  1. Reid: I thought this was Mahomes' 'best game' KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes exceeded the expectations of what he could be in his first year as a full-time starter a long time ago. On Sunday, he provided yet another indication of how special he's going to be in the near future. It wasn't so much the numbers he produced that stood out in a 27-24 overtime win over the Baltimore Ravens. It's that he once again willed his team to victory at a time when defeat easily could've been the result. Of all the great moments Mahomes has provided thus far, nothing compares to what he did against Baltimore. He didn't have Kareem Hunt, as the Chiefs released the Pro Bowl running back on Nov. 30. He didn't have wide receiver Sammy Watkins, whose lingering foot injury reportedly will sideline him for the rest of the regular season. Mahomes also had to deal with a Baltimore defense that was the best in the NFL in points and total yards allowed coming into this contest. Most quarterbacks would struggle with those circumstances. After throwing for 377 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, Mahomes reminded us once more that he's at his best when the odds are stacked against him. "He had the one interception but other than that, I thought this was his best game," said Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. "This defense was a huge challenge. These son of a guns were really good and have a really good package. They unloaded it at him and he kept bringing it. I'm proud of him for doing that. You can get a little defeated when you get hit as many times as he got hit but he stayed in there and kept firing."

  5. 6. Buffalo Bills D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss Even though the Bills could stand to improve on the defensive line, their defense has been a great story this year; it’s their offense that needs the most help. Quarterback Josh Allen has been fine, and even though the media loves to beat up on Allen because it’s low hanging fruit, he has progressed. What would allow him to take the next step is if the Bills’ second best wide receiver wasn’t Robert Foster. D.K. Metcalf would not only be Buffalo’s second best wide receiver, he’d be their first best wide receiver — Trevor, you don’t have to say “first best,” best is implied. Metcalf missed the last portion of Ole Miss’ season with a neck injury. As long as the neck checks out, this 6-3, 225-pound outside wide receiver was just starting to scratch the surface of what he’s capable of. 37. Buffalo Bills: Noah Fant, TE, Iowa
  6. Yes that happens as it did a few times with Zay Jones, but Allen has his share of inaccurate throws. The great throws I mentioned include drops. There's no need to rush to his defense every time he's critiqued as he has room for improvement.
  7. We all hope this is true. Let it play out as they both have quite a bit to learn and the respective teams have plenty of work to do to build up the supporting casts.
  8. I don't. Mark Sanchez and EJ Manuel say "Hello". Class of '83 has no equal.
  9. Slow down! Far too early to know whether either will approach the lofty perch of those HoF QBs.

  13. Jared went from Goff to Goof tonight.
  14. Bears D came to play tonight! Looks like the Saints will be happy tonight as the #1 seed in the NFC after this week.
  15. Play defense and they get another at bat. The other team can even score points and you still get another chance. Too much crying in fandom.
