I love WW2 history but unfortunately this reminds me of the Pearl Harbor abomination. Too many piney shots of families and women. It also stars Mandy Moore which is concerning. Additionally, the trailer promotes it as being from the same director as Independence Day. Although Independence Day was a decent movie for me in my teens it does not hold up well except for nostalgic purposes. The director, Roland Emmerich, has a slew of bombs under his belt. For example, 2012, 10,000 BC, The Patriot, Godzilla....

Notable Nexflix / Amazon / Premium Channel Series & Movies

I have watched all of Black Mirror and haven't had the same experience. Can you refer to a scene/moment in an episode where this happens? I will rewatch and give my thoughts. (I am assuming it isn't a problem with your device or framing issues if all your other shows show up fine. In terms of Season 3 it was disappointing. I convinced my girlfriend to watch the new episodes with me as she has never watched it before. The only one she liked was the Miley one. Despite having some Sci-Fi and techno-future issues, it seemed to be directed to a teeny bopper crowd. I don't just say this bc Miley was in it. It was about pop stars, high school teenager family issues etc. -
Glad the warriors won. I made a little money betting on them in the game. However, I had another bet that the Raptors would win last night by 1-2 points. In the final secs this looked like a given, until the foul with secs remaining that gave up two shots. I could've won $140...

Kentucky Derby Predictions?
IslandBillsFan replied to Halloween Land's topic in Off the Wall Archives
BS call in my opinion. Do you know how much bumping, rubbing and cutting off goes into every race? Additionally, the winner was still 3 lengths back. Furthermore, when Maximum went outside he let all the inside horses gain position. BS call. To tell you the truth reminds me of a lot of Bills games. I would like to think i am a horse health advocate too. However, horse racing is inherently bad for horse health. Getting in front of a horse has no more risk than any other aspect of the whole race. Sloppy conditions... 20+field... giant peloton of horses.... -
Roll call for those betting over 6.5 wins
IslandBillsFan replied to billsintaiwan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I got $250 on over 6 wins. I wanted to bet $1,000 but my bookie calls these bets exotic and $250 is the limit. I may but another $750 on it somewhere else. -
Read an interesting theory about the forthcoming Battle of Winterfell.... In the last scene they show the undead approaching Winterfell but no NK or zombie dragon. Could it be possible the NK went to Kings Landing on his dragon to kill/recruit for his army? The whole last episode didn’t show anything from Kings Landing. I definitely don’t think they would kill off Cersi without showing it. But maybe the NK kills the Lannister army and somehow Cersei escapes. One nugget to support this theory is in one of Brans visions we see the shadow of a dragon over Kings Landing. All his other visions have come true... I don’t think this is the case, but is still interesting to contemplate.

I know this doesn't help you for a downtown crawl but my cousins and I do a Hamburg Pub crawl the Saturday before the opener every year. It is surprising how many bars are within walking distance in a small suburb. I did a quick email search and found this itinerary from a few years ago. Every year the route changes a bit and stops are added or removed. 1) JM’s West End 2) Knights of Columbus 3) Whities 4) Murphy’s Main Street Station 5) Braymillers 6) JP Fitzgeralds 7) Pyramid Lounge ? Mammoser’s Tavern 9) Pour House 10) Coyote Café 11) O’Brien’s Fresh Farm Meats 12) Buffalo Street Grill

I will second Boca Bills' "nothing" comment. I have had simple guidelines for movies for the last decode or so. 1. Has to be rated R. 2. Can not be a remake, sequel, reimagining, etc.... I need new ideas. 3. No super hero movies. These 3 general rules eliminate almost all Disney/Marvel/Star Wars movies. No before I get roasted, I will admit there are some exceptions to these rules. (For Example, GodFather 2) And there are movies I am nostalgic for because I watched them when I was younger. However, the movies I enjoy these days are adult movies with new ideas and stories.

This is not directly about the Syracuse game but I figured this thread was the best fit. What is with the new camera angle I keep seeing? The one were it is more shallow and moves with the play. I first noticed it in the Syracuse/Duke game. Then in the Duke/UNC game. Does anyone like this? I think it stinks for depth perception. It looks kinda like a video game. Thoughts? P.S. Not sure if others have mentioned this. I am too lazy to read all 23 pages of the thread.

I agree with crypto currency theory and advantages over traditional currencies and banking. HOWEVER, the largest hurdle (which is glossed over in the infographic) is they are not widely accepted. Today, I went to a gas station, a grocery store, a restaurant, and booked a vacation excursion. None of those accept digital currency or cryptos. Until this is possible, or somehow can teach me how to do so, they are not viable for me or 99% of consumers. Also, let’s say I put $1,000 into a crypto account and want to use it for everyday spending. No one wants their bank accounts value to fluctuate greatly in short periods. Side Note: I actually may throw some money into bitcoin as an investment. Buy now and sit on it and see what happens.

Super Bowl game day thread

Yes. They had two timeouts. So why not? He couldn’t possibly kneel three times and not go backwards. -
I used to donate fairly regularly about a decade ago. In recent years, I have donated less. This is unrelated to me donating less more recently, but there is an interesting podcast by RadioLab which explains the blood business. Out of memory, many blood donation companies actually sell the blood to healthcare facilities. Like most modern donations and charities it is a big business. Here is the link: The donation portion starts a little after the 46 minute mark. I may give it another listen to see if I am recalling this right. https://www.wnycstudios.org/story/308403-blood

What Should I Do With Old Sports Trading Cards?
IslandBillsFan replied to BillyWhiteShows's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I'm in the same boat. I have a ton of cards. All my "valuable" cards are in one binder. Probably about 40 cards worth $5-10 each last time I looked about a year ago. I figure if I sold em I could get at least $200 but selling by the each would be a pain in the butt. Who knows. -
Ronaldo being investigated for rape
IslandBillsFan replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I think I am missing some things here. Where I get confused is why do they need the DNA? If they took DNA samples on her back in 2009 after she said the rape took place, why did it take 10 years to get Ronaldo to have to submit his DNA? If she didn’t get tested after the alleged rape, what is the DNA for? -

[Edited Title] Lions v Bills 4th and 2 Decision
IslandBillsFan replied to IslandBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting to see both sides of the argument here. Sorry if my original post was a little cryptic, I had a couple cocktails in me. To the posters who said whether the play worked is irrelevant, I agree. In general, I agree Bills play calling has been too conservative. However in that scenario, I thought the call was wrong. Take the points. We have a bad offense. I figured with a half to play I would've felt more comfortable being down 3 then potentially still being down 6. Thanks for all the replies! BD -
Hi Friends, Sorry to start a thread without all the details but I was talking in the shout-box and have yet to receive a good answer. In my memory, last week the Bills faced the Lions and had a 4th and 2 at approximately the 12 yard line. If I remember correctly (which is a miracle) the Bills were down 13 to 7. We elected to go for it and ran a play where JA scrambled and eventually ended up short of the first down. Many questions here which have yet to be discussed: 1) For all the folks who say we are not aggressive enough on 4th down situations, here is one we lost. Please explain. 2) One long time poster (sorry I cant remember who) stated that McDermont explained the call was for the development of the team. If that is true... interesting to see Sean McD is more interested in the future, than winning a game. Thoughts Bills fans?

Hugh Hefner estate auction this Friday
IslandBillsFan replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
I am not that familiar with Auctions. Are the prices under the items the estimates? If so, much of the stuff isn’t crazy expensive.
