NFL Week 8: Packers at Bills - post game thread

I agree. We dominated that first half. The final boxscore was surprising is all. -

I mean, I guess, but expecting perfection for 60 minutes every single game is asking a lot. A season has ebbs and flows. I'm happy that we could play a pretty bad half of football and still manage to walk away with a 27-17 win. Sign of a good team. -

Weird game. Outgained by 30 yards. Lost the turnover battle. GB won TOP 33:30-26:30. Hard to believe we won by 10 points. -

Playing to not get blown out it seems. -
Eagles keep wrecking the bums put in front of them. They look fantastic, but want to see how they fare against a real team or when facing adversity. But, man, AJ Brown is such a freaking stud, Sanders is finally fulfilling his potential and Hurts appears to have taken a huge leap. They look like they belong in the top-3 discussion with Buffalo and KC right now.

Hurts threw some jump balls too. Not sure why Bills fans are so damn defensive when it comes to Tua. He was 3rd in QBR and 4th in quarterback rating heading into today's game. Those will obviously improve after today. He'll never have a rocket arm or be in Josh or Mahomes stratosphere, and yes, he benefits from having great weapons, but he's become damn good given his limitations.

Strictly football speaking, the two guys I hate the most on gameday are Kelce and Mahomes, because they are cocky and great enough to regularly torture Bills fans with their play on the field. I completely respect their abilities as HOF players and they seem like cool enough dudes off the field, but damn, Kelce's smirk and dancing after a great play and Mahomes' silly looking "pony" trot just infuriate me when we play them. And I fully admit that if I were a Chiefs fan, I'm almost certain I'd feel the same way about Josh and Stefon.

Top 10 NFL Slot Receivers according to NexGen Stats
TheBrownBear replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm willing to give McKenzie a bit of a pass last game since he was just coming off a concussion, but I really don't see him as being anywhere near a top-10 slot receiver in today's NFL. It's a position that I think can be upgraded, and I think it will, once Shakir is ready to take on more responsibility. -
I agree. Seems a little childlike, ESL or possibly on the spectrum. And I don't mean that as an insult. He seems like an innocent enough person. Just an observation.

I consider myself a good person, but not so good that I can't enjoy a little schadenfreude when it comes to the losers who frequent places like FinHell or Queefs Planet. I'd never join those boards, but I do enjoy checking them out for 10-15 minutes after we beat them.

Hey, Ice Bowl. We feel your pain, buddy. We had 17 years of knowing we were going to get our azzes kicked when facing a top team. It's no fun at all. I'm trying to find reasons to be worried, but can't really find any. The Bills have the best defense in the league and the GB offense is putrid, and now their best WR weapons are injured. I think they may have issues on the offensive line too, but maybe I'm confusing that with another team. Honestly, as long as the Bills come out focused and protect the ball, this game should be over by halftime. And with it being a nationally televised night game, we know we are going to see Josh's A+ game, which should scare the absolute piss out of GB fans. I'm sticking by my prediction of Bills 37, GB 3.

I'm usually not a "let's go out and sign and/or trade for the big names" kind of guy, but these two dudes actually make sense given roster needs. I'd love to add a good interior offensive lineman as well, but not sure how realistic that is. These two skill guys are actually available and presumably could be had for a reasonable price.

Who are we going to play in the super bowl?

Kadarius Toney to the Chiefs for picks
TheBrownBear replied to wolfpack78's topic in The Stadium Wall
Despite this dude being a malcontent and looking like a bust (from an attitude and professionalism perspective), this trade worries me. If he "gets it", this is going to be a great acquisition for KC. You can almost envision him making some game-changing play in our stadium in January. At the end of the day, I guess I'm still fearful of the Chiefs. -
I think it's pretty similar actually, though I can't say that with complete certainty since I only visit Buffalo a couple of times/year, whereas I was living in Buffalo (and our family had season tix) during the great 80's/90's run (I'm 43). I think it's ultimately about the city itself and how it partially prides and defines itself by its connection to its professional football team. I mean, I still feel this way about the Bills and Buffalo and I've lived in Southern California for over 20 years. And I know many WNY transplants here that feel exactly the same.
