The all Tebow for the Bills thread
Kemp replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When I first saw this thread I assumed it was sarcasm. Please tell me the Tebow supporters here are all being sarcastic. -
Preseason game 3: Bills-Steelers Pre-game (and game thread)
Kemp replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How did Lynch help Buffalo win? Take any of those three players and replace them with their backups. Replace Wilson with his backup. In the 2013 season, which scenario would have had the more dire consequences? Just because Wilson didn't carry them alone, which no qb has ever done, is irrelevant. The game as currently constructed is dependent on the play of your quarterback. Look no further than the current Bills drought for proof. Switch Manuel and Wilson last year and the Bills are a playoff team. Seattle might have made the playoffs with Manuel, but I sincerely doubt it. It's not just about passing yards. Game management, saving broken plays, and avoiding big mistakes is crucial. Wilson was great at that. -

Who on the Seahawks would have been a greater loss to Seattle last year if they went down with an injury? Since you understand his point, which player on Seattle was more important to the championship last year than Wilson? -

You really believe they win it last year w You really believe they would have even come close last year with Tarvaris Jackson? For a young QB, good game management and playing smart is a remarkable achievement. Simply put, Wilson on the Bills gets them into the playoffs last year. That is 4 wins he gains you. We are in definite disagreement about Wilson's value to the Seahawks. -

I gotta say that I am pretty surprised that any regular watcher of the game does not understand how good Russell Wilson has been. That Lynch fellow used to be on Buffalo. That really propelled the Bills to a Super Bowl victory. Fred Jackson has probably been the best Bill over the last 5 years. It does not translate into wins. Adrian Petersen is arguably the best RB over the last 5 years and I haven't seen Minnesota doing much of anything. Running back is the easiest piece to replace on a team. QB is by far the hardest. If Wilson was a Bill, you would probably understand his importance. It's unusual to find a good QB on a bad team or a bad QB on a good team. It's not a coincidence. -

Sorry, but if you think any RB is more important than any QB on a good team, you are not aware of how the current NFL works. If they lost Marshawn, they would still have won the Super Bowl. No Wilson and they are nowhere close to winning the Super Bowl. -

You don't think Wilson is the single most important Seahawk? Who is? -

If your qb isn't the center piece of your team, you are doomed. -

Even when the pass is complete, it seems like half the time the receiver isn't in a comfortable position to catch it and advance it further. Not sure why that will magically improve for a guy who has been playing qb for over 5 years. -

When he is good, he is almost mediocre. -
Would you swap EJ for Manziel right now?

Fred speaks out against practices vs Steelers

You make it sound like choreography. There will be intense hitting. Hopefully, the injuries will be minor. I don't see how it can be more valuable than a pre-season game, where it is real game conditions. If there were only 2 or 3 exhibition games, then maybe. Or maybe he's been through enough of these to know they don't really help the team. -

Pre-season exists in its present state solely to bring cash to management. -

Very serious. Five preseason games isn't enough to figure things out? Guys get hurt in every game. Most practices bring injuries. I prefer to have a healthy team when the games count. -

I think it's a waste of time, considering how many pre-season games they have. It can only result in injuries and adds very little. -
If he fails, I won't be crowing. I will be pissed, like everyone else. I wasn't angry they drafted him. I had no opinion on him. The only recent drafted Bill that annoyed me was Graham. His hands sucked in college and they still suck.

I am not comforted by misery. I am not even miserable about any of this. It is just my honest opinion based upon what I have seen and read, that EJ inspires very little confidence, to date. The ones who are oddly comforted are those that can parse through all of the evidence so far and surmise that EJ is on the way to a successful career. The truth is that hope remains because he is still young and inexperienced. Other than that, what evidence is there that he is on a good path? All I have heard on the positive side is that it is early. Yippeee! It's early. EJ has this year to make it. He might. He might not. If he fails, the franchise takes another enormous step backwards. That's hard to do, considering the recent past.

You need to work on comprehension. I want Buffalo to win. However, if someone is silly enough to make what I feel is a poor wager, I will take it. You don't have to be a Pollyanna to be a fan. Factually, you echoed my post.

Quotes from a teammate is proof of something? Is that what you meant by the link?

I would if I didn't get such joy from the self-deluded. Anyway, I have not given up. I have already stated that if EJ figures it out, they could have an excellent offense this season. I just find it unlikely. Poor reads, locking in on receivers and inaccurate throws is a poor starting point.

You would be better off first figuring out reality. What tipped you off that I am a Jet fan? I understand. Deep down you know I'm right, and you don't have the courage to match your bravado.

Because it is fun to watch until it falls apart. Why do you watch at all? How many times in the last 14 years did you think they would be a Super Bowl contender? But you watched. Why are you wasting your time? Or did you believe Edwards, Fitz and Johnson were the answer. Before each season there is some hope, but EJ has looked horrible so far. He might turn it around, but today it seems unlikely. If you feel otherwise I assume you bet over in Vegas. You'res don't say. If any of you would like to make a wager, I would be happy to bet they won't make the playoffs.

Pity that you can't tell the difference between evaluating football personnel and predicting lottery results. Analogies is not your strength.

I will, until we reach somewhere around Game 8 when every game becomes our last chance to stay alive.

The fact that EJ stunk against NY along with reading every single day that he stunk in practice, has me wondering why the Bills didn't draft a qb or bring another in. We still read every day that he can't go through progressions and he is inaccurate. The personnel, other than him, is playoff-caliber. If he doesn't figure it out this year, he is toast, as is Whaley and Marrone. I think they are all toast. And us fans are doomed to watching losses for at least this season.
