Peterman signed to extension

Just how many compromising photos is this guy in possession of? -
I don't see a great need for upgrading the backup position. I think Barkley is the perfect backup QB to be honest. Veteran guy, cheap, understands his role, helpful in Josh's development and game preparation, and can competently run the offense in a pinch. Then you keep Webb or Fromm as your younger developmental guy.

Is McDermott aggressive? NFL.com thinks so.
TheBrownBear replied to Michael1962's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was pleasantly surprised with how McD's game management skills evolved and how aggressive he was this season. Yes, he could have been more aggressive against KC, but I believe he'll learn from it. I feel pretty secure in our future with him at the helm. -
That trade thread from 2017 is really painful to read now. Thank God that Allen has turned out to be so good, or I might be suicidaly depressed watching Mahomes play.

Imagine what the package would be for Josh?
TheBrownBear replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love Josh too, but I had the same thought (for a millisecond). I wouldn't do it straight up, given the situation that the Texans find themselves in. But if the Texans were to throw in Watt or Tunsil, and I knew that trading Josh wouldn't destroy the chemistry in the locker room (which there's no way of knowing), then I would think hard about pulling the trigger. I have those same glasses, but mine says "wife" instead of husband. After I drink a few of those, I put on my Diggs jersey and have my wife fire footballs at me from 3' away. -
Holy crap. That's a ton to give up for a 32 year old QB who has never won a playoff game. Is anyone scared of Matthew Stafford? LMAO
-
Yep. UCLA guy here too. Felton would be a great fit in our offense in a shared backfield with Moss. Singletary did one thing well - making guys miss in tight spaces - and we saw none of it this season.

the missing link - an Alvin Kamara-type player

Look out for Demetric Felton. Dynamic playmaker, good pass catcher and he'll be there in the mid-rounds of the draft. -
Deshaun Watson officially requests trade from Houston
TheBrownBear replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. It makes no sense from the Niners perspective. Maybe if they threw in Watt or a young asset, but no way they send the 12th and Jimmy G for Ryan. -
Eh, I think TE will need to wait. Also, I thought Knox was showing signs of growth in the second half of the season. He was very raw coming into the league, but has gamebreaking potential if/when he puts it all together. Think of him as the Josh Allen of tight ends. I wouldn't be surprised to see him make a big leap in his third year.

I'm curious as to the ages of the Brady haters. I wonder if they're generally younger and have experienced nothing other than Pats azz-whoopings?
-
Brady has earned my respect over the years. Yes, I hated the Pats and in turn Brady, but mostly it was misplaced anger over the sorry state of our franchise. What the guy continues to do at age 43 is amazing. At a certain point you've just got to tip your hat to the guy. He's the GOAT. And I like the storyline of him punctuating his career with a non-Belichick title. The Chiefs seem like punks. And was anyone else filled with rage watching that human filth Tyreek Hill smiling on the sidelines?

RB is a huge need for sure. Singletary regressed badly this season. I was expecting a huge year from him and he just flat out didn't perform. His drop on Sunday night changed the entire complexion of the game. He had a 20 yard gain ahead of him. At worst we kick a field goal and extend the lead to 12-7, but if he catches that and we go in and add a TD - everything changes, imo. That play literally took the wind out of our sails. You could see it on the body language of the entire team. -
Was that our easiest playoff loss to take?
TheBrownBear replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can't say I disagree. There's a part of me as well that's relieved we don't have to face the prospect of losing another game to Brady. Now I can just enjoy the Chiefs kicking TB's teeth in. -

The 2017 Jax game was by far the easiest to take. We had zero chance of advancing any further if we had won. This Chiefs loss is on par with the loss to the Bengals in 1988. Team on the rise who is outclassed on the road by a really good team. -
Yeldon did a really good job
TheBrownBear replied to tbonehawaii's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeldon is a mystery for sure. Never understood why Jax didn't give him more of an opportunity after his first year either. He looks pretty good when given an opportunity. There must be something there (personally???) that is turning off the coaches. Moss was starting to show some things down the stretch before his injury and had basically eclipsed Singletary. He may surprise us next year with a season under his belt. -

Josh's Skin Coloring Yesterday
TheBrownBear replied to saundena's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Uh oh...am I seeing the birth of the next great conspiracy to grip the nation? NFL kidnapped Josh and installed a yellow doppleganger to get their coveted Mahomes vs. Brady matchup? All kidding aside, my wife and I did notice that as well. Jaundice from a gallstone? -
Thank you Buffalo Bills
TheBrownBear replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you to all the players, coaches, staff and ownership. This was a great season. We have a young team, coach and front office that should only get better from here. If you can't enjoy 15 wins, a sweep of the Pats (and AFC East), multiple primetime curbstompings and two playoff victories, well, I'm not sure you'll ever find much joy in anything in life. Lol. Next year should be amazing with a (hopefully) packed house at Bills Stadium. -
I agree, but Reid and Spags had the luxury of having been to and won (and lost) multiple championship and Super Bowl games before. They had the courage and confidence forged from their past trials to put together the type of schemes and gameday decisions we've seen during the past two weeks. No way does Reid go for that fourth down against the Browns when he was coaching the Eagles to NFC Championship losses. McDermott just hasn't had that luxury, so he's naturally going to err on the side of conservatism and sticking to what his team knows. He'd get killed if we saw the same outcome last night while running a bunch of exotic/disguised looks with a young linebacking crew when we hadn't seen that all season. McDermott (and Beane and Daboll and Josh) has improved every season. Let's hope they all saw what we did and learned some hard lessons from last night that make the next matchup a little more competitive.

Everything in NewEra's post is right on point. The problem is that Mahomes, Hill and (especially) Kelce are transcendent talents. No one seemingly slows them down. In fact, check out the stats from our first game against KC, we did a better job of limiting them than almost every other team in the league. Obviously, our approach and execution weren't nearly good enough to beat them (either time). But Kelce and Hill dominate anyone and everyone when they feel like it. Chiefs played down to some opponents out of boredom this season, but they are a GREAT team as we saw last night. We could really use an elite pass rusher, elite middle linebacker and top shelf gamebreaking running back, but couldn't everyone? Lol.
