You can't just look at the final score and say it was a mistake. Also, consider that the Browns went for 1 and not 2 on that final touchdown. Let's say we kick that extra point, get to 23 and ultimately 32. Then the Browns would merely go for 2 on that last touchdown instead of kicking the EP. And that's to say nothing of all the little decisions between the failed 2 point conversion and the end of the game (including CLE going for their own 2 point conversion and failing) that are changed by the Bills instead opting for the EP following the Singletary touchdown. It was analytically the correct decision at the time and we ultimately won, so I can't really find anyway to complain too much about it.

Poyer and Milano seem to be above the rest - well, at least it seems that way for now until we experience our next critical injury to a defensive stalwart.

Yep. Liked the decision and liked the playcall. It was more creative than we've seen lately from Dorsey. It just didn't work out. Couldn't find much to criticize there.

Tre'Davious White - when will he be ready?
TheBrownBear replied to Deadstroke's topic in The Stadium Wall
If he's at a point with his confidence (or lack thereof), that he looks at guys like Lewis and Rhodes (to say nothing of Benford and Jackson) and "knows" he's not currently at their level and believes he would be hurting the team, then I absolutely have zero issue with him relaying this to McDermott and asking to remain inactive. There is no point in taking a spot on the gameday roster, if you have nothing positive to give. But in McDermott's defense, he's got an entire roster to juggle going forward, so it's understandable that he's slowly nudging Tre towards a "s*&% or get off the pot" type of ultimatum. We could be getting close to that point - my guess is the coaches start to really turn up the heat shortly after Tre has had a full month as an active practice participant, i.e., the Pats game. Neither guy is really wrong and no one really deserves any blame, IMO. -
The ease of 3rd & long against the Bills
TheBrownBear replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd sign up for this, and maybe the occasional spider walk and projectile vomiting in the face of the opponent's no. 1 WR, but that's as far as I'm willing to go with The Exorcist style of defense. -
You watch Mahomes and Kelce do this over and over and over again for years on end and it just feels like the Bills will forever be their B. Just really sucks. We must vanquish them in the playoffs and it will be in Arrowhead thanks to the Bills pissing away those Jets and Vikings games.

Yep. Hate to say it, but there's a chance that White is cooked. Alarms went off for me a couple of weeks ago when he talked about his struggle during rehab and how he talked about life without football. Prepare yourself for another first round CB draft pick this Spring.

What are your thoughts on John Murphy as our radio announcer?

Deadline to announce move to Detroit ??????????????

Obviously, the team moving to Detroit made zero sense (other than it being Ralph's home), but my heart still skipped a beat. -
The Chiefs....where is their next loss?
TheBrownBear replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall
They could easily lose this weekend. They are very very good and Mahomes is obviously great, but they aren't some world beaters. They just very narrowly escaped a loss in a game where the opposing QB could only complete 5 passes. But man, looking at the current standings, it is hard not to be completely sickened by the way the end of Sunday's game played out. Definitely still stinging for me and probably will until we get on another winning streak - hopefully, starting this Sunday. -
Allen's final throw, bad decision or bad pass?
TheBrownBear replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep. Saw this yesterday. It was just a terrible throw. I think he just came to him late and made a bad toss of the football. He had a few throws on Sunday that were off but he was bailed out by his receivers. That one unfortunately went right into Peterson's breadbasket. -
Disagree. It's the choice between a 2 score or 3 score game and you only need 2 yards to sustain that drive. It was the right decision - you have a freakishly mobile battering ram of a QB who is considered a top 5 player in the league - it was just a mix of bad playcalling and terrible execution.

Agree with the general sentiment of the thread. If we could somehow get somewhat healthy in the secondary and Josh stops playing hero ball, we can easily finish somewhere in the 12-5 to 14-3 range and host a home playoff game. I'm more worried about the endless injuries to the defense, than I am about Josh. Josh is frustrating as hell right now, but he's driven to win and will figure it out shortly.

Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills
TheBrownBear replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. In most of Josh's best games, he takes the checkdowns early and often and it opens up the rest of the field for him. He did this effectively in the NE playoff game and it's why we were able to gash them over and over again. I'm not sure how many times Josh needs to bang his head against the wall before he finally learns this lesson. -
Almost every coach would go for it there these days due to the analytics supporting it.

Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills
TheBrownBear replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
Possibly, but I get the feeling that Knox is a well liked guy by his teammates. He's not playing poorly either. They are using him mostly to block and then serve as a dump off outlet for Josh. When they actually send him out as a true downfield option he produces. I think it's a Dorsey/scheme issue. -
I actually think we looked damn good in the first half yesterday. Singletary was heavily involved, 2 rushing TDs and we were picking up chunks of yardage on the ground. Josh wasn't lighting it on fire, but was making the throws as needed. For whatever reason (Devin's fumble?), we completely went away from that and played right into the Vikings hands after the Dalvin Cook touchdown. Seemed like a collective chokejob by most everyone involved.

Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills
TheBrownBear replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills lead the NFL in yards per game, AKA, they are the No. 1 offense in the league. Unfortunately, they rank 31st in interceptions and total turnovers (18). By comparison, the Eagles have 3 total turnovers. It's not a lack of talent on that side of the ball. We have long stretches where we move the ball at will. We just need Josh to stop turning the damn ball over. Do that and we will win every game left on the schedule. -
Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills
TheBrownBear replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly. 486 yards and 30 points. Dorsey didn't hand the ball to the Vikes 4 times. It all comes down to lapses in concentration, sloppy play and being careless with the ball - and 90% of it falls on Allen. I LOVE the guy, but he needs to take the easy stuff for the good of the team. If we have to punt occasionally, so be it. It's part of the game and everyone does it. -
That was my thought. Stick him in the gun with the intention to run and provide a couple pass catching options should he get stuck in the end zone.
-
It's bizarre. We were dominating this game until Epenesa and Can Lewis took horrible angles on the long Cook TD, and then we just completely collapsed from there. It's becoming a theme.
-
This is probably the most bizarre takeaway I've seen from today's game.

I hate to say it, but Josh Allen has become a problem. Lost us two consecutive games.
