  1. I'd take one letdown/crap season if it meant a SB win this year, but 5 years? Is Josh Allen retiring after the Super Bowl?
  2. Prayers up to all the WNY'ers here. My sister is sending me updates and it looks nasty. Here in San Diego we are looking at 80 degree temps. Gonna head to the beach after we open presents on Christmas morning.
  3. I was with you until this last line. Anyone who actually watches all of the games could never come away thinking he was a "below average player." IMO, he's clearly an above average player. But yes, he doesn't get enough sacks to be considered among the top-3 who were selected.
  4. Yeah too bad. Sammy Watkins was available for a hot minute. Super talented guy who doesn't care if he's ever targeted!
  5. I was going to post the same. A lot of them do have that diva personality - Diggs included, but not all (See Larry Fitzgerald).
  6. Thanks for sharing. Good post overall. Just a couple of nitpicks: On No. 3 (Bills rushing attack) - you mention that being our only effective drive in the past three weeks, but I'd say we ran the ball pretty damn effectively against New England two weeks ago. The only problem in that game was Dorsey getting away from it for a couple of series to start the second half. On Nos. 7/8 (Bills run D) - as others have said, it was mostly a tackling issue as opposed to the D-line getting blown off the ball. We were in nickel almost the entire evening to take away the Phins short-to-intermediate passing game (and that generally worked - we got beat over the top more than anything). Our LBs and safeties really needed to step up with some sure tackling at the second level in the run game and too frequently they just whiffed. And I think the time off must have been well spent, since I thought this was one of your better "thoughts" posts.
  7. If Josh has three more games like last weekend and we finish 14-3, there's a really good chance he wins it. Gotta think the voters will take our SOV and SOS into account and then look at the fact that he beat Mahomes, Lamar, Burrow, Tua, etc head to head.
  8. And he really should have fumbled another time when he tried to swim the ball over a defensive player with one hand in a desperate attempt to score (I think this may have been the play before the Knox TD). He's much much better than he was during his first two seasons, but that reckless streak hasn't been completely tamped down.
  9. Every opponent and opposing player "scares" me in the sense that this is the NFL and on any given Sunday you can get your ass beat. On the whole though, I'd much prefer a matchup against the Bears and Fields than a game against any of the 20 or so teams that still have playoff aspirations.
  10. Yeah, that stat isn't good, but, weirdly, while watching the games (post the back-to-back Jets/Minny debacles) it doesn't seem to me that they are allowing an extraordinary amount of 4th downs. I guess I was just surprised by it.
  11. I'm hoping that was the "tide has turned" play with regards to the fumbles. It sure felt like it while watching in real time. All of the momentum was with Miami and Josh had just fumbled on the previous possession, and then he fumbles again but it goes right to Brown. Then Cook rips off a nice run and Josh hits them a moment later with the big 45 yard sprint down the sideline and the rest is history. Now we just need one of our DBs to come down with one of these 50/50 jump balls that the opposing receivers keep plucking out of the azzes.
  12. Wouldn't expect anything less from a USC and Patriots alum.
  13. Same here. No problem with Kugler, but Sanchez is the absolute worst.
  14. Looks like McDermott needs to fire up the "I wish it were colder" silkscreen t-shirt maker this week!
  15. I complained during the GDT, but let's be real. A snowball lobbed from the bleachers isn't going to injure grown men in pads and helmets, even unprotected coaches and staff on the sidelines. Yeah, it may sting, but it isn't causing lasting damage. It seemed natural that drunkards were going to throw snow in that environment. I don't think it made Buffalonians look all that bad, and honestly, the types whose panties were in a bunch about that aspect of it, aren't anyone whose opinions matter to me. The fans have earned more than enough goodwill through all of their generous acts over the years (and their dogged commitment to the team through a decade and a half of misery), to make up for 15-20 minutes of generally harmless childishness. My complaints and frustrations stemmed solely from the possibility of them costing the team a penalty once they were warned.
  16. It was the right play at the time and it helped seal our victory. Sanchez is a complete moron and spewed nonsense the entire evening, so when he started going off on Singletary, I knew for certain it was the right play by Devin. When the Bills ran it to zero, Sanchez abruptly changed course and said the Dolphins should have pulled Singletary into the end zone to get the ball back. Bottom line - this is not your father's NFL. Teams can move the ball 80 yards in the blink of an eye these days. 30 seconds, two timeouts and Hill and Waddle vs. having to make an old school extra point length FG from your kicker's preferred hashmark? Seems like an easy decision to me.
  17. You're right. I thought about it immediately after clicking "submit reply" and knew you'd respond with the above, which I agree with completely. I was referring more to getting "angry" about it I guess, since the Texans will lose this game either way.
  18. They weren't winning this game regardless. At least they're keeping it entertaining for a half
  19. How do you know they didn't see something schematically? Also, whatever Dorsey dialed up during the last two drives seemed to work, no, including runs to Singletary and Josh's drop back pass attempts? Oh, and there's also the fact that we were playing without our starting center and starting guard (who just happens to be our best backup center as well). Yeah, the online has issues, can't deny that, but let's not pretend that injuries haven't been a major issue as well.
  20. Must be the unluckiest team in the NFL. Ridiculous.
  21. What makes me absolutely sick is the thought of McDaniel owning us for a decade while we waste Josh Allen's career.
  22. Hamlin sucks man. He's horrible. We have some legit holes to fill this off-season
  23. We deserve to lose this game. Disgusted
