Week 5: Bills at Titans on Tuesday Night Football
TheBrownBear replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just fine the Titans organization the amount due to the Bills players and reroute the money that way. Problem solved. -
Haskins benched in Washington
TheBrownBear replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
EJ sucked. He got unseated by Tyrod Taylor! Coaches like to bring in their own QBs. Not develop someone else's project. I don't blame Rivera. He has no real investment in Haskins. Plus, Kyle Allen showed some good things in his first two years in the league and is only 24 years of age. Gives them a better chance to win now and he's young and still has room to grow. My guess is Haskins gets dumped or traded, Washington drafts their next QB this offseason and Allen serves as the bridge. Smith hangs on as the mentor. -
Week 5: Bills at Titans on Tuesday Night Football
TheBrownBear replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Forfeits are just not going to happen. It's just not fair to the rest of the AFC if the Bills and Steelers get to pocket an extra win and bye week. Hit these guys where it hurts. TN should lose a first round pick for every game that's been postponed and hit every player with a fine equal to their gameday paychecks. And Vrabel needs to face a 4-week suspension. This is just ridiculous. -

Josh's Amazing Array of Throws From Yesterday
TheBrownBear replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No hyperbole, but Josh Allen is the most exciting quarterback I have watched in my lifetime. Vick comes close, but the current version of Josh is just like every QB attribute (outside of decision making...haha) set straight to 100. Size, strength, speed, intelligence, elusiveness, toughness, arm strength, touch, accuracy, will, clutchness and leadership...oh my!!! Holy crap we have hit the jackpot with this dude. Also, I live in SoCal and my friends who are fans of other teams LOVE watching Allen. I get texts every Sunday telling me that Allen is their favorite player in the NFL. -
QB Derek Carr 'sick of losing' after Bills loss
TheBrownBear replied to inthebuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know. Carr looks good enough to win with. I think they're hurting right now since he has no real receiving weapons outside of Waller. And their defense sucks too. I'd take Carr over every quarterback we've had from 1997-2019. -
Zay Jones - What If He Played With This Josh Allen?
TheBrownBear replied to HardyBoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has always looked oddly "weak" to me compared to other receivers around the league. Not sure if it's his body type or what. But he looks weak and slow and he has always had suspect hands. I think he's likely out of the league completely within 2-3 years. -
What happens if you flip flop Darnold and Allen?
TheBrownBear replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Darnold would have gotten to a "good" level quicker than Allen, but he would never have reached the heights we are seeing from Josh now. I think Josh would have been in much the same situation as Darnold or possibly even worse if he was with the Jets. That is just a death trap for any quarterback that walks in there. -
Hypothetical: Chances we regret losing Daboll?
TheBrownBear replied to jletha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. Look at all the HOF franchise quarterbacks. They all had multiple offensive coordinators. This team was on an upward trend carried by the leadership and the defense of McDermott. Daboll is doing a great job and I'd hate to lose him, but I don't think it's the death of the Josh Allen Buffalo Bills. -
Josh Allen - week FOUR report card
TheBrownBear replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's all part of the maturation process. And someday we will look back and miss these insane, yet dynamic plays. I choose to enjoy it for what it is. -
Josh Allen - week FOUR report card
TheBrownBear replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh is it! After 24 years we are finally among the NFL annointed. Going to be a memorable decade. I am drunk. 😁 -
Week 4 Around the league.
TheBrownBear replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Herbert absolutely reminds me of Josh, but way ahead of where Josh was as a rookie. This kid is looking like a stud. Could be some great AFC wars over the next decade with Mahomes, Allen, and Herbert. -
Dan Le Batard FINALLY Eats Crow on Josh Allen
TheBrownBear replied to mykidsdad's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bill Barnwell, another Allen hater, has finally had his come to Joshy moment as well (from ESPN): "Bills fans who expected Josh Allen to come good after struggling earlier in his career have every right to crow about what they've seen through three weeks. After taking a step forward in 2019 and improving his decision-making, he has taken an enormous stride this season. In 2018, Allen was a hindrance to the Bills' chances of winning. In 2019, he was good enough to stay out of the way. In 2020, he is driving Buffalo's success. This team would not be 3-0 without Allen playing as well as he has.... Although Allen missed a pair of open receivers for touchdowns against the Jets in Week 1 as a product of footwork issues, his accuracy is undeniably better so far in 2020. His CPOE has improved to plus-3.7%, the eighth-best mark in the league among quarterbacks. He looks more comfortable in the pocket and has done a better job of repeatedly setting himself to throw before making accurate passes. On Sunday, when pressured by the Rams in the second half, we even saw him drop down and attempt some nearly sidearm passes to get the ball out before Aaron Donald & Co. could get home, often successfully. The other big problem was that Allen wasn't an effective deep passer. In 2019, on throws traveling 16 or more yards downfield, he ranked 29th out of 32 passers in QBR (67.0), 30th in completion percentage (37.1%), 30th in yards per attempt (9.9) and 26th in passer rating (74.4). His misses cost the Bills dearly at times, and his infamous throw to fullback Patrick DiMarco became the symbol of his panic when he needed a big play. Right now, Allen is the only one laughing. Through three games, he has 14 completions on passes of 16 or more yards, more than any other quarterback. Last year, he had 36 such completions across a full 16-game schedule. He's completing 70% of his deep attempts and averaging 20.6 yards per attempt, both of which rank in the top five. He has a 99.9 QBR on deep throws, trailing only that of Wilson and Jared Goff through three weeks.... What is also true, though, is that one bad game from Allen doesn't erase or reset the progress he has shown through the first three weeks of the season. If he has a disastrous start against the Raiders on Sunday, he'll still have the Bills at 3-1 with much better passing numbers than we saw from him in 2019. What he has accomplished so far shows that he has the ability to reach what appeared to be an impossible ceiling coming out of school and that he's a lot closer to realizing that potential on a regular basis than I expected after last season. If he can be this guy week in and week out, the Bills have a credible case as one of the three or four best teams in football." -
I think we'll see some regression to the mean for both the offense and defense. Assuming this Josh Allen sticks around, given the rest of the talent on this squad, we should win a minimum of 10 games. I'd readjust our over/under to something like 10.5 wins at this point.

Yep. I was 11 as well. We had seasons from 87-95. So many great memories, but that game really stands out for me.
-
Cam Newton said something similar, but it was about the owner instead of the receivers.

One of the most memorable games I attended as a kid. Not sure I remember Rich Stadium ever being louder than during that 77 second stretch. All of the fans just hugging and high fiving. Great times.

Clearly, Kroft should start at tight end now
TheBrownBear replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like we are pretty solid at the position right now. Kroft is an all-around solid player when he's healthy, and Knox is a tantalizing project who's only in his second season. I fully expect Knox to make some head turning plays as we progress through this season.
