St. Louis. We've been meeting for over 20 years. We were pretty much unanimous howling at the officiating yesterday. It was putrid. I'll say this: the people who claim that all the calls were legit would be singing a different tune had we lost the game. Coleman's crew sucks. They made bad calls all day long. It was one-sided. The point spread was 3. They did whatever they could to get the game to that point. There is big-time money involved in gambling on these games. The house won today. Coleman just got a new addition on his house of horrific officiating. -

Two huge defensive holding calls gave the Jags first downs when they didn't deserve it. The first one, on Edmunds, was really nothing at all and the pass rush forced Bortles to throw a horrible pass far away from Edmunds. The second one was on a DB, ticky tack call, and the pass rush forced a throw that was lousy and incomplete. At one point the Jags went from the 20 to midfield without doing anything at all. -

TC in St. Louis replied to BuffAlone's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The holding calls on 3rd and long were both bogus. Edmunds barely touched the guy, the QB was under severe pressure and threw downfield in a totally different direction. The one later was so minor it shouldn't have been called, and the QB was never in position to even look for a receiver. -
Trade down. Really the only thing to do when you don't have any glaring need on defense. Beane isn't shy about making deals on draft day. This could be a fun draft to watch.
-
Not that they would have won the game....doubt that. But on 3rd and long, pressure on Brady and he hits James White a few yards short of the first down, and Stanford whiffed on the tackle. Hey, I think overall the kid did a solid job backing up Edmunds, but if he makes that tackle, they punt. They don't get the touchdown a few plays later, and who knows? We were down by 6 at the time. But our offense is historically pathetic. The defense had a great game overall. On Edmunds concussion....when he made that hit, I told my kid, "Concussion. He's out." He stayed in for another play and looked groggy. Helmet to helmet vicious hit.

The Colts game was the first I've intentionally missed in nearly 40 years. I was at my son's baseball game and was going to go to the Bills Backers Bar afterward. I was monitoring the game on my phone. Our baseball game ended at halftime, as did the Bills season. Instead of going to watch the rest of the game, I ignored it and enjoyed the rest of the day. The final score actually made me chuckle. I don't know how they got a safety, but the fact that they got one in a game that featured no defense is a miracle. Is it possible that McDermott and this hapless group of wandering idiots on offense have cured me of Buffalo Bills disease?

Bills Defense is Overrated. They Choked.
TC in St. Louis replied to Kevin1778's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They had first and goal at the one, and couldn't get that yard. That's a stout defense. They were screwed by the PI call (the guy was out of the end zone when the ball got to him). The defense played great.
