[Vague Title] A New Beginning
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to Lombardi1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Correct. There is ZERO chance McBeane did not brief the Pegs and get owner buy-in for their plan to tear down and rebuild. -
EJ Manuel: What went wrong after year 1?
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
good thing theres nothing like that going on now. -
to the nattering nabobs of negativity: how is it that through two decades of a miserly owner, over-the-hill, rearward-looking management, castoff coaches with proven loss records coaching other teams, and JV team QBs with no real potential in the NFL, Bills fans consistently "circled the wagons" and found a way to "billieve" in bad teams … but now that we have an owner who puts football before profits, a young, forward-looking management team and coaching staff with a proven track record of getting us into the playoffs after 17 years of other peoples' failure, and a franchise QB who has signs of potentially being one of the greats, all you can repeat like a mantra of self-flagellation is: "woe, destruction, death and decay!" please follow another team.

Week 17 -- rooting for a win or loss?
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we still get Metcalf at or below #10. Most bad teams need D help. So I don't mind sliding a few spots. Meanwhile legions of clueless fans are ready to revolt because we took a step back to rebuild. We need a win going into the offseason to tamp down the (needless) drama. -
Yes. Last year they had to prove competence to Pegs and fans and ditch the curse. There was tremendous pressure to get to the playoffs. Also Beane and scouts were not in place for the draft and barely for FA. They could not have had a rebuild plan ready with owner buy-in much before Sep. Last year was NOT the first year of the rebuild.

Steelers Fan Keeping it Classy
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to prissythecat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
well to be fair, there were at least 3 Stillers fans trying to hold him back. so only 25% of Stillers fans can be said to be total d-bags. -
Baldy's Breakdown of Allen vs. Miami
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the consensus in the national media and most of this board until a few weeks was JA could not be an NFL QB due to: 1. accuracy. seems pretty accurate most of the time to me. many of his incompletions are catchable. 2. footwork. its all wrong and cant be fixed. right? I specifically remember this being an issue after the draft. 3. reading defense. he cant process fast enough. supposedly. 4. too big and slow. all big guys must be slow, its a rule somewhere. 5. Wyoming?? no one good comes from a school not ranked in the top ten nationally. its just not possible. -
Why I gave up on the process

wasn't footwork supposed to be the achilles heel of JA? yeah, right. -
Kiko - stunk as spy on Allen
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
especially since Kiko didn't ask to be traded he seemed shocked to hear it
