I was pretty content with their picks.
But using that as your reference is a little strange.
They take Maybin at 11, he's ranked 10.
They take Wood at 28, he's ranked 37.
They take Byrd at 42, he's ranked 43.
They take Levitre at 51, he's ranked 45.
Add it all up and they took the 4 guys at a combined 3 spots BEFORE where PFW had them ranked. I don't put much stock into those rankings, but apparently you do. Either way, I would guess by PFW's standards they did very AVERAGE drafting.
It was a good day because they had 4 picks in the top 51. And they're probably going to get good grade from the publications. Because they had 4 picks in the top 51, not because they unearthed a bunch of steals.
It's not just because of the rankingss...we addressed majors needs with good picks. Last year our pass rush was awful, our interior line play was very weak...how may 3rd or 4th and shorts got blown up? and our safety play was down right mediocre to put in kindly.
Good 1st day all in all...not that we addressed every need, but that's where day 2 comes in.

I saw that yesterday. That was on NFL Total Access. They promoted the "on the clock" segment on the crawl yesterday. It was to air at 6:30 and 10 pm today.
Not true, I recorded Path to the Draft Yesterday on my DVR from 6:30 to 7:00 with Chris Brown.

I just lost 30 mins of my life waiting for the "on the clock" segment of Path to the Draft because they were supposed to break down the Bills draft on the NFL Network. The segment was pre-empted because of the USC pro day workout, a college team. The Bills are now being disrespected by two networks (ESPN/NFL). Where is the LOVE?
That was yesterday. Chris Brown was on and thought the Bills would select Everette Brown or Aaron Maybin.

Shane Conlan was a good player, but the Bills blew it when they passed on HOF Rod Woodson! Said so at the time. We win at least one SB with him instead of Hammer Head! Drafting is an inexact science.....Oh well!

How does SF pick before us when they beat us?
head to head is not a factor in determining the draft order. The wins and losses of the opponents on the schedule is the 1st factor to determine who selects 1st when teams finish with the same record. The teams on the 49ers schedule had two less wins than the Bills. That's why they draft 10th and the Bills draft 11th.
