The next six games are brutal - how will we do?
TheBrownBear replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looks like 1-5 to me. 0-6 looks like a real possibility, especially since we'll be on a 3 game losing streak when we face Tennessee at home, so we might have mentally packed it in by that point. -
Wow! To be honest, this is shocking to me. Has he been that bad? Anyhow, thanks for the memories Brian. You were one of the lone bright spots during a dark period in Bills history. I'll never forget some of those awesome fakes he had early in his career. He was a great athlete, not just a great punter.

Lol...it's just a game guys. Just accept the fact that the officiating is going to be substandard until the regular refs come back. It will all play itself out and be resolved soon enough.
-
choice was huge today.

agree. Hard pressed to score any more points in this game. I see a 10 point Browns victoy.

we are cursed.

This has to be the blueprint for a successful season.

Sadly, I think you're right. The guy has lost all confidence and just looks confused/lost out there. Compare this dude to the guy we saw during most of 2011 and the beginning of 2012. It's night and day. He lost his confidence during the first Jets game last year and he's been mostly terrible since then (notwithstanding, strangely, the other Jets game). We need to do whatever it takes to acquire a top qb in the coming draft or it will be groundhog day all over again for the foreseeable future.

What do you guys think? Drop Malcolm Floyd for Alfred Morris?

Throwing on my sunshine pumper hat: - As others have said, it was only 1 game. - It was a road loss to a quality opponent. These are going to happen to the best of teams. It was a game we could afford to lose. - The team showed some pride and at least fought back in the second half. - Spiller looked great. Having said that, count me among the very concerned re Fitz, our WR corp, the defensive scheme, etc. I'm not as concerned as others with the secondary. It's a young group with a lot of talent. They will improve as we move through the season, and I think they can be a strength before it's all said and done. I think a big key is we can't afford to fall behind early. Fitz obviously is incapable of carrying the load with the feeble weapons he has. We need to keep games close and run the ball as much as possible. My big worry is that Chan is incapable of adjusting his philosophy.

Bills Release Merriman!
TheBrownBear replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's washed up and didn't fit the scheme. Never should have signed him, but the Bills were beggars at the time. -
If you could go back in time and watch any Bills game live

I'll say last year's victory over the Pats. I was at the comeback, 51-3, and the Miami snow game, and yes, they were all a blast. -
Penn State sanctions handed down

Perfect penalty in my opinion. Effectively kills the football program for a decade while minimizing the collateral damage to the community (local business) and other school sports programs. And by vacating the wins, Paterno's legacy is demolished in one swift blow. -
What were the Best Seats at a Event Personally

Hah! That's the one. My Mom was a UB student at the time and we all rolled out to campus. -

that's awesome. SRV was my first concert ever. My parents took me when I was 4 years old. I still remember sitting on my Dad's shoulders to catch a glimpse of Stevie. -

Front row of the pit for Radiohead @ the santa barbara bowl in 2001 (amnesiac tour). Could literally reach out and touch Ed and Thom. Since Radiohead is my alltime favorite band, that was obviously an awesome night that I'll never forget. Same spot for Janes Addiction that same year. Sporting event-wise is probably the lower/floor student seating for UCLA basketball. Our teams were mostly disappointing during my time there, but I did get to see baron davis do some absolutely freakish things on the court. Been to tons of lakers/clippers/kings games in a private box at staples. Not the greatest 'seats' but I sure did enjoy the unlimited heinekins and buffalo wings. -
Will Shawne Merriman End the Season on I.R.?
TheBrownBear replied to ThurmasThoman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll be shocked if he plays 8 games. My guess is he breaks down again sometime early in the season and he ends up with an injury settlement. I hope I'm wrong, but this is what his history tells me. -
Epic comeback post by the OP. Sorry for your loss.

*Thumbs up* Also hope that being a homophobe isn't a requirement of being a "Buffalo guy." I'll say a Buffalo guy is any man who was born, raised, or otherwise lived in the city of Buffalo; loves the city despite it's faults and is PROUD to call himself a Buffalonian; and treats all of his neighbors with the respect they deserve. That's a "Buffalo Guy" to me.

Finish .500 or better in the division. Pull that off and we should see a minimum of 9 overall victories.

Ok, so now we REALLY like Pat Kirwan

I'm a natural pessimist, but I have to say that ON PAPER our defensive line and secondary are SICK! Based on those two units alone I expect us to be a top-10 defense. Not crazy about the linebackers though. None of those guys cover much ground. -
[closed]Looking at this years schedule with optimism...
TheBrownBear replied to McD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we can avoid the catastrophic injuries we suffered last season, there's no way we shouldn't win at least 9 games. Our success all really rests on whether or not Fitz can maintain a solid level of play over a 16 game schedule. Last year's second half slide has me a bit concerned in that regard. Was it the injuries or is Fitz just mediocre?
