  1. He and Zimmer were a bad mix. DeFilippo didn't have any faith in the OL to get the necessary push in short yardage situations. Regardless he was far too predictable. The OL still won't get better with the new OC.
  2. Joe Flacco is back from his hi injury, but will serve as Lamar Jackson's backup. I can't see Flacco staying with the Ravens in 2019
  3. Bills' Josh Allen Will Test Lions' QB Rushing Defense By Matt Schoch, Special to The Detroit News Allen Park — The Lions improving run defense always has been good at one aspect this season, which figures to be put to the test on Sunday. After containing the scrambling of quarterbacks such as Russell Wilson, Mitch Trubisky and Cam Newton this season, a strong-armed rookie from Wyoming is the Lions’ biggest test yet in that regard. The Lions (5-8) have allowed just 62 yards on the ground to quarterbacks on 34 carries this season, with Wilson’s 11-yard first quarter run on Oct. 28 as the only rush of double-digit yardage this season. But Buffalo’s Josh Allen, the seventh pick of the draft, has three straight games of rushing yardage that are each more than the Lions have allowed all season to a quarterback. He also has 16 plays this season of 11 or more yards on a carry, including 11 in the last three games. “We prepared well and I think the guys have a good job on that,” Lions linebackers coach Al Golden said. “Now having said that, I think Buffalo and Allen might be our greatest challenge this year. The young man is doing an unbelievable job of moving the football for Buffalo.”

  6. From Andy Benoit: JOSH ALLEN’S LEGS They need to be a featured part of Buffalo’s offense. Allen has done a great job using his legs on scrambles against man coverage, where Buffalo’s increasingly vertical passing attack is lifting defenders and creating voids in the middle of the field. These last three weeks of 2018 must be spent incorporating Allen more into the foundational run game designs, like what the Panthers do with Cam Newton. The next question will be whether Allen can develop into a quality on-the-move thrower. If he can, Buffalo’s run-pass integration designs will be hard to handle in 2019 and beyond.
  7. 11. Tremaine Edmunds, LB, Bills (16th overall)The NFL’s youngest player (he won’t turn 21 until May) struggled immensely in zone coverage early in the season, making play-action the favorite tactic of every Bills opponent. But to Edmunds’s credit, he has become more patient with his reads early in the down, which has allowed him to better employ his speed late in the down. With fellow starting linebacker Matt Milano having a surprisingly stellar season before fracturing his fibula on Sunday, Buffalo’s defense is set inside for the foreseeable future. Linebackers are crucial to this team, as head coach Sean McDermott has brought over many of the double-A-gap pressures and disguises that he ran with Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis in Carolina. 12-12: Tremaine Edmunds on One Bills Live (9:27)
