  1. Maybe the most shocking news I've ever heard!!!
  2. I agree. If he's hurt, he's hurt. Rest and heal up - get surgery if needed. But damn, while I'm obviously not ready to completely write off this season as a wash, it's starting to have that feel that it's just not meant to be. Feels like the team is just bandaged together at this point.
  3. Well, F...
  4. Nah, that was at home in 90 or 91. I think there were miserable winds that day.
  5. Hackett stinks but Russ is horrible. Just look at how improved Seattle's offense is with GENO FREAKING SMITH running the show!
  6. Not sure about the source. Has this guy ever broken big news before?
  7. I want in with you guys. Very rare cancer as a kid and still dealing with the side and late term effects of chemo and radiation. I too have never won in a game of chance - which at least kept me from developing a gambling habit. Had a dream backpacking trip planned to Glacier a year in advance and the day before my backcountry reservation my car broke down in Billings, Montana. Had to stay in a KOA for a week instead while the mechanic waited for parts. My wife left me for a woman, but other than that I can't remember another instance of "good luck" during my 40+ years on Earth.
  8. Not a great comparison, since Lamar's insult wasn't directed at gay men at all. Lamar's intent was to insult that specific man, regardless of that dude's sexuality. Obviously, the attempted insult was insinuating that the dude was gay, which shouldn't be an insult. When someone, like Lamar, uses it as an insult against a straight man, then that demonstrates, at minimum, a level of ignorance that needs correcting, or, at worse, flat out bigotry. Now I have no way of knowing what lies inside LJ's heart regarding gay men, so I can't go as far as calling him a bigot, but he clearly demonstrated his ignorance with his tweet. But I get what you're saying - what Lamar said was insulting to gay men (though, apparently not all gay men as Dopey makes clear). So it clearly makes sense that many gay men would be offended by it.
  9. Agreed. Looking good and playing with a sense of desperation. Need to make it count on the board.
  10. So, the Bills are still tied to their Carolina roots, even where luck is concerned? Great.
  11. Sure, as a human being I can feel that. But that's why people are just better off avoiding social media altogether as it tends to attract a certain amount of trolls/sadists who get off on ruining another person's day. I hate to say it, but it sort of "comes with the territory" at this point. Social media isn't a safe space. Assuming that you must use it for your business/brand or whatever, you'd best be very careful about what message you're putting out there, how it's worded and to whom it's directed, and even then, you better damn well be prepared for some negative reactions.
  12. I generally agree with most of what you've written here. I think it's fine to call something out that is offensive, regardless of the severity of the offense. I think people and society as a whole struggle with the appropriate "intensity" of the response. What deserves a true public flogging or doxxing, and what deserves a "hey, that wasn't very nice and it is offensive to X/Y/Z, etc?" Some believe any perceived verbal offense against a marginalized group deserves a harsh rebuke. Others believe that should be reserved for "hate speech" that could conceivably endanger the physical safety of members of said group. And then we get to the question of what language actually endangers the safety of said group - which reasonable people can disagree on. At the end of the day, for the betterment of society and our ability to "all just get along" it's best to just be mindful of what we put out into the world, try our best to be kind in thoughts, words and actions, and do our best to minimize harm. Having said all that, I also believe we all need to learn to live with a certain amount of mild offensiveness - to get comfortable with a certain amount of emotional discomfort. No matter how wonderful you may think you are (and you may very well be) there are always going to be others out there who are not going to like you, the way you think or the way you live. It's so easy to take it personally, get emotional and flip out, but in the end it's better for your own sanity and wellbeing, to shrug it off, and acknowledge that it isn't anything you've done or can control.
  13. You're right. Looks like that Giardi guy screwed up with his tweet. Dawkins apparently has been a DNP all week. Bummer. That had me excited for a minute.
  14. Even brushing aside the fumbling, he's a 29 year old RB averaging 3.5 ypc with a long of 17 yards. The point is we have no reason to fear him signing with the Chiefs (or lament the fact that we didn't sign him). I'd be shocked if he has any real impact for the Chiefs this year. That's assuming he even makes the active roster.
  15. Nice. So outside of Von, we are actually looking relatively "healthy", at least from a "can they suit up on gameday" perspective. Hopefully, we can stay that way for a bit, win these two big divisional games, and then Von returns in a limited fashion to help us squish the fish in primetime on 12/18. Sweep those three, no matter how ugly, and then things are really looking rosy again (especially if the Bengals can do us a solid this week).
  16. It's really interesting to see how a poster becomes emboldened over time into thinking they need to create a new thread every day regardless of whether it adds anything to the board. Not directing this at the OP or anything. Just a thought that popped into my head.
  17. Almost certain this was it. He thought his guy was down by contact since he was on the ground, and then he thought his defensive teammates were celebrating and running toward the sideline, so he just ran out in excitement to greet them. You can see him hesitate for a split second when he's on the field, like, "oh F*#!", before continuing to block, lol.
  18. Uh oh, are we talking about the return of our pale, ever so controversial former receiving option.... Lee Smith?
  19. I love that a wide open 52 yard touchdown is labeled "incredible 75 yard touchdown catch!"
  20. Thanks for that info, Big Turk. Even if it doesn't come to fruition, it's nice to be given a nugget of hope on a Monday morning.
  21. I think he's referring to our current injury luck. Like when we signed Rhodes and he pulled his hamstring trying on his practice jersey.
  22. I generally agree, but it could also be somewhere in the middle. Hard to say. But I definitely agree with what you said earlier, if it appears that it could be a medical emergency, the flight crew definitely needs to actively deal with it. It sounds like that was what they were trying to do initially. Now, once he was awake and cogent, it becomes an issue of how could they have dealt with the situation to ensure his safety and the safety of the other passengers, while also trying to preserve the dignity of the guy in that moment. Maybe they did everything by the book? Maybe he was a complete ass once he was awake? Who knows. Overall though, this is much ado about nothing, imo.
  23. As someone who has been there in the past, my guess is he was hungover/exhausted and then took something extra to sleep through the flight like a benzo or some THC gummies (I'm in California) or something. I had a pretty intense fear of flying for many years (no longer, thankfully) and I would often take something when boarding the plane for a cross-country flight that I knew would flat out knock me out for 3-4 hours. If the plane were sitting on the runway for 2 hours, decent chance I'd be out cold or disoriented if a flight attendant tried to get my attention 2 hours later.
  24. Yes, but ignoring all that, how do these guys make you "feel?"
  25. Here here!!! A round of applause and pink slips for Leslie and the boys! (JK)
