Wow! I totally forgot about the Poona Ford signing. If the back end can hold up health-wise, this should be our best defensive roster under McDermott.

Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)

The Bengals game was a mess - no arguing that. But didn't we still have a top 2 or 3 overall offense while playing in one of the better defensive divisions in football? We scored at will in the 2021 playoffs and where did that get us? (don't get me wrong - i love scoring at will) -
BOOM! Beane not playing around. Other than the Von signing and Diggs trade, Beane previously seemed patient with allowing the Bills championship window to open and grow organically with the players already in the system. He clearly seems to have learned the lessons of the past two years and is getting far more proactive/assertive and making a push to win now.

Bills/Chiefs week 6 on NFL ntwk right now
TheBrownBear replied to Bills fan since 87's topic in The Stadium Wall
What's crazy is how quickly the mainstream sports media has dumped us and basically written us off as also-rans. I was at the gym this morning and one of the ESPN talk shows (I think "Get Up") were discussing the question of who, besides the Bengals, could disrupt the Chiefs' "dynasty" and win a Super Bowl. I think there were four dudes on the panel and not one of them picked the Bills. I recall one picking the Chargers and another picking Miami. I mean, those two teams have the potential to be very good, but they are clearly still well behind the Bills as of last season, and we've only appeared to improve and get healthy during the offseason. Such is the power of our complete no-show against the Bengals to end the season in shaping public perception. -
Nice. Cap space. Now Beane can sign some former Panthers street free agents. I'm kidding, of course (I hope)

The Toronto Blue Jays organization is absolute trash

I'm not going to attack Bass here. I guess he could submarine his career and lose money for his integrity, but I'd probably do the same as he is - tow the line, drain the organization of their money, and redirect those earnings (Blue Jay bucks) into causes you're passionate about. But the Woke mob double standard is once again on display here. These organizations have no problem with players making loud and visible political statements in support of radical Marxist groups, but a player can't make a private personal statement in defense of their religious beliefs without major blowback? -
You must be old, Bob Jones, lol. I'm a middle aged guy and I definitely know her. She's a pretty big actress and pop star. Was an Academy Award nominee for True Grit. In the Pitch Perfect movies. Has a starring role in one of the Disney Marvel shows, etc. Star of one of the Apple TV original shows. When I saw the thread title I assumed it would be some C lister or IG model type, but this girl is a pretty big deal. She's got 20 million followers on social media. Her and Josh are probably about equally popular. I kind of dig that he's with a woman who really has her own thing going on and isn't with him for money or clout and will give him tons of space since she'll have her own work to attend to.

Yeah, he seems to be into women. Bad news for all of the male posters here.

I used it last year and will use it again this year. My recollection is that the full games were available very shortly after the game ended - maybe 10-15 minutes afterwards? I thought it was good deal for the price. I just try to put myself in a bubble during those roughly 5 hours (3 hours of live game time and 2 hours while you're watching the replay). I'll go for a long bike ride, play golf or go surf during the games and watch them when I get home.

Future MVPs incoming. Though, hard not to feel he couldn't do much better.

Are there any potential post-June 1st cuts at RT or pass rusher that makes it imperative that we hold onto whatever remaining cash we have? I definitely agree with your overall point. You only sign Hopkins if you are okay putting Davis on the bench. -

No. Maybe they were just dating at some point. -

Yep. Throw in Cook in passing situations and you've got a lot of legitimate receiving threats running around out there. -

Yeah, maybe he'll sign with Carolina, so we can pick him up in 2024. -
Ross Tucker ranks NFL Coach’s, places McDermott at #22.

I love Josh, but I think Burrow, and certainly Mahomes are better. -

I actually think this applies more to McDermott than Marty. McDermott clearly didn't put the guys in position to be competitive against the Chiefs in 2020 or against the Bengals last year. Marty didn't make Ernest Byner fumble a ball on the goal line or Marlon McCree fumble a game clinching interception against the Patriots. Marty just seemed a magnet for terrible luck. -

Sorry. This is recency bias run amok. I don't love McDermott, but there is no way he's in the bottom third of coaches in the league. Unfortunately, we have Reid/Mahomes and Burrow in our way, which is quite the roadblock. Yes, a great coach might find a way to get over that hump, but that doesn't mean McDermott is a "bad" coach, which is how Tucker has him ranked. -
Haven't read through the thread, but how many of those were one score wins? I'm guessing he's batting over .500. Josh is always going to be more of a high-risk/high-reward guy and I'm okay with that. Agree with you there. Josh definitely had some head scratchers the past two years where he seemingly threw it to an opponent who was all by themselves (Sauce Gardner and Jaire Alexander picks come to mind).

Thanks, Bill. I know the past couple of seasons didn't end the way we all hoped, but just reading these comments you'd think Frazier had been stewarding the #32 ranked defense in the league the past few seasons instead of the top 3 defense that we were. And he did all that without any fearsome pass rushers (minus a handful of games with Von), numerous major injuries and a MLB with fairly mediocre instincts. As a fan, I am ready for a change as well in the hope that it might get us over the hump, but I also acknowledge that the defense could likely get worse in Frazier's absence. I'm old enough to remember how excited many of us were to see the conservative Ted Cottrell replaced by Greg Williams/Jerry Gray at the time.

Yes. I got the "growing pains" run around for nearly six months before my GP finally referred me to an orthopedic surgeon for a biopsy. I couldn't sleep at night or sit still at school because of the pain. By that time I had a baseball sized tumor in my left leg. We absolutely have to be advocates for our children when it comes to their medical care. I'm so sorry to hear of that family's loss.

My stinkin Padres could definitely use this guy.

Thanks for sharing. Very sad (and sweet) story. My heart breaks for her family. I was the same age as Sophia when I was diagnosed with Ewing's. I was obviously very fortunate, but I had friends like Sophia who weren't as lucky.
