I was the same way for basically a decade, but the recent success of the Bills and fantasy football has sucked me back in. I still don't watch any of the national media peripheral stuff (pregame, daily/weekly ESPN/NFLN talkshows, etc.). But the football itself is fun to watch now that the Bills are good, and, just generally, there is a ton of great young QB and WR talent to watch around the league.

Agree with you guys. He'll be back.

I like what I've seen from Mac. He's going to do a very good job of running that offense and moving the chains with that running game. That's two very tough games on the schedule IMO.

Cam has been thoroughly washed up for 2+ years. I'm surprised the Pats gave him as much rope as they did. This is definitely the right move for them, and I'm sure Cam will find at least one more team willing to kick the tires on him before he bows out of the league.

Another great post, Shaw66. I enjoy pretty much everyone here in our little community, but your writing and insight is by far the number one reason I keep coming back. I hope these Bills deliver you multiple (legitimate) Super Bowl Champions t-shirts in your golden years. 👍

ESPN projections for 2021.

I don't see Josh throwing double digit picks this year. I think we see something like 40-45 TDs and 7-8 INTs. -
DeShaun Watson will be inactive every game??
TheBrownBear replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope Watson rots on the bench for the Texans. He doesn't deserve a happy ending in Florida. -
Is the AFC East the toughest for a new HC?
TheBrownBear replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe, but I wouldn't rate Flores too highly yet. They didn't really beat anyone of note last year on their way to 10 wins. So, AFC East has one HOF coach, a really good young coach and a potentially good young coach. The AFC Central, AFC West and NFC South each have two Super Bowl winning coaches, so those divisions aren't the easiest to be stuck in as a 1st year head coach either. -
Bills trading Daryll Johnson to the Panthers for 6th rd pick
TheBrownBear replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't worry guys. Beane's just clearing out some space and using Carolina to hold Johnson for us for awhile. He'll trade the 6th rounder back to Carolina a few weeks down the road if we end up needing Bam Johnson. -
Around the League Preseason Games Thread

Hate to say it, but Jones and that Pats running game look really good. They will be a problem this year. It was nice to have a year where the rest of the division sucked. Lol -
GAME BALLS - Packers v. Bills, 08/28/21
TheBrownBear replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The great thing is that Josh could have actually played better. It seemed like a pretty average performance from him and it accounted for 200 yards and two touchdowns in a single half of football. -
No. I don't think that's it at all. Minshew was outplayed by C.J. Beathard in preseason and camp, and Beathard has plenty of starting experience in the league. He's a quality player. Jax didn't need to keep both of them. Might as well get something for Minshew.

Sports Illustrated Predicts Every Game
TheBrownBear replied to The Avenger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Barring some seriously MAJOR injuries, we are not going 2-4 in the division. I'd bet my wife and first child on that. -
Here's the thing though, all they have to do is get a quick daily nasal swab and wear a mask when around others at the facility (or get the vaccine of course). The fact that they have short career windows, should only increase their willingness to follow the league mandated rules. If not, it says to me that they don't care so much about said NFL livelihoods.

I respect personal choice and all, but all I can do is shake my head at this point, especially after Dion and Tommy's experiences and the Pfizer approval. It will be sad if losing one (or more) of these guys at the wrong time submarines our season. And beyond that, I hope these guys stay safe and don't find themselves really ill and in the hospital.

Urban Meyer killed it at Bowling Green and Utah (winning a Fiesta Bowl when they were still in the MWC). The guy is a great, great coach and not necessarily dependent on being a great recruiter. It may not translate to the NFL, but I wouldn't write off Meyer based on 2 preseason losses as head coach of the worst team in the NFL.

Bills claim WR Rico Gafford and DT Joey Ivie
TheBrownBear replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting. I'm guessing McBeane trusts Josh's judgement and grabs these Wyoming boys for him, so they can record a little tape for the next stop on their professional football journeys. -
Travis Etienne out for the season
TheBrownBear replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought the same thing. His productivity (YPA) fell off a cliff in his senior season. I didn't want the Bills anywhere near this guy in the early rounds. -
Comparison to 90s SB teams
TheBrownBear replied to BoccesOnTransit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I take the 90s Bills. I think they're built to beat the current team. You beat this Bills team by running it down their throat and making them run the ball on offense. Don't think this current team would take advantage of the small 90's defensive line or be able to stop Thurman and Kenny Davis from running the ball like crazy. Just my opinion.
