  1. Allen is utilizing his backs with dump off passes. It's also why his completion % is so high. He's basically become Tom Brady with a better arm and wheels.
  2. It's a good question, but I wonder what happens once Tre, Benford, Dane and Poyer are all ready to go again. I could see adding one piece to take Hyde's spot. Maybe a guy that could play both corner and safety? I don't follow the happenings around the league. Is there anyone that might be available via trade?
  3. Yikes. First I'm seeing this news. There is snakebitten and then there is the 2022 Buffalo secondary. Almost expecting to hear that Dorsey suffered a life threatening papercut from his postgame nuclear meltdown.
  4. I expect there to be some bumps along the road over the next few weeks, but I think these young safeties will be more than adequate by the midway mark of the season.
  5. We lost a 2 point game in week 3 (after piling up a +55 point differential against 2 playoff teams, btw) with an injury ravaged roster where we still managed to dominate yardage and TOP. We clearly need to BURN IT ALL DOWN!!!! SIGN SEAN PAYTON, OBJ AND TRADE FOR CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY OR WE ARE DOOMED I TELL YA!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
  6. I was just disappointed that the ball didn't get permanently lodged in his blocker's backside. That would have really been something.
  7. I found it funny and it was refreshing compared to when we had the likes of Jauron patrolling our sidelines. Kind of a funny yin and yang with him and the cool demeanor of our DC. Having said that, I absolutely would not want to work under that man. LOL. Dorsey actually does that every time we have to punt. Thankfully, it hasn't been too much of an issue so far.
  8. Look around the league, the peak for lead backs doesn't last long and there's guys from all sorts of draft positions getting it done (see Ekeler). I think Singletary is a good back and he's shown as much when we've given him the ball consistently. I'd argue our offensive line is probably adequate when healthy too. We just need to actually commit to running the ball. Backs and lines improve when given the opportunity to establish a rhythm. It might mean a couple of punts in the first half of games, especially early in the year as you're establishing that rhythm and consistency, but it will pay off down the road.
  9. Agreed. Peyton Manning at his peak had Edgerrin and Brady, while never having a great lead back, always had a good running game to support him. The Bills absolutely need to get this figured out over the next year. Times have changed, but there needs to be some balance (and that balance can't be coming from Josh's legs).
  10. I agree if he runs forward and gets tackled, we get an extra play there. But it's hard to fault the guy. His first priority is getting out of bounds. Second priority was getting it in Bass's range. That would be next level awareness for Ike to have gotten down in the middle of the field with 11 seconds there.
  11. Dilfer won because the Ravens had a collection of defensive players that comprised one of the top 3 defenses in NFL history. And it helped that they had a matchup in the Super Bowl against a crap team. As if Brian Billick, Marvin Lewis and the Ryans are some GOAT collection of coaching talent. I'd take our guys over those dudes any day of the week.
  12. I know it's become a board meme at this point, but there were posters who quite honestly found fault with his CLAPPING of all things. There are always going to be folks that look for the worst in every situation. Anything short of absolute perfection and they'll rush to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
  13. Cowherd is an idiot, because he's an idiot. Yesterday wasn't about the coaches' clock management. We drove down to the 1 yard line and had three plays to win. It was about execution. Say what you will about the 2nd down call (and we've debated the need to run plays out of shotgun due to Mancz being in there), but Josh has a short throw to an open receiver on 4th down. A play he makes 95% of the time. Can't fault the coaches for Josh turfing it there or Quessenberry taking a holding penalty to take us out of FG range in the final possession. Yesterday was about a lack of player execution in key moments. It wasn't about coaching decision making.
  14. He actually did that yesterday. He completed 16 passes to backs for 143 yards. That's 8.9 ypc on what were essentially extended running plays. So, it worked. Where he struggled yesterday was consistently being able to connect on the downfield throws.
  15. What were the numbers on the Bates signing? That's starting to look like a mistake. An old school Bills move of signing a "flash in the pan" guy and hoping he turns into a legit player. We need to commit serious draft resources to the oline next year.
  16. Cowherd is paid handsomely to say idiotic things to stir up fanbases. I'm not taking the bait. But I'm not a Pollyanna, either. This team has real issues at this point (BTW, all teams do), which I see as the following: 1. Injuries 2. Short yardage situations 3. Traditional RB-lead running game 4. Situational football (end game, 2 minute drill, etc.) Obviously, we can't do anything about the injuries, and on a day like yesterday, they clearly negatively enhanced all of the issues listed below it. Presumably, Morse is a short term issue and we should be able to improve in the running game with additional lineup continuity, a greater commitment to actually running the ball and smarter usage of the running back rotation. We saw what Devin could do late last year when we commit to running the ball and the offensive line, when healthy, should be improved over what we were trotting out there last December/January. The other issues? Yes, the coaches have to scheme a better way of attacking 3rd and 4th and short situations, and situational football definitely falls on the coaching staff. I'm sure they are practicing it, but it's certainly surprising to see a veteran team (looking at you Frazier and D) with a HOF caliber QB struggle in those late game and end of half situations. It needs to get better if we want to win a Super Bowl.
  17. Thank you. Funny that some people can't seem to accept this point. And more proof that our injuries were a huge reason for the loss. If we walk into that stadium relatively healthy, we win easily despite the heat.
  18. Yeah, not sure what these guys are seeing, but that absolutely was not complete control on Davis's part. Can't even pin that on Gabe, since he even turned to shield his body from the defender and put the ball in the hand furthest from the defender as he was bringing it in. It was just a hell of a play by the Miami DB.
  19. On the flipside, it's been 21 months since we lost a game by more than a single score.
  20. Yeah, that was an amazing stretch there. The fact that Josh was able to move those guys down the field (behind that line) was a minor miracle.
  21. Some may pooh-pooh the OP's point, but the heat obviously takes a toll and was an enormous factor in yesterday's loss. I'm a fit guy, an avid runner and cyclist, and know how to take care of myself in the heat, but sometimes it's just too much. Ran a HM a few years back and it was 83° with 90% humidity at the start at 7am. Sun was already out and blaring. I was working hard and hydrating like crazy, but I hit mile 10 and my systems just shut down and I essentially passed out on the road with heatstroke and had to be taken to the hospital. I can't imagine being out there as long as our o-linemen were, under helmets and pads They are going to still be feeling it for the next 48 hours.
  22. Wow! Lol. Now that's what I call a frustrating loss.
  23. Not sure, but you could field a pretty good team with just our injured players.
  24. I think people just find your negativity over the top. It's game 3 in a 17 game season. The Super Bowl wasn't won or lost today, and it's annoying when posters wait for losses to go, "see, the coaches suck and deserve no respect since they haven't won a Super Bowl.". I agree we shouldn't resort to name-calling, but people have the right to respond critically to posts that they find asinine.
  25. I agree, but we don't even get down there without that ridiculous dime he dropped to Singletary on 3rd and 10. Josh is a baller, but he's not infallible. But I ain't going to call him unclutch based on that throw. You saw what kind of stones he has against KC last year.
