The offense played well, Chan did a nice job of adjusting.
The achiles heel of this team remains the defense. If we put up 24 points on the Jets we should have won the game.
7-9 is an improvement over last year but still not good enough. It should result in a number of players being released as well as coaches. Edwards being first on the list. Wannstadt was hired as the obvious successor to Edwards and possibly Gailey.
An offensive co-ordinator with play calling ability is also necessarry. Gailey is too locked into his particular scheme and unwilling to change.
IMO I think we would be fortunate to get to 7-9. I can see us losing the remaining games. If that were to happen there may be even more changes.
We will never know but we may have had an All Pro Tight End in Kevin Everett.
Jay Riemersma could have been but could not stay healthy. Then the Bills would not pay him and he left.
It seems the Bills have never had an offense that features the Tight End sufficiently.
These defensive players did not get to this level without knowing how to play their position. Face it they are simply not good enough to be in the NFL. McKelvin is an absolute bust and should be cut. Finally Gailey is reaching that conclusion. Florence was not good enough for any team until he got to the Bills. Our safeties are not bad but we need to do something to make up for the CB's deficiencies.
Edwards is simply in over his head. He does not know how to coach a defense. Since our corners are getting beat time after time, line them up on the receiver, jam him and blitz your safeties or linebackers. TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT. We are getting beat by rookie receivers and practice squad QB's.
Makes sense for the Bears to pick him up. Can't see any other team picking him up. It would take too long for Orton to learn their offense to make a difference.
I agree with the need for more pass rush but disagree on McKelvin.
McKelvin lacks the ball skills and smarts to be an effective CB. He is another draft bust for the Bills IMO.
I agree, Spiller out of the back field would be great to see. Spiller needs to see the ball more. Line both Jackson and Spiller in the backfield rather than the five wide setup. The change up would add confusion for the defenses.
Agreed. It is not the players or the coaches. We are year two in a re-build. We have no depth and with injuries to starters that has killed the Bill's chances.
I say E, none of the above as I don't see either team making the playoffs.
Both teams will have good years, and are improving, but both are, IMO, at least a year away from the playoffs.
I have difficulty believing that if the Bills do not beat the Jets or NE that they will make the playoffs. If they lose to both of those teams then it seems more likely that the Jets will make the playoffs. I still believe the Bills are going to have to beat the Jets and get to 11 wins to have a shot.
I have season tickets in the same section and I have never experienced any problems in that section. The only annoying part of Sunday was the 8 Jets fans behind me.
