  1. Some dumb decisions off the field, but by all accounts I've read, he's very advanced when it comes to his mental development on the field. I've also heard he's a good student. I'm a relatively smart guy but I did some very stupid and irresponsible things in my late teens while in college.
  2. He's young and his missteps are borne from immaturity, not malice. He's a great talent and I wouldn't have a problem rooting for him, so long as he continues to mature and eliminates the embarrassing actions.
  3. TY. Nice post. Hit the nail on the head.
  4. No. I'm just enjoying this moment for what it is. A young football team that's played two very good games. If Manuel continues to protect the ball and plays the caretaker role, I can see this season mirroring 1988, not 2008/2011.
  5. @ Texans in a defensive slugfest.
  6. Chargers don't really ever blow anyone out. I expect a Bills win. I think we play conservatively again and the difference is a defensive or special teams touchdown. Bills 23 Chargers 17
  7. Exactly. Bills' opponents are 0-2 against the Buffalo Bills. Consider that for a moment before heaping praise on the Bills for these victories.
  8. San Diego played a perfect game. I've lived here for 7 years and that's the best I've ever seen them play. They always struggle in early games on the road (outside of their playoff win at Cinci last year). I expect a Bills' win.
  9. Ohrnberger has been solid for the Chargers. I don't think there's that much of a dropoff between him and Hardwick.
  10. "But this is how we've always done it in the Catholic Church!"
  11. There is no more impressive 2-0 team in the league. That should be good enough for #19 this week.
  12. I live in San Diego. Chargers are mediocre on defense and they don't have a ton of team speed in general. Rivers keeps them in games, but I don't think they're anything better than an average team. If we protect the ball, I think we win. Something like 23-16.
  13. Not Easy to run against 8 in the box. Manuel has to hit throws.
  14. They are begging EJ to beat them but the kid is just so inaccurate. I don't see how he's ever going to be a good qb in this league.
  15. To be honest, assuming we get half way decent play from Manuel, we should win the next two games. I live in San Diego and am not very impressed with the Chargers overall talent. Pretty average team all-around. Think the Phish are the better of the two teams.
  16. Yeah, but we are talking about a dude that beat his wife and then slit her and another poor guy's throats. Kind of hard to feel proud when you see that guy honored in a big, highly visible way at your stadium.
  17. Yeah, Riemersma was a pretty solid tight end. I feel like we had another guy during the Bledsoe era that wasn't half bad, but his name escapes me now.
  18. Sure. So long as you enjoy public embarrassment.
  19. What a great day for Bills fans! Thank you Terry and Kim, and most of all, thank you Ralph and Mary Wilson for ensuring that the Bills stay in Buffalo for the long haul!
  20. Boyd is so good that the Jets couldn't even find a spot on the practice squad for him. And he's "athletic" so he must have huge upside. Plus, I've heard of him and his college games were on ESPN. Get 'er done Doug!
  21. I agree he did enough yesterday to win (obviously). I just don't buy him as a long term solution (yet) based on eyeball test and past performance. Hope I'm wrong because I'd like to win now versus another 3 year rebuild.
  22. lol. this board is bi-polar. manuel is still a mediocre qb with a subpar feel for the game. he threw for what? 170 yards? defense won that game, plain and simple. remember, even jp had his moments.
  23. I think Cutler throws for 300, so I'll go with 420 total.
  24. History and preseason eyeball test tell me "prepare for another season of futility." Bears win 24-6 or some other forgettable score in that ballpark. 5-11 here we come.
