  1. I like it. It should drive up fan interest and ticket sales for the late season games. We'd have a ton more "meaningful" games during that last 2-3 weeks than we currently have. The problem with hockey and basketball (and baseball) is that their seasons' are way too long to begin with, then they tag on the added annoyance of best of 7 (or 5) series and it becomes one long slog. This is just stupid. You'd still have to be in the top half of the league to get in. And as Bills fans, we know that isn't all that easy.
  2. Thank you! I live in San Diego and can attest to the fact that this guy is Fitz without the mobility. Listen to sports radio here and you'd swear you were in Buffalo. "No arm. Underthrows receivers. Turnover machine. Unclutch. Game ending picks., etc." If you really like Fitz, but only wished he were more frequently sacked and lost more fumbles, then you'd absolutely love Rivers.
  3. Rivers sucks and is past his prime. It's not just his o-line, there is something wrong with him physically and he can no longer make all the throws. And over the past three seasons, he's one of the least clutch QBs I've ever seen. At best, we'd be looking at a late career Bledsoe kind of return on an investment in Rivers. I'd rather draft a young QB in the 2nd or 3rd round (you know, the Kaepernick, Dalton, Wilson-types we keep passing on) and letting them develop for a year, than set ourselves back for 3-4 years with Rivers.
  4. I could get behind a Perry Fewell hire. There was just no way we could have hired him three years ago. Fans would have cried bloody murder if we had hired a member of Jauron's staff.
  5. I'm a UCLA guy and watch pretty much every Pac-12 game. David Shaw is the real deal. His schemes are far better suited than Kelly's for the pro game. He's the next Harbaugh, imo.r.
  6. Look at Luck's numbers yesterday - he sucked - and he still got a win. The difference is coaching. Fitz pretty much has to play a perfect game for us to win. Look around the rest of the NFL and you'll find plenty of pedestrian QB performances that result in victories. I'm not arguing that we can't do better than Fitz, but he's good enough to win with if we had a solid head coach and a decent receiving corp. And for all those who try to make the argument that Chan "made" Fitz and that he could turn any QB into a serviceable player, please watch the Trent Edwards' quarterbacked games from 2010. We made something like 150+ yard improvement per game when Fitz took over. That's not Chan, that's Fitz.
  7. I like Nix and the talent he's assembled. I now believe this is on Gailey. He's giving away winnable games with his absurd playcalling and time management decisions. This team should be no worse than 7-6 with competent coaching. Fire Gailey, hire David Shaw and we are a playoff team in 2013 (even with Fitz).
  8. honestly, we are a much better team. I think our struggles are more mental than anything else. We can't seem to make that one play to close out a game when we need it.
  9. "Disaster" written all over it? Hate to break it to you, but there's no such thing as a disastrous loss when you're 4-7. The disaster is being 4-7 in the first place.
  10. Yes. 8-8 would be a good year, and be a sign of positive progress made by Chan (4-12, 6-10, 8-8). I haven't been thrilled with Chan's playcalling of late, but barring a complete collapse I think he deserves at least one more year. Also remember, turnarounds do not happen overnight. Just look at Jeff Fisher - I think it took him five years to break .500 with the Titans.
  11. The o-line is young, already solid, and will only get better. We have deficiencies in three areas - coaching, linebacking, and quarterbacking. If we can shore up two of those three areas in the offseason we will be a playoff team.
  12. I feel you, buddy, but it's just a bunch of overpaid lunkheads playing a child's game after all. Don't let it get to you. Just enjoy it for what it is - a three hour escape from the grind.
  13. David Shaw. He will make some NFL franchise very happy.
  14. we are doing him a favor. Saving his best years for his 2nd contract when he's playing for a real playoff competing nfl franchise. That's why he's smiling.
  15. agree. I'd love to see us make a play for david shaw. He is the real deal imo. Groomed andrew luck and is doing a great job with Hogan. Has Stanford playing a man's game right now.
  16. lol. He's worse than fitz.
  17. this. We are looking at 6-10 at best. Jags and st louis are our only real chances for a win, and neither will come easy.
  18. stat of the game: Spiller only 14 carries in a game we lost by a score.
  19. this team is clearly talented but poorly coached. Bring in a real coaching staff and this is a playoff team.
  20. I see 8-8 as the high end at this point. 6-10 or 7-9 is more likely
  21. wow. Jets D just flat out quit there.
  22. I feel bad for this guy and his family, but way too many people get way too out of control at the Ralph. I feel like it's gotten much worse over the years. We had season tickets when I was a kid and I never remember it being anywhere near as bad as it was the last time I attended a game in 2010. I would never think about bringing my family to a game now.
