  3. 12-18: Jason Botterill with Schopp & the Bulldog on WGR (16:54) Listen now as #Sabres GM Jason Botterill joins Schopp & the Bulldog at @716FoodandSport! Botterill - I know how hard our players & coaches have worked. They should be proud of their accomplishments so far, and know there's more work to be done. #Sabres Botterill - Within that five game losing streak we played two or three really good games. That's good for Mittelstadt & Dahlin to go through. #Sabres Botterill - We feel some players down in Rochester will help us out in the second half of the year. #Sabres Botterill on Berglund - All I can say is we've made a statement on it and nothing has changed. #Sabres Botterill - Jack has played well defensively with hard matchups. He's gotten a lot better on his two way game. #Sabres Botterill on Eichel - You come into the league at age 18, sometimes we're amazed how good they are. He's grown as a leader and a man. #Sabres Botterill - We've tried to create three balanced pairings, trying to get some depth scoring. That's how we want to win. #Sabres Botterill - Pilut will hopefully be back this weekend, same thing with McCabe. You want to see them get some practices before that happens. #Sabres Botterill on Pilut - I think his play has been outstanding so far. After some injuries we had to throw him in the deep end versus some top players and he did a super job. #Sabres Botterill on Pilut - His ability to cope with some disappointment and how hard he works in practice is part of why he got back up here. #Sabres Botterill - Whether you're drafted or undrafted, it's all about development. The draft is just a snapshot. #Sabres Botterill on something he wants to be better - You want to have more depth scoring up front. The game vs. Arizona, loved it. You see little things like Girgensons blocking that shot, he got an assist for that. #Sabres Jason Botterill: "You Want to Have More Depth Scoring Up Front" The Sabres have strung a nice stretch together following their five game losing streak. It's been a bit since we talked with the General Manager. Before the Sabres played the Panthers on Tuesday night, Sabres GM Jason Botterill stopped by 716 Food & Sport to chat with Schopp & the Bulldog. Here's some of the best from Botterill's time with the guys!
  4. REPORT: Bills Workout Eight Players on Tuesday The Buffalo Bills worked out a handful of players on Tuesday afternoon. Numerous different sources via Twitter helped piece together the puzzle, as the list kept growing larger. Three quarterbacks were checked out by the Bills in Garrett Gilbert, Logan Woodside and Bo Levi Mitchell. Gilbert, who last suited up this preseason with the Carolina Panthers, is the son of former NFL quarterback Gale Gilbert, who spent two seasons in Buffalo in 1990 and 1993. Woodside was a 7th-round draft choice of the Cincinnati Bengals this past April, while Mitchell lines up under center for the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League. Mitchell went undrafted during his draft year back in 2012, and has been in the CFL ever since. A pair of tight ends also worked out at One Bills Drive. One was Evan Baylis, who last played in 2017 for the Houston Texans. The other was Erik Swoope, who was last in game action on December 9th of this year with the Indianapolis Colts. Swoope caught a touchdown pass back on October 21st in the Colt's 37-5 win over the Bills. As for the wide receivers, they both came from the CFL. Diontae Spencer currently plays for the Ottawa Redblacks. He is also a return specialist for Ottawa. Spencer was previously a member of the St. Louis Rams in 2014. D'haquille Williams is a 25-year-old receiver for the Edmonton Eskimos. Williams was at one time a Ram as well (2016) and played his college ball at Auburn. Rounding out the list was outside linebacker Cory James, a former Oakland Raider who played 26 career games in the NFL between the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Notably, he suited up for all 16 contests for the Raiders in 2016.
  5. ANALYSIS Carr: Eagles Should Shut Down Wentz David Carr speaks from personal experience when he says that Carson Wentz shouldn't play another snap in 2018. Plus, see how Week 15 affected his latest offensive player rankings. The Philadelphia Eagles have to feel a sense of déjà vu right about now. The Eagles are back where they started almost exactly a year ago, when quarterback Carson Wentzsuffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 14, and Nick Foles stepped in to lead the team to its first-ever Super Bowl title. Last week, it was reported that Wentz has a fracture in his back. Then, he did not play in Sunday's game versus the Los Angeles Rams, and Foles led the Eagles to a season-saving win. Following the victory, head coach Doug Pederson said Monday that the veteran will start in Week 16, and that Wentz will NOT go on IR despite his fractured back.
