  1. Yes, Rothlisberger (spelling ?) was 15-1 as a rookiee and won the Super Bowl his second year.
  2. +1, I was excited for that game against the Steelers all those years ago, even though we lost. Besides I fifnish my one year overseas on the 20th and want to come home to something to root for!
  3. I saw a news report from Fox or CNN earlier today. It said Buffalo schools have paid 2.7 mil this year, 5 mil last year and a peak of 9 mil on plastic surgery for teachers with no copayment. If that is true Erie county can pay to upgrade the "Ralph"! I am in Singapore so I can't find a link to post, if someone else can find it feel free!
  4. http://www.businessinsider.com/gangnam-style-translation-2012-9 From a google search
  5. In the Navy and sitting in the Philippines I have heard the song 2 or 3 times a night for the last month. Well I found an English translation of the words and it is about a woman who is a lady during the day and a freak at night. Can't argue with that logic!
  6. No but especially not if it opened recently. I was deployed on the Enterprise, came back for a school and am now assigned to a one year tour forward deployed. Sitting in the Philippines right now wishing I was able to watch the games...
  7. As Vice President of the Bills Backers of VA I prefer AJ Gators on Holland Rd in VA Beach. I won't be there though as I am active duty serving one year overseas, I will be back in December.
  8. A playoff birth is assured. I have had my hopes up too many times over the last 12 years to Bill-eve before that.
  9. They are not there yet but on the way to being a good team you have to win at home first and learn to win on the road. This upcoming week, at what should be a lesser team, will be a good example and a place to jump off and start that learning.
  10. +1!!! "Tis but a flesh wound!" He never gets hurts, just flesh wounds!
  11. If you all remember they did the same thing last year. They play the base defense or offence to be able to evaluate everyone straight up. I have also read articles in the past where the coaches talk ahead of time about what they are trying to evaluate. Plus no game plans. YOu can cover for know weaknesses of players or schemes by counter schemeing but if there is too much of that in the pre-season it could cloud the coaches judgement of the people on the bubble becasue it will depend on the talent around them. If they play straight up they look at the coaches tape and evaluate each player on how well they took care of their individual responsibilities. I don't have a problem with it and never panic about the pre-season.
  12. +1 We are definitely heading in the right direction. With Brady getting up in years, the jets being confused at Quarterback, and the Dolphins seemingly going no where we seem poised to be the ones to take over the mantle in the AFC East. There are many factors that affect that including career ending injuries that can set a team back, but I am truly hopefull for the first time since the Bledsoe signing!
  13. That is quite possibly the funniest and truest thing I have ever read.
  14. http://www.navytimes.com/news/2012/07/gannett-navy-seals-buffalo-sabres-prepare-nhl-season-071112/ Kind of surprising, I hope it pays off for them!
  15. I can tell you that I joined the Navy in 1985 and other than visits have been away from Western NY on various assignments since then. This wall gives me a link to home regardless of where I am in the world (currently in Guam) and helps ease any home sickness I may feel. I have met some people at the Hammer's lot tailgate so putting faces with names is good as well. I enjoy reading the discussions about the team and what is going on in the league! The wall and Two Bills Drive are awesome and I am glad I found them!
  16. Based on this post the Patriots suck because Brady was a 6th round pick, the 1999 Rams sucked because Warner worked in a grocery store. Quite possibly the worst post I have read here in the last 15 years!
  17. It is also just a short walk to the bathrooms for the camper lot if you are not willing to use a porta-potty. I go to one game a year and have been parking there since 1989 and wouldn't park any where else!
  18. Graduated from Gowanda, joined the Navy in 1985, my family is in the Virginia Beach area, I am serving a one year unaccompanied tour stationed in Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory.
  19. I think you missed two points: Burris was good but his carrer and potential was cut short on a punt return injury and Winfield is still a good player in the league. That goes back to the one contract and done mentioned in the original post. I also think part of that was the salary cap mess the Bills were in at the time.
  20. Given than Hangartner was center at the time I might consider Pouncy in hindsight, but I wouldn't have at the time.
  21. I saw him at training camp in Fredonia, as he was signing an autograph for me he told me "I ain't afraid of no toast". Ghostbusters was out at the time and the new idea of CB's getting burned like toast was fairly new, it was very funny at the time, especially for a teenager in awe of these guys...
  22. Sam Gash was always one of my favorite names!
  23. Just a a text from the Bills that he has signed! Sorry cant paste it here from my iPhone
  24. Another point to this is it is just more evidence that the power of positive thinking can be enormous. There have been many studies done but if it brings an extra influence to the Bills I will take it!
