Mic'd Up: Josh Allen (3:53) In this edition of "Mic'd Up", we put the mic on Quarterback Josh Allen during the Bills' 14-13 Week 15 victory over the Lions.

4. Bills QB Josh Allen was pretty raw and needed significant fundamental work coming out of Wyoming. Buffalo is looking for progress from their rookie quarterback, and yesterday’s win gave the team plenty of hope that what they’re trying to teach him—to take what the defense gives him and to protect himself when he runs—is starting to take. It showed yesterday, even with pedestrian numbers to show for it. One play that was pulled for me was a first-and-10 in the third quarter on which, at the snap, Allen had receivers going vertical. In September, he may have taken a shot there. Here, instead, he calmly saw the defense falling off, and checked it down to running back Keith Ford, swinging into the flat, for seven yards. It’s a small example, but important given Allen’s propensity for home-run swings.

Quick Hits: Marcus Murphy Dealing with Dislocated Elbow The Bills running back contingent was thin this past Sunday due to injuries suffered by LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory the previous week. The depth chart appeared to get thinner when Marcus Murphy left Sunday’s game with an arm injury and did not return, leaving rookie Keith Ford as the only available tailback. “We’ve got a general update in that most guys are being evaluated. We’ll know more on Tuesday, but Marcus Murphy has a dislocated elbow,” said head coach Sean McDermott. Not all injuries are the same, but former Bills CB Phillip Gaines suffered a dislocated elbow earlier this season and missed two games before returning to the lineup. When asked whether Murphy could play through it, McDermott wasn’t sure at this point in the week. “We’re still determining that right now,” he said. Meanwhile the bodies of Ivory and McCoy obviously benefited by not playing on Sunday against the Lions. Both players participated in practice at the end of last week, so the anticipation is they will be able to practice on Wednesday. Josh Allen’s completion percentage not the focus Ford and Thompson fare well in debuts

12-17: Kyle Williams on WGR (13:46) Williams on new guys stepping up - It gives a lot of people an opportunity to see what the makeup of the team is. #GoBills Williams on Marcus Murphy - You feel bad for guys when that happens. Especially him, how well he's played & how hard he works. He'll come back from it stronger. #GoBills Williams on Patrick DiMarco - He put me in the dust on the yardage there. What'd he get 7,8,9 yards? #GoBills Williams - In the 1st half especially, a lot of their chunk plays were 50/50 balls. Almost had a pick on one. At halftime we decided there wasn't a reason to do anything different. #GoBills Williams on no sacks in back to back weeks - It's such a sexy stat, but as long as you're pressuring a QB like Stafford. #GoBills Williams on going for it on 4th to win the game - When you have a big strong QB like Josh, you should be able to pick up a foot no problem. You got a guy that's 6'5", 240 pounds. #GoBills McDermott on Josh Allen: "He Completed Key Passes at Key Moments of the Game" The Bills' Head Coach Joined the Bulldog after Sunday's 14-13 Win Over the Lions The fifth victorious Buffalo Bills Football Monday of the year was upon us, and so too was the presence of Bills' head coach Sean McDermott. Buffalo moved to 5-9 with their one-point win over the visiting Detroit Lions. Next up, you ask? Why, none other than the New England Patriots on December 23rd at 1:00 p.m. in Gillette Stadium. Before we get too ahead of ourselves, here is some of the best from McDermott's time on WGR. 12-17: Sean McDermott on WGR (12:39) McDermott - It's nice to see we have some young players that hadn't played before getting a chance. #GoBills McDermott on Keith Ford - He carried the ball two or three times in a row and started to tap, which means he was tired and wanted to come out. Brian (Daboll) called another run play. #GoBills McDermott on Josh Allen - He did have more time than in the weeks prior. When you can give the QB that amount of time it allows the young QB to go through his reads. #GoBills McDermott on how the Lions played Allen - They did spy Josh. He did a good job with it and read the coverage. Key passes and key moments of the game. #GoBills McDermott on 4th down decisions - In an ideal situation I wanted Stephen's first kick to be more manageable. We tried to pin them deep and didn't. That's something we need to continue to work on. #GoBills McDermott - Want to expose Josh to more and more situations like that. He'll grow from those experiences. #GoBills McDermott on final 4th down sneak - He wanted the ball in his hands. When you have a big QB, if you can't get an inch, you don't deserve to win the game. #GoBills McDermott on Allen - At the end of the day, his development is a big part of this process. He's led a couple of come from behind victories. That's a box you want to be able to check. Not concerned about his ability to bring us back in games. #GoBills
