  1. I would rather they take a pass rush guy or a CB, but in the back of my mind I see Etienne being a huge asset.  I'd love to see him in the backfield.

People seem to forget they signed the pass rush guy Obidi, or whatever his name is.  I think he'll make a big difference.  I also believe the pass rush will just get better with Star clogging up the middle, freeing other guys to get in there.

We can get a good DB in the 2nd or 3rd.  I think they should take a look at Koonce in the 5th.

I know nothing.  I think if anybody quotes this post, that will be the quote.  Pretty much applies to all of us.

  2. Maybe we just played a bad game vs. the Chiefs.  Sometimes you lose, lick your wounds and move on.  We've got a few guys heading into year #3 who might just get to their "ceiling."  Ed Oliver, Tremaine Edmunds, Knox.  We signed some nice pieces in the offseason.  I like our chances.  I'd suggest a super fast cornerback and maybe Oweh, who can outrun just about everybody on the field.  We need to focus on our team rather than the Chiefs.  While we're looking at them there are other teams getting much better.

    Focus on us, not them.

To be fair, OP is one of the other people I named when I said I would avoid anyone you guys recommend and here he is advocating that we draft someone from one of the nation's largest producers of poultry.  I suppose, great minds think alike?  I forget how the rest of that goes.

Yeah, well....I agree that drafting a person based on the three cone drill of a chicken is not advisable.  They are pretty elusive little bastards, though.

  4. I posted something like this a few weeks ago and ran into some disagreements.  (one guy posted to avoid anybody I recommended, which I took personally.)

His injury history is the biggest concern.  But he gets a lot of attention from the pundits....due to his natural talent, strength, and potential.  4.29 speed, squats 600.  Elusive.  If he is healthy he will be a star.

I think Kiper missed on this one. No one else has him even close to a second round grade. He’s a day 3 pick. Seems as he has some upside. I’d be pretty pissed if we took this guy at 61.

This could be Kiper showing off again.  When Koonce emerges as a solid player in the league, he'll reference this repeatedly as an example of his thoughtful brilliance.   I'd like to see where he mocked Tom Brady.  Probably right where he was taken.

  6. Mocks are weird.  I have done at least a couple hundred.  In one, and I'm not kidding, Kyle Pitts was on the board at #30.  I took him.  The next mock he was gone at #4.

The second round pick obviously depends on the first round pick.  There is no need to take another end rusher.  We need a corner, and I suggest we take the best fit for corner.  Unless, of course, somebody fantastic drops into our lap.  Many people thought I was nuts when I posted my support for Rondale Moore, but if he was there at this point I would dance my way to the podium and snag him.

He's only 5'9" but then you have the speed factor.

I like big, tall, physical guys who can catch any ball that is anywhere near their huge wingspan, despite being well covered.

But we need a speed burner threat!

Slot guy, jet sweep, punt/kickoff returns.  Somebody who can take over for Cole.  But some say he'll start right away.  He's got explosive lower body strength, which is unusual for a guy that short.  Great route runner, so he'll probably be open more often than not.

A lot of supposition there.  So the Bills found out in advance what Cleveland and Jets were doing  because teams like to share info on their number 1 picks?  Yet the Bills managed to not share who they were getting.     Cool.

I think the key phrase is "I believe."  I think they got their guy.  That's my opinion.  Obviously people disagree.  This is a forum for opinions.  And by the way, I agree that you may be right.  But I do believe Josh was their guy.

  9. I believe the Bills knew Josh Allen wasn't going #1 to Cleveland.  They knew Barkley was going to the Giants.  They likely knew the Jets weren't taking Allen, and the Browns were expected to take Bradley Chubb.  The Bills had set up the trade with Denver for the 5th pick, but Denver had let them know they would cancel the trade if Chubb became available.  When Cleveland chose Denzel Ward, the trade was canceled.  Indy had Andrew Luck, so they weren't QB shopping, and Indy took Nelson.  Tampa made the deal with us and we got Josh.

The Bills aren't going to tell anybody before the draft they're taking Josh Allen, but they wanted Josh Allen, and we got him.  I actually wanted them to get Mayfield, and I'm glad they didn't.

At 30 they don't really have a "guy" because there are too many scenarios in play ahead of them. Best they can do is maybe see a player they really wanted slip into the 20s and then move up to get him.

I agree that it's a strange draft, but I do think they've targeted a player.  They've spent the offseason on this.
