From Dawg Pound to Bills Mafia - Browns Fans Leaving for the Bills
TheBrownBear replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly. I think GB is just digging in his heels here, but man, he comes across as incredibly obtuse and borderline autistic (I say this as someone with autistic family members). And I'm not even sure why he's arguing for Watson's innocence or right to earn a living or whatever, since Watson is not only free, but has been given a $48 million dollar raise for sitting out a season (while still being paid) under extreme suspicion of committing some very deplorable acts. It seems the real issue here for GB has nothing to do with the relative utility and efficiency of the criminal justice system, but some deep seated fear of the spread of the "mob mentality" (which, in reality when it comes to this case, is just people making up their minds that they don't like a guy who has been accused of sexual misconduct by 22 women). Ask yourself this GB, if becoming a victim of opportunistic grifter women and the social media "mob" is such a readily existential threat, why aren't NFL quarterbacks being accused of sexual assault left and right (by 20+ women)? -
Deshaun Watson to Browns - $230 million guaranteed

Unbelievable that you can get a $48 million dollar raise by sexually assaulting 21 women and sitting out an entire year. Wild stuff. Something just seems wrong with this, no? -
Don't think that will be a problem. But damn, I count 8 legit contenders in the AFC who could win a SB against whoever the NFC trots out there. And the Raiders and Colts aren't far behind either if they can get average starter quality QB play. Even the Phins and Pats would be solid playoff teams in the NFC. In the AFC they are bottom-feeding nobodies.

Matt Barkley Back? (Yep! deal not yet known)

Correct. Good for chemistry and we can't really afford a top end backup at this point. I'm okay with it. -

Not sure. But I'll let her stay at my place while we decide. -

Let all these other AFC divisions cannibalize each other, while we bludgeon the Sisters of the Poor. Our path to the No. 1 seed gets easier by the hour. -

Probably knows it's the only fanbase desperate enough not to be immediately repulsed by him. Smart move. -
not impressed

The obvious answer = everyone. And yes, while the Chiefs are the team who eliminated us the past two seasons, we had plenty of talent/firepower to dispatch them in 2021. Let's not forget that we outscored them by 21 points over 119:47 of game time in Arrowhead last season, and were on the cusp of basically claiming Arrowhead as our own turf before the unmentionable occurred.

Star released. Pre-6/1 per Joe B, $1.5M cap savings.

That actually makes sense from a logical standpoint. If you're dead set against vaccination, but still afraid of catching COVID, I'd say it makes sense to sit out and isolate yourself. It's not the choice I would have made for myself, but I can see where he was coming from. -
OT: The sudden existential crisis in New England
TheBrownBear replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Went to their site and it's pretty funny. A bunch of their posters think that the Miller signing is actually good for the Pats and bad for the Bills since Belichick will "run right at Miller" and neutralize his effectiveness. These guys are pretty sad and haven't come to terms with the fact that they are on the cusp of becoming the Dick Jauron Buffalo Bills. -
Notwithstanding the off-the-field distraction stuff (which may not have been a big deal in the building), I appreciated all that Beas brought to the field. Tough little bastard. Good luck to him.
-
Yeah, and they scored on 2 of his 3 drives (which included a 35 yard DPI penalty that doesn't show up in the stats). Not saying Fitz is good but pointing to his 20 minutes of 2021 game time as proof is laughable.
-
Lol, what? He played like 3 series before getting hurt.

No thanks. I want the best available cb/wr however that shakes out.

The torn holes of Pats, Phins and Jets fans is my guess. -
Lovin me some Beane right now. Love the Howard signing. Still upside there and he should be fully recovered from the injury from a couple of seasons ago. Pair him with Knox and we now have legit 12 personnel.

I F'ing LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! -
Maybe he can practice remotely. Or we can set up a "Southern Bills" practice pod for the guys who don't like the Buffalo weather. Just fly 'em up for gamedays. Better yet, they can practice in Hard Rock Stadium, since Josh Allen already owns it.
-
Yeah, I get he was injured a bunch the past two years with hamstring issues, but he's still damn good when he sees the field. I would absolutely roll the dice on a team friendly one year deal. James Lofton was "washed up" at age 33 when he caught on with the Bills.

McDermott’s plan for a pass rush IMO

I think you're right, Shaw. And re-watching the Chiefs game, getting pressure from our front four wasn't the issue. We were getting tons of pressure on Mahomes, especially early on, we just couldn't close the deal and bring him to the turf. I don't think our defensive line is the dire situation many on here make it out to be. I'm much more worried about CB, WR and OL depth at this point.
