  1. ^ but who great would it be if both were? only for us to draft defense
  2. the only way I am down with this is if we land Barkley in the 2nd round... and that is not likely
  3. the bummer is that Arizona will take him a #7 and leave us with Geno... if we can steal Tavon in the second, we win.
  4. you either choose between Geno or Barkley at 8 - whoever is left... or you live with the fact that we are going to get a 3rd/4th round caliber QB in the second round (because early 2nd round is when QBs will fly off the board IMO)
  5. you want to change things? get a young QB...
  6. if this goes through, we officially may have our choice at QB when the 8th pick rolls around
  7. 1) KC - just got Alex Smith, doubtful they waste a #1 on a QB here 2) JAX - Operation Gabbert seems to be a lost cause, more holes elsewhere though 3) OAK - they love speed... Geno could fall here 4) PHI - new coach, new QB? 5) DET - no chance they go QB, we are safe here 6) CLE - they have guessed wrong on QB in the last 5 years, doubtful they draft another one 7) ARI - been needing a young QB since... Plummer? in my opinion the only ones I am worried about it Oakland at 3, and Arizona at 7... if one of them go QB we will end up with Barkley or Geno. If they both go QB, we will have a solid defensive player drop to us, but will still need to fill the void of QB at some point, and round 2 may be tough to get a "franchise guy"... Let's hope Cassell gets signed by one of those teams
  8. if Zona takes Geno, I am fine with Barkley... it's another team drafting a QB out of nowhere that will TOTALLY screw us (raiders - geno)
  9. dominoes starting to fall.... Smith to Chiefs... now it's a matter of what Zona does with their pick... safe to say our QB for the future is going to be Barkley or Geno
  10. post combine update: if we get Geno and Tavon I will literally shed tears of hapiness
  11. round 1 - patterson round 2 - bray I am waaaaaay down with it
  12. 4) He just screwed over the rest of the AFC East now because the Pats will stay releveant a lot longer than we planned 5) Give me Ryan Mallet lol
  13. Been looking at every mock draft under the sun daily, just like all of you, and I finally figured out our solution towards making the playoffs... Focus our entire draft on getting a QB/WR combo that fit our system, and work well together. You add this component with Spiller/Stevie, a revamped/motivated defensive front, and I am pretty sure we can sniff the playoffs. Most likely situation; if Chiefs did indeed pull the trigger on Alex Smith, and zona takes Geno... (60% chance this happens IMO) #1) Matt Barkley - QB USC #2) Robert Woods - WR USC If Cheifs landed Smith, and Cardinals pass on a QB... (20% chance this happens IMO) #1) Geno Smith - QB WV #2) Tavon Austin - WR WV If Chiefs take Geno, Cardinals take Barkley... (10% chance this happens IMO) #1) Cordarelle Patterson - WR TENN #2) Tyler Bray - QB TENN (over drafting him at 2, but we need a qb... bad) If Chiefs take Geno, Cardinals take Barkley... and we think Glennon can drop or Nassib is the guy (10% chane this happens IMO) #1) Werner/Jordan - DE FSU/OREG #2) Glennon or Nassib or Wilson - QB #3) WR with raw skill and talent - Hamilton/Bailey/Williams Rationale: A QB and WR who are familiar with each other, who can grow together. The WR will have Stevie to help him understand the position, and the QB will have a new staff that will enforce a culture or pride/hard work. Our young QB has CJ Spiller to hand the ball off to, which will allow him to slowly progress and work down the field throws and quick slants to Stevie. Let's face it. We need to try and swing for homeruns at this point. We have been a stagnant franchise, who in the last few years, tried to create a spark via free agency (T.O, Mario, etc.). The missing component, has, and always will be a franchise QB. Risk vs Reward - if you QB pans out, you are set for years to come and have an actual franchise in place. If your QB does not pan out, you end up with a high draft pick and can try it again with Johny Manziel, or the following year with whoever comes out in the draft. In my opinion, I would rather go down every season swinging for the fenses than working hard for a 500 record. In my perfect world: We get Geno and Tavon... link them up with CJ and Stevie... the only time Geno runs is towards the sidelines for a 4-8 yard gain (think Luck and Rodgers type scrambling - NOT griffin/kapernick sytle). run, run, run with CJ and Freddy (if he stays) and let Stevie and Tavon work the open gaps during play action. We immediately have one of the fastest teams in football, staying on the field, burning clock, and letting our defensive front rest for their break out season. GO BILLS
  14. you got the QB/WR combo correct... just not the right QB/WR... here is what we end up doing... #1) Matt Barkley - QB USC #2) Robert Woods - WR USC OR... if the ball finally bounces in our favor come draft day... #1) Geno Smith - QB WV #2) Tavon Austin - WR WV either way I am banking we go QB/WR combo and let them mold with CJ and Stevie... get those four on the same page, revamp our defense and we have a playoff team fellas!
  15. ^^ that's why you try to buy in the draft or back ups who can eventually start
  16. buy low sell high... not the other way around
  17. we would take Geno first, but he will be gone... so... 1) Barkely 2) Nassib yes, two QBs in a row, but this is a new era and we need to find our qb of the future
  18. as a heavy sports better... I do like the Lions at 40-1 (not saying they will win it all but for the odds that looks great) ps - I got Ravens at 15-1 at the start of this season (hope they pull it off)
  19. risky move hoping the guy you want at 8 falls to 16... upside - you get your guy + a free second round pick downside - you miss out on the player you had locked in at 8 risk vs reward - I don't like it... stick to the original plan - draft Barkley with our first pick, Nassib with our second...
  20. if we are truly going BPA (which is fine with me) then an SEC defensive player is being drafted at 8
  21. ^ if someone picks him above us that means a higher projected QB will slip... which is good w me
  22. blows my mind that people think we can find the QB of our future in the SECOND ROUND
  23. every year we are a QB away from making the playoffs... yet, we haven't drafted a good one 2013 - bad luck number = good luck for a bad team round one - Barkley round two - Nassib
  24. or Manti's girlfriend in the second instead?
